  1. I felt the same way in the beginning, I was not meeting my intake goals either. It took almost 2 months for me to feel 100% again. I did regret it in the first 1.5 months, but after that, I've never been happier. Im 7 months now, down 100lbs, and doing things I've never thought I would do. Stay positive and think long term, you're going do great! The person that had the same surgery right before me felt 100% after just 3 weeks. Everyone seems to go at their own pace, just keep your doctor informed and stay positive :)

  2. I'm almost 3 months post surgery and m concerned that when I reach my ideal weight that the loss will continue. I'm almost there and portions are still ridiculously small at just 2-3 spoons. Has anyone fallen below their ideal weight?

Im 3 months out as well, and still get full from 3-4 bites. I'm already half way to my goal weight. I spoke to the nutritionist about it, and she told me it may take a while to eat more for some ppl. She said make sure Im eating slowly, if you eat fast, that could be causing it. Also to make sure Im taking the acid-reducer that they prescribed. She also told me not to drink within 20-30 minutes of eating. I also had a hernia repair, so she said it is possible that the swelling could take longer to go down. She said to have designated hours for meals, and not to graze throughout the day. If you have a nutritionist, you should see what they recommend you do. Im still eating 3-4 bites per meal, and i drink 2 Protein shakes/day as Snacks in between meals, which is what my nutritionist recommended.

  3. Im just about 3 months post-op, and I want to get in the habbit of tracking all the food I eat. What is a realistic calorie goal for 3 months? Myfitness pal keeps suggesting 1200, but there is no way. Also add me if you use it, greenem5 :) I found suggested Macros on a website that says 50%protein, 30%fat, and 20% carbs will promote weightloss. Does anyone else have a macro and calorie goal set?

  4. I miss coffee! And I just really want to take a full drink lol I've already experienced dumping because I drank to much Water and believe me ..it scared me to death! I go back to work on Monday and I can't wait to start seeing results!

I missed it for so long! I stopped drinking it about a month before my surgery so I wouldn't have headaches while I was healing. I was a coffee addict lol. I love the smell of it, but it feels good to get through my days without needing it. Good luck on your WL journey!

  5. I'm pretty excited today, I'm officially half way to my goal weight (120lbs/5'2"). I'm down 50lbs (CW 170lbs) and have 50 more to go to reach my goal. The first 50 went so fast, it had been slowing down a lot, but still seeing results. My old clothes are fitting and my pains are gone. Even my Gerd went away, I was nervous that it would get worse with the surgery, but I have no more issues with acid reflux. I can finally have coffee now, but don't need it for energy anymore. It was hard adjusting to these changes at first, but I'm finally at a point where I can say this is the best decision I've ever made (or at least one of them lol).

  6. I've been using the Patches since about a month out from my VSG, and my labs have been great. I've had a vit D deficiency and an Iron deficiency for years, I corrected the Iron issue pre-op but was still D deficient even on oral supplementation. It's now in normal range on the Patches, for the first time in 10 years. And I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it's not sun exposure that's doing it!

Thank you! Glad to know they work!

  7. Recently I had an irregular ekg reading... has anyone encounter this and if so what was your outcome?

Yes i had the same thing. My cardiologist said false positives are more common among women. I had to go for a coronary heart scan. Everything came back great, and the cardiologist signed my clearance stating the stress test was a false positive.

  8. I lost a decent amount of weight (before surgery) by adjusting my macros in my fitness pal. I did 15% carbs 50% Protein and 35% fat for a 1200 calorie diet. I definitely lost weight much faster cutting back on the carbs. Im only about 3 weeks post op, so im not stressing carbs yet because my meals are so tiny. When i can eat again, ill probably stick with the 15% carbs until i make goal weight. For maintaining weight, i read that 30%-50% should be carbs.
