Leslie - Hellooo... does that lady not know that exersice is how you lose weight????? Next time someone says something like that, ask them if they have ever watched biggest loser. They sure do not start off slow and build up, like the c25k program does. Maybe she is just "concerned" and think you will hurt yourself.

chewable multi vitamin advice
SugarBean replied to Dee66's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take 2 chewable Flinstone vitamins. -
Rae - I see you are in ONEDERLAND too. Congrats!!!
-
We are band mates. I was also banded March 24th. GREAT JOB ON MAKING IT TO ONEDERLAND. I am not quite there yet.
-
Trish - I grew up in the northeast Philadelphia area (Bensalem, Bucks County) I also have (had) PCOS. I had a hystercetomy 3 1/2 years ago. I thought that would help me lose weight especially since the doc took out the ovaries too. No luck with losing after the hysterectomy. Your NSV (non-scale victories) are sometimes the ones that we really need to depend on. You lost some major inches!!!! Just think, you probably could not have done that as easily before the band. Keep up the good work!!!

I pulled a muscle in my shoulder a few weeks ago using dumb bells that were to heavy. So I have had to take it easy with the weights. Lesson learned. Start slow with low weights and slowly build up. Me I was trying to be Wonder Woman and go for the big stuff. I think I am ready to start again with low weights (my son can make fun of me if he wants) But I enjoyed doing the "8 minutes arms" on You-tube.

Whosya - Okay, Okay, I am a RUNNER. And I am actually enjoying it. I am looking forward to Wednesday morning. WK3 Day 2. BTW, I would have to get one of those big grandma padded bike seats if I were going to be a serious cyclist. Leslie - You are on your way!
-
Annika - have not seen you on c25k for a bit, I was wondering how you are doing.
My DH and I lived in Biloxi, MS while he was in the Air Force (about 12 years ago) I also teach (school librarian). It sounds like we have alot in common. I thought we could try to keep up with each others progress.
-
Leslie - I hope all went well with your first run today. I am glad you have a buddy to run with. My son was supposed to run with me, but he is a pre-teen that will not get out of bed in the morning to go with me when it is cooler. I know what you mean about having not run in awhile. I do not think I have run since high school gym when they made us run.

Going to be banded on 7-29
SugarBean replied to trialsnurse's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
trialsnurse - I am your biggest supporter!!!! I am soooo excited that it is finally your turn. Can you imagine our before and after pics at Christmas. July 29th bandsters: Good Luck!!! And get ready for a new you. :blushing: Get up and walk asap after surgery to help keep the gas at bay. (I did use a few Gas-X strips.) I did not think it was that bad. But, I compare it to my hysterectomy 3 1/2 years ago. Hysterectomy was really rough. Lapband not so bad. Walking was the big key. I did not do it for the hysterectomy. It thought the gas would kill me:ohmy: -
Renewed - Great job!!! I know that was a major accomplishment. I just finished WK3 Day 1. I am really enjoying this. I see such improvements from week to week. Day to day for that matter. I could never imagine myself as a runner. I am not sure that I have earned that title yet, but I think I will earn it one day. For those of you who run outside. How many people run on a track? I run on my little one lane country road. But I seem to hit that blooming hill on a running interval. Boy does it kick my butt. I think next week I am going to have to hit the track. 5 minutes on my road might put me 6 feet under. Happy running!!!
-
Well, I guess I woke up. I sort of jumped ahead a little. (I just finished WK 2 Day 3) I wanted to see if I needed to repeat WK2. I used the stop watch and my first running interval I ran 3 minutes, then 2, 2, 90 seconds..... (2min walks in between) The last 90 second run was rough. :scared2: But, I think I will move onto Week3. I never in a million years thought I could be a runner. Thanks so much for all your inspiration and motivation. I think I actually like this. :wink2: By the way, I run outside on a little country one lane road and it was 67 degrees @ 8:15am in the mountians of WV with low/medium humidity.

I am sleepy eyed this morning and needed a little push out the door. I came and read a few posts and I am on my way. WK2 Day 3. Wish me luck!!!
-
Do you usually plan a snack at 12:30 at night??
-
Lyn - Welcome to the "Band"wagon. I am so glad that your GI problems have been resolved. Don't overdue it. Wait until the doc clears you to run. Ang - You are doing great!!! I hope I can do the 5 minutes. I am just on week 2.
-
Kathy - GREAT JOB!!!! I remember it felt like such an accomplishment when I finished Day 1. I never thought in a million years I could do this. You go girl!!!
-
Kathy don't worry about your size, I am right there with you. Annika - glad to see you back in the right frame of mind. Yes, I remember that HOT Mississippi sun from when my DH was stationed at Eglin AFB. As for me I need to get back on schedule. I am working a few of my extra summer days at school and it has got me off schedule. I plan to run tonight when it cools down. I am on WK2 DAY2

Georgia - Way to go!!!! You got off the couch and started. I am proud of you.

Losing weight, No PBing, Slime, or Stuck
SugarBean replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Having the band in place gives you some restriction. "Just having the band in place" does not cause you to lose weight. You could eat all the wrong things and gain weight with the band in place. Some people do not feel alot of restriction and want a fill soon after being banded. Before my first fill, I was lucky and felt some restriction. I was able to eat small amounts (about 1 - 1/2 cups), I was not hungry between meals, and I was losing weight. Eventually I started getting more hungry between meals. When I got my first fill I felt more restricted. I could eat about 3/4 - 1 cup of food at a time. I am at a point now, that I need a fill. I am hungry between meals and find myself eating more and not really losing. -

Georgia - WELCOME to couch25k. Don't worry about being heavy, by the end of the 9 weeks you will be much smaller and healthier. I did not think I could do this because I am still a big girl, but I am giving it my best shot. :biggrin2: We look forward to hearing about your Week 1 progress. 86 pounds is awesome. You go girl!!!!!
