Your human honey. Just be patient with him and don't let him discourage you. Hopefully he will come around. Keep on keeping on.
-
Leslie - I am sorry that your DH is not joining/supporting you in your exercise. Some people are just not gym people (me) and are intimidated by all those people who can do much more than they can. Is your DH a little overweight or out of shape? He just might be intimidated by you. You are after all changing and growing (physically and mentally) Talk to him (non-confrontational) when it is not exercise time and ask him your his support. Give him time, he will probably come around.

August 1st - surgery day
SugarBean replied to lsullivan68's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
lsullivan - I am a Elementary/Middle school librarian. And yes, the best advice is to walk. Good luck!!! Post in a few days and let us know how you are doing. -
Stomach's growling but I feel restriction...what's going on?
SugarBean replied to nikole76537's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stomach growled alot when I was first banded. I was not hungry, I guess it is the new plumbing. -
That is fantastic news!!! I know you guys are beside yourself. I will be praying for a full recovery.
-
That guy is a whack!!!
-
Renewed - YOU GO GIRL!!!! That is so awesome. Twenty minutes Whew!!! You have encouraged me so much. I can't wait until my morning run.
-
Scrappy - you are doing great!!! You have accomplished a great deal. Keep that chin up. You have alot of support here.
-
Georgia - I do not like to get out of bed to run, but once I am out there it feels good. I sweat like a stuck pig, but the feeling I get when I finish is amazing. And yes, the support and the accountability from this thread has been wonderful. Thanks!!!

Tess - you may want to Google other Walking Intervals. You may find one that you like better or you may just want to stick with c25k. One day I think you will want to run. Walking intervals will just get you prepared for it.

Surgery Friday...Please Wish Me Luck
SugarBean replied to Tracyde730's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tracy - You will be one of the First "August All-Stars" Best of luck to you. My surgery was March 24th, my sister-in law just had her surgery yesterday. She is doing well. -
Tess - check-out the Reebok Interval walking program. It looks like you can walk 6 days a week. There is a training schedule at the bottom. Reebok Interval Walking PFV

Tess - I must have missed that you were planning on powerwalking. That should be okay to do several times a week. The program (either running or speedwalking) will really boost your energy and probably your weight loss. Although, I think I may be gaining some leg muscles right now. SpecialK - My PCP is very much pro lapband. His partner has had gastric bypass. Too many complications. I happen to be his first lapband patient, so I am treated like a prize patient. He asks questions upon questions and is excited for me. It is really fun to watch his reactions, you can tell he is trying to learn everything he can from me (the patient side of things) He had an intern there last time I was there and he asked almost as many questions. I guess I gave them a little education.

Tess- I sweat like a pig when I run. But, I love the feeling I get when I finish my intervals. BTW, you should only be doing the program everyother day. "Whosyadaddy" would scold you. He says to let your legs take a rest so you don't injure yourself (especially your knees).

No, I am not taking this drug. It is just where it got my flashy, glittery star. I am a true bandster, promise.

Tess - I was able to run today!!! My leg is not as sore as Monday and Tuesday. I did not really follow the c25k because of those darn support hose from the EVLT. My usual walk is out our little country road 1 1/2 mile round trip. So I walked a mile and ran the 1/2 then did a cool down walk. The hose were bunched up at my knee, so I do not think I can do the intervals until after I have the other leg done (next Monday) I have to wear the support stockings for 7 days after the surgery. YUCK. But, I am running!!!!!
-
Well, I modified my running today because of the EVLT and those "driving me crazy support hose" I did not feel as sore this morning, so I decided to hit the road. Before I started the c25k I walked out our little country road and back for a total of 1 1/2 miles. Today, I walked the first mile and ran the 1/2 mile back home and then did a cool down walk. I did not know how my leg would hold up, but it feels fine. :biggrin2: But of course, those darn stockings were bunched up at my knee. It would be tough to fix the hose between each interval. So I guess I will continue to do this through next week - I am doing the other leg next week. Joy, joy. I have to wear the support stockings for 7 days after the surgery :crying:

Kathy - Good for you, scooping out the 5ks in your area. The only ones that I know of is the Pumpkin Run in October and the Cavelier 5k in the spring. Both are very hilly. YIKES!! What else can I expect from the mountains of West Virginia. Renewed - I remember being with out AC in Florida after a Tropical Storm - YUCK. I am glad it is back on for you. My sister-in-law was banded this morning. I went to see her this evening. She is doing fine.
-
WTG WCM, I know getting a fill was a major step for you.
-
Kathy - Good luck with the interview. Wow 1 year off to have a baby, that sure beats 6 weeks in the USA. BTW, Great job with the running. After the brusing and swelling goes away, I am sure my leg will feel and look much better. I am doing the other leg next Monday. Joy joy!! My sister-in-law was banded this morning. My brother said everything went well. I am going to see her this evening.
-
Tess - thanks for the Dieter's Mentality post, I think we all need to be reminded of a few things. Also, I am bruised and sore behind my knee from the EVLT. I chose not to run today. I will walk or do the elliptical to keep me in the groove.
-
Kathy - Happy belated Bandaversary!!!!! 3 minutues used to scare me now it is the 5 minutes. Of course, I am down and out right now. I had the EVLT on my right leg that has left me bruised and sore behind my knee. Yuck. I think I will wait a day or two to run. Mamato3 - you are doing awesome!!! The weight will come off. We are all probably buidling muscles that we haven't used since high school.

Zephyr - Great job on the weight loss!!! You will love the support here. I am looking to have my second fill at the end of August. -
Sunwyse - I don't care who the "Couch to 5K program" was designed for. I just know it works. I was a little skeptical at first that someone my size could run, but I started looking at their weights and reading their stories and decided to go for it. I am on week 4!!!! There is a guy on that thread was over 400 pounds when he started losing weight. He is now something like 269 and is running 5ks and 10ks on a regular basis. Do you think think the Biggest Loser Trainers care how big the contestants are? No So, get out there and exercise, whether you do the couch 2 5k, just exercise.

Any other teachers being banded!?
SugarBean replied to MIGMOM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I do not always finish it. It depends if I get full or not. I stop when I am full.
