Scrappy - You have 18 more pounds to go. You have came further than any of us and have less to go to get to goal than any of us. You are darn right we are going to be your cheerleader. Go Shamrock, Go!!!!
-
Scrappy - I am right there with you. I have weighed the same (199 -200) every day for forever it seems. I have eaten more Christmas treats than I did sweets all year. I had such a tight fill in November then had to get an unfill. Now I am approaching being hungry after about 2-3 hours. My original goal was to be down to goal weight (150 -160) by the end of this school year. Things are going to have to change if I can even get close to that. I guess it is frustrating since I have done so well for so long and now everything seems to have come to a screeching halt. TOMORROW IS A NEW DAY!!!

potatie - What a thrill to be off that blasted c-pap machine. That thing drove me crazy. I know it was keeping me alive, but I just never got comfortable using it. I am so glad that I will never have to use that thing again. Also, congratulations on being almost at 100 pounds. What a awesome accomplishment.
-
Kathy - you are sneaking up on that 100 pound mark. :-)
-
Kathy - Very nice. You have some great website making skills. Are you able to use those skills in your new job? Went outside for a nice walk/run. 60 degrees but WINDY. My ears were burning when I got back.
-
Thanks Special K for fixing our little chart. I can't stand to see it out of alignment. My typing teacher would have died. LOL You may have to delete some of the little dots so it doesn't wrap around when we add our change.
-
Who will this change who i am
SugarBean replied to rumpelstilskin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel more confident in myself. I am more apt to try things that I would never have even considered 100 pounds ago. In general, I feel sooooo much better. No high blood pressure, no sleep apnea, no pre-diabetes, no leg pain, etc... I fit in a restaurant booth now with room to spare. All my changes have been positive. -
I have BC/BS Anthem from Virginia. They covered it and the fills. I paid around a $1,000 bucks or so out of pocket. You can get the hospital to set up a payment plan if necessary. You need to call your benefit coordinator at BS/BS Anthem in your state and check. Good Luck

It is most likely from surgery since you are just a few days out. You may want to try to drink a little slower if you think you are drinking fast. Walking is your best bet.
-
Walking moves the gas around. After my hysterectomy 4 years ago, I had horrible gas pain. But I did not walk. After the lapband I made sure I walked alot. I had very little trouble. I think I took a Gas X once or twice but had very little trouble until now. I know it is that I am eating or drinking to quickly. When I eat slow - no problem. Quick - killer gas pain in my left shoulder.
-
If you are just out of surgery, gas is a common thing. They pump you full of CO2 to expand your abdomen to be able to operate easier. Unfortunately, gas works its way right up into the shoulder and settles there. Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk. Also use Gas X strips.

I am probably the only one that does not have a Nike + Our computer crashed a few weeks ago and took itunes with it. I have no way of downloading tunes. So I am stuck with what I have. Just some random songs. Ughh..
-
Georgia - With me in the race, you won't be in dead last. LOL You will probably build back up quickly. Don't kick your self to bad. Just keep it up!
-
Kathy - the 6mph is only for 1 minute with about 2 minutes or so of walking in between. 2 or 3 times. If I can do that, why can't I run longer at a slower speed? I figure the short-fast intervals will eventually build my lungs so I can run longer-slower intervals.
-
Okay girls, I can't seem to get that 11 minutes. So I did a few short fast intervals then onto the elliptical for a bit and back onto the treadmill for some walking incline intervals. I figure if I can't make 11 minutes, I surely am not going to give in. I planned on burning some calories and I accomplished that. My 10 minute run was earlier in the morning. The last two times were later in the morning. Timing may play a part in it. Oh well, I figure I am starting the year out right by exercising. It is a beautiful winter day for a wedding. I still have to wrap their gift!!! Have a great day!!!
-
I have noticed lately that if I eat too fast I will get gas pain in my left shoulder. 2 GasX usually help. I am 9 months out. If I slow down, I am fine. But if I eat or drink something too fast it hurts.
-
I missed running today. DH and I both had eye doctor appointments, visited his relatives, and then helped decorate for a friends daughter's wedding tomorrow. It is an icy-wintery theme. Just beautiful!!!
-
Thank you Kathy - I need all the great encouragement that I can get. I feel like I am finally moving forward even though I did not accomplish what I wanted yesterday (11 minutes). I ran 6 mph for a minute a couple times. I could have never done that before.
