Mamato - Happy Birthday! and yes, I do need to post and exercise more often. Actually, I go back to the leg doctor on Wednesday. He will do sclerotherapy (injections to get rid of small varicose veins) on both of my legs. They will feel better faster than the surgery for the big veins that put my running to a halt. Once I get over this, I do want to get back on track with my running. I am not that far from my 100 pound mark, then 5 more pounds to Onederland!! Exercise will get me there much quicker. Thank you for the encouragement. Life since school has started has been extremely busy. DS is playing middle school soccer (3 -1 record) and busy playing Fall Festival's with the bluegrass band. Thank the Lord I only have one child.

EbonyRose - I am a rule follower. I really watch what I eat and I am pretty faithful to exercise. If it is gonna be, it is up to me! -
How much weight have you lost?????
SugarBean replied to Kay_Benavides's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This coming Wednesday will be my 6 month BANDaversary!!!! I have lost 90 pounds (30 before surgery). I have lost rather quickly in the beginning, however, as of late it has been slow. That is okay with me, it is probably good for my body to slow down a little. I have also had issues with losing my hair, but I can see regrowth. I would rather lose some hair than to weigh 90 pounds more again. I am hoping it will balance out soon. GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU BANDSTERS!!!! -
Make sure you get at least 60-80 grams of protien each day. I am one of the 30% or so patients who has been losing my hair. I can see that it is regrowing, but I am still losing. EAT/DRINK YOUR PROTIEN.

Special K - Thanks for the sermon notes. I would have liked sitting next to you in the pew Sunday morning. I need a little Attitude, Aim, and Action in my life. I feel sort of like I am wavering in my lapband life. I am sort of getting to used to everything and a little slack. I need an attitude adjustment and to refocus on my goal. Thank you also for the scripture reference.

TODAY IS WEIGH IN DAY!!! Okay, okay so I cheated a few weeks back and weighed. I stopped running. (I could list a bunch of excuses, but to tell you the truth, I have no real excuse) I do miss running and I miss checking in with you girls and keeping up with your lives and your running and weight loss success. I do plan on starting c25k again and I do plan on finishing the program. With all that said, I have lost 5 pounds this month. Best of luck with your running and weight loss success. I am proud of you all for sticking with the program and progressing to the next level. I'll get back on track and check in with you again.

I was banded March 24th and have had 2 fills and have never PBd (productive burp) or slimed etc.. Not everyone does this. I do think it depends on how tight your band is, how fast you eat, not chewing your food well, etc..

March Bandsters How Many Fills ?
SugarBean replied to julietj1970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tess - I noticed your ticker went up!!!!! I have lost 4 pound this week being on liquids. -
I just had my 2nd fill this Wednesday (Aug 20th.) My surgery was March 24th and my first fill was at the end of May. My June appointment the doctor and I decided not to fill because I was not hungry and felt good restriction. Two weeks later I was starving. I decided to go on liquids and mushies for a day or two which seemed to help with restriction or at least my mind set. But I was ready for the fill this week. I have a total of 5cc in a 14 cc band. 2 at surgery, 2 at the first fill, and 1 at the second fill. I am hoping to have good restriction and keep it for awhile. I drive two hours to the doctors so if I feel like I need restriction we will schedule in October for a flouro fill instead of in the office.

You scan your card which has been programmed to your physical ability and you have to stay in the green on each machine to reach your fitness goal. At the end of your work out you can go to the computer and see your results. How many calories you have burned, which machines you met goal on, which ones you have to work harder on, etc... I joined Curves today!!! Actually, I was a member a several years ago. I like the fact that the work out is only 30 minutes. It is soccer season in our house, so right now that means I can go to curves while my son goes to practice. I have been doing Couch 2 5K for a little while, so my cardio has improved greatly. I am hoping Curves will help my jiggly thighs and my bat wing arms. How are you other Curve Girls doing?

Down 84 pounds. 30 before surgery.

I went to the doctors and got a fill today. I have only dropped 1 stinkin' pound since the beginning of our scale challenge. I hope the fill will help. As for running, I have not ran for a few days. To tell you the truth I don't remember what day it was. I have better get it in gear or I'll have to start back at Week 1 if I am not careful. WTG renewed!!! DS starts school in the morning. I can't believe he is going to 7th grade. It seems like yesterday he was going to kindergarten. We finally got him packed up and ready for the morning. He is in bed, well I thought he was. Here he comes prowling. He is excited. I'm sure the excitement is from wanting to see his friends not actual school.
-
I had my second fill today. I have a total of 5cc in a 14 cc band. I sure hope this will break my plateau.
-
Well, I am off to get a fill, hopefully some restriction and weight loss will come my way.
-
I also get a fill tomorrow. I have pretty much been stuck for a few weeks, more hungry, less satisfied. I am just nervous about getting over-filled. I have never pb'd or slimed and I do not want to start. Wish me luck.
-
My hubby is a nurse too! Also, my SIL who was banded 3 weeks ago is a nurse.
-
Special K - Sorry to hear about your stepdad. My prayers are with you and your mother. Rugman - I get a fill on Wednesday. The scales have not moved for me in 3 weeks and I am a little hungry here and there. This is only my 2nd fill. I have never pb'd or slimed, I hope this is not the beginning for me. I'm off to buy some new clothes for school. (for me, not my kiddo) I am a school librarian and school starts next week. I have put off shopping until the last minute for obvious reasons. I'll get a new small wardrobe only to shrink out of them by Thanksgiving.
-
All this scale talk.... Okay, so I am the cheater. I got on the scales the other day. I stayed the same. Sorry, please forgive me.
-
Harley - I too am no longer addicted to chocolate, sweets, chips, breads, etc... I just plain do not want them. Sunday night my DH went through Dairy Queen's drive-thru. He and DS got treats, I waited until I got home and had a SF fudge pop. Now that's control.
-
Georgia - I am so sorry. I know you are frustrated. By all means get back to the doctor and get an x-ray. I am not sure why they did not do one to start with.
-
Bonnie - I have decided that speed does not matter as long as you do the time. The speed will come. Great job running 25 minutes!!!! Me on the other hand decided to go back to Week 3. Well I walked out of the house and forgot to look at Week 3's program. ( I run the old fashion way - with a stop watch) It has been 3 weeks since I have ran week 3 so I sort of just winged it. I did not do my intervals just right, but I will count it as a success!!! One of my 3 minutes, I ran 4.
