Well, tomorrow is the big day. I'm really nervous. I am glad I have a lot to do today with therapy for my kids and a karate Christmas party tonight I have to help with to keep me occupied so I'm not thinking about it all day. Any tips, prayers, and support are appreciated. Oh is there anything that would be good to pick up from the store before hand that would be helpful? Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App

Ok, lets hear them. What are some Post-op goals that you have after you get up and about. One of my goals is my kids and I do karate. I'm a purple belt currently but stopped when I started getting out of breath. Now I just watch as I help run the office. I promised my kids I would get back in it and we would do all the tournaments to go to state next year. My 15yo wants to buy a bow flex so we can work muscles to become stronger. I told them I could not start sparring again until doctor approval but I could do the rest I think. I will be talking to my doctor first though. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App

How did you tell your younger kids about your surgery
julie74601 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have younger kids and 2 of them have autism. My routine has been different pre-op because of me not eating normally. One of my kids are very nervous acting. I told them mommy will be hurt for a little while and I won't be able to do much. He keeps worrying and telling therapist mom is going to hurt herself. Any better way to explain it. How did you tell your younger kids about your surgery

Thank you, it is a little harder for one of my autism kids. The other doesn't seem to be bothered. I think the hardest thing will be keeping them from wanting to be on me. She is sensory seeking and loves running into people. My other little boy is very nervous. Plus dad is having surgery on the 29th as well. We have older kids to help out but don't want them to obviously get upset. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App -

Being cold is getting old!

Of course, in Texas when it gets below 50 we are ready to buy gas, hoard food and hibernate looking for the next semi warm day, lol. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App -

I just read my doctor is being sued. I am 1 week out from my surgery. She has done many surgeries with no issues and is at an approved Bariatric practice. Would you be worried? Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App

Our youngest is 6 and oldest will be 18. With a few more in between. Plus autism to boot. I get to go first because hubby takes his vacation towards the end of month so hopefully won't have too much time off work. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App

So far, we are in the waiting game. I started my pre-op on the 2nd. He has his endoscopy on the 14th and I have my surgery the 16th. He starts his pre-op diet on the 15th. If you want we can all keep in touch. I can let you know how it goes. My main concern is one of us being able to function while the other is down. We live in Texas. Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
julie74601 replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm use to stupid comments because when you have children with autism you hear all sorts of things but so far I've heard the I'm not heavy enough for surgery. I've heard about 2 people who knew someone who died and I've also had people who in an effort to sell me their products (wraps, beachbody) to try before I do something drastic. OK guys, I'm beginning to have doubts I can do this. I'm on day 2 of pre-op liquid diet. I am so bored already with my limited choices and starving to boot. I'm scared to death that I won't be able to keep this up after surgery. Please let me know I won't always be hungry. Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App
