Too much extra New Years food and a little more exercise must have equaled out.

I was on the treadmill this morning. Hoping to get rid of a few extra calories from last night. Happy New Year!!! I did not make my 11 minutes, only 7 today. Then ended up doing several short intervals with varying speeds. I'll try again in the morning.

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy New Year!!!! I am at home with my DH and 12 year old DS. We have been eating snacks (I can't believe how much I have eaten) and playing games. We just took a break to watch "America Funniest Home Videos" I love to hear my DS laugh. I still have buffalo wings and mozzerella cheese sticks to bake. Ughh... Tomorrow is a new day - a new year.

Yipee Skippy - Thanks Kathy and Georgia for the advice. I was able to run 10 minutes straight on my first interval then only 3 minutes on the second. I am stoked about 10 minutes straight!!!! The most I have ever done before is 5. I think luluc suggested along time ago to count 1-2, 1-2. I worked really hard to concentrate on my breathing. Okay advice time: Should I be concentrating on the first inverval and worry later about the second? Or should I have a different strategy?

Glad to see you back Leslie. Thanks Kathy and Georgia - I was able to do 3 minutes and then the 5 minutes, but during the 2nd 3 minute I thought I would die. I will try adding a few minutes to my first interval and see how that goes. I'll try it in the morning. I just got back from shopping with my SIL, I am eating and then off to see Christmas lights at the park with my DH and DS. We haven't got there yet and it closes in a few days. Welcome to the Newbies. Have a great evening.

I'm Freaking Out; I'm Freaking Out; I'm Freaking Out; I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!

I saw some of the program too. The WLS they kept mentioning was the gastric bypass not lapband. I had 150 pounds to lose. Only 45 left to lose. Lapband has been the best thing I have ever done. You will love it. A few of the people in the show did not want to help themselves. That was sad. But if you are motivated. Stay motivated. Get out there and start walking and get ready fur surgery in February. -
For those wondering about flying...
SugarBean replied to littlefroggy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is not that you are NOT able to fly, it is just the air pressure tightens your band and make it difficult to eat when you are flying. Just double check your doctors advice before you fly. -
Does anyone use the wii fit??
SugarBean replied to KTATOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you think about it just about everything has a weight limit. ex. bicycles, soccer chairs, etc... I really do not think it is a bad design. Most lapbanders should be able to use the Wii fit within a year of surgery if not before. I know are family enjoys it. -
Well, I only got half way through the second 3 minute run and sputtered out. ughh!!! I ended up doing an hour of Wii fit after the treadmill. So I did burn a few more calories. There is a big jump between week 3 and week 4. I'll get it eventually.
-
I am getting serious about this C25k thing. It has been a thorn in my side since summer time. I have never mastered week 4 because of 1. lack of commitment. 2. All that varicose vein surgery and treatment. 3. lazy, lazy, lazy. I am off to the treadmill. Wish me luck!!!

Does anyone use the wii fit??
SugarBean replied to KTATOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We also got a Wii and a Wii fit for Christmas. WE love it. We do little challenges among all the family members. It is alot of fun and yes, exercise. But you do not realize it because you are having fun with the whole family. Check-out the Exercise and Fitness thread. I think there is a Wii fit thread. That might give you more information. -
What new thing are you going to do in 2009???
SugarBean replied to Tess415's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went to Dollywood back in November and was able to fit in a roller coaster and all the other rides. It was a wonderful feeling. A friend of mine is trying to talk me into going skiing. I am thinking about it. I would have never even thought about it last year at 304 pounds. I am much more confident about myself now and am more willing to try new things or do things that I have not done in years. I am not a thrill seeker, so I will not be jumping out of an airplane or anything like that. Yikes!!! -

Christine - I sort of feel like you. My last fill was a disaster. I got to the point that I could not eat anything, just liquids. I got an unfill. I am doing much better, but I might as well not think about eating anything before noon. Some days I am much tighter than others and it is frustrating. I want that full feeling not that stuck feeling!!!! I guess it is aggravating that this might be how it is for the rest of my life. Although, I have had wonderful results, I am just tired of being stuck. I never had anything stuck until my 3rd fill. I guess I was thinking the whole thing would be a breeze. BTW - eggs are out for me anytime of the day. They must be a dense food or something. They get stuck on me all the time. And I love eggs any way you can cook them - good source of Protein too.
-
Lacey - my husband I spent a few years at Eglin AFB in the mid 90's. We really loved the area. Kathy - neat video. It make you think. Well, I did sclerotherapy on my legs again. Another 5 days in these support hose. ugghhh.....
-
Yes, in the beginning my stomach made all sorts of noises. I really was not hungry, but the new plumbing made me growl and gurgle alot.
-
I started at 304. I never once considered gastric bypass. To invasive for me. I have lost 100 pounds in just under a year. The improvements in my health are amazing. My doctor gave me the informative speech on both. He had been doing bypasses for several years and has just started with lapband. He pushed bypass a little more. But, I have had great success with the band. They have commented that I am losing at almost the same pace as a bypass patient. Remember though that everyone is different. You really need to investigate both surgeries and then make up your own mind. Good luck with whatever surgery you choose.
-
Fenton - pop into a doctors office (clothed, of course) and ask to weigh in once a week. That will keep you informed. How long did you say you were going to be gone?
-
Okay, I guess I am the first one. Well, ugghhh!!! I am up 3 pounds from my ticker and not in Onderland anymore. SugarBean - up 3 pounds - 200

I would rather have Bob train me any day. He is fine.
