    3 meals a day

Kelloggs protien water!!! Try it! And of course bring like yogurt or 60 cal pudding snack to get u to lunch, it wont stick to ur ribs, but it will hold you over
  2. Yes food does taste different. I do believe its because you have to chew it well, very well. Instead of inhaling it like we use too. I use to eat tuna with no probs. Well I hate tuna, now! lol Its nasty! Now that I have to chew it forever. Dont care for burgers either. Chicken is still good, ribs still good, potato's whether fried or mashed taste good and of course chocolate taste good! lol Veggies and fruits taste good, I think some junk food taste the same, but it depends on the junk ya know? I am becoming a picky eater!!! Thats crazy! lol

    Nausea 4 weeks out???? Help!!

I feel nausea's whether I eat or not. Its aweful and the smell of food dont help! lol
  4. I have been banded almost a month now. And the last couple of days I have had nausea. I dont have the flu, or anything like that. I have nausea in the morning and late evening. The very mere thought of certain foods make me nauseous. But at the same time I am hungry?! I feel this way whether I eat or not. I been sipping mint tea to help. Now.. I am not late for my period, my tubes are tied, which I know that I could still get pregnant. We got that warning during the educational meeting, about b/c and even if you are made sterile lol. Anyway I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I am just wondering how normal this is.. or should I take a early pregnancy test just incase, I am due in a week? :frown::thumbup::frown::tt2:

    Band Rules

yes Chew Chew Chew and Chew until its gross in your mouth! lol... I hate that part, becuz the foods start to taste weird after they are complete mush in your mouth. My Dr. Says no water/liquids for 30mins after eating. (mainly becuz they dont want you to push the foods through) I cheat at this, sometimes I have to have a couple of sips of water or the food doesnt go down.. (but dont do it cuz I do) I think thats it?! lol 3 meals a day 4-5 hrs apart
  6. Thank you for all of your advice. I, after I posted this, ended up with the worst migraine in the world! OMG it was horrible! I took 2 zomigs and still had a migraine. Well, I got on the scale and the scale dropped 4 pds! lol GEZZZZZ!!! I do feel like I am pmsing, water retention, headaches, chocolate cravings, exhuastion etc. I didn't really think about it. I did thought, hmm I know fat cells can hold on to all kinds of stuff. And I thought maybe becuz of that hormone could be messing things up. But I have lost weight before, but dont remember feeling this way. But then again I was on ephedra and it could of masked all of this? lol Anyway thank you all for your replies
  7. I am 3 weeks out and ever since I went on to mushie foods, I havent lost any weight. I actaully put on 1.5 pds. Now before you think, you are eating to much. I am not. I count my calories and it ranges between 950-1200 cals a day. I have good restriction. I stop eatting as soon as I am full. I eat my protien first. I do know I havent worked out for a week, because I have had bad migranes every day! Blah stupid hormones! Anyway I am just wondering has anyone like lose weight really well and for no obvious reason the weightloss freezes? And how long did it last? I am soooooooo scared that my body sux and I will have to go down to 500 cals a day just to lose any damn weight! I thought I would lose weight on a steady basis.. but for a week nada?! GRRR
  8. hmmmm Well I would think that 1000-1200 cals would be enough? I think its weird. But maybe its a shock for my system. I will give it another week and if nothing changes I will call up my Dr. and see what they have to say? THX
  9. Mariposa

OK... it's October now, what's happening?

just eat really slow!!! Chew chew chew! U will be fine!
  10. Mariposa

alot of it could be water weight! Dont worry be happy you lost 9pds in 2 days, gosh i wish i could do that?!
  11. lol.. I made my husband wait a week. Like with all the gas me in the mood ha! lol But after a week we did, and as long as he didnt lean on the port I was fine. I am 3 weeks out and I do notice a lil tinge of pain, not to much. But i get the same thing if i sit too long. I wouldnt worry, maybe different positions, with out me getting graphic lol.. use your imagination

    Mood swings from hell!?

I try to eat protien first before I eat anything else. And I am not moody or depressed becuz I am eating small amounts. Unlike most ppl who are over weight that wasn't the cause of my wieght issue. I rarely ever went to food for comfort. I ate less then what my husband eats and he is thin. My normal food intake before surgery was no more then 2500 average cals a day, but when I ate less I was always hungry. My body is disfunctional. Anyway I am wondering if it was the stress of the surgery or the stuff to put me under when I was getting the surgery. Or from eating less, its like my body could be starving and yet I am not hungry but my body chemistry might be getting thrown off by it? I just wondering if anyone else has gone through this? I use to take lots of supplements to help along with my meds to stablize my moods. Well I no longer take them, becuz the pills are to big. I dont know..
  13. OK.... I need some opinions! lol For the first 11 days I stayed on liquids. Then for 2 days mushie foods and then I just skipped to soft foods, mainly becuz my blender sucks and I had to chew the food anyhow. So I went ahead and tried soft foods and chew until its liquid in my mouth. Yes liquid! lol.. so I really honestly dont get the mushie stage.. if you chew it until its liquid, isnt it still the same thing? The biggest thing is trying to figure out what is giving me horrible gas? lol, I cant seem to pin point which foods. I eat, scrambled eggs, yogurt, pudding, Soup, cottage cheese, coffee, carnation sugar free Breakfast drink, 1%milk and for the last few days bad cramping gas. grrrr What the heck is causing this gas? I eat extremely slow, no liquids 30mins after I eat. I eat small bites. Anyone experience this?
  14. Mariposa

I dont get the mushie stage

Well you do have a point. I do chew my foods well, and I feel pretty healed. But I will lay off the dairy and see what happens. I been avoiding difficult foods, like meat and of course no veggies and fruits. So I am trying to figure out how to get protein. I dont think I am lactose intolerant, but it could be why I do have a lot of gas.. lol Its hard cause a lot of the good food is lol.. dairy! lol At least what I like. But it does make sinse as to all the aweful gas. I will be grocey shopping tomorrow I will get some non dairy stuff to eat lol! I will do that for a few days and see if I see a change! Thanks Guys! :bolt:
  15. Your Doctor has you on a clear liquid diet for that long? OMG!!! I thought 2 weeks was bad! But 4 weeks? Are you drinking Protein shakes? I would call your Dr. My plan was 1 week Clear liquids, 1 week full liquids, 2 weeks mushie easy foods and 5-6 week soft foods, I am on the easy mushie foods, altho I have cheated a couple of times lol.. But still here and didnt eat more then 6oz. My Dr. said at each meal he wants me to get 6-8oz of food. 3 x a day...And of course lots of Water.. CALL your Dr.. you are breast feeding you need more.. Good luck!
  16. How do you know that you stretch your pouch to much?
  17. Mariposa

    did everyone feel this

I am a lil confused about this "hunger" of course you are going to get hungry when your stomach is empty I get hungry every 4 hours on que! Then I eat and I am fine. Are yall talking emotional hunger or you getting hungry sooner the 3hours after you eat?

    Wanting my band out :(

When did you have your surgery? I know its normal to have remorse over something so life changing. I did while I was in the hospital wondering if I made the right choice. I am 2 weeks out and 8pds lighter and relieved that I did do it. I still get anxiety over the fact that one day I will be thin. Which is very new to me, seeing that I have always been a big girl all her life struggling with her weight! But its too late to get it taken out, unless its for medical reasons or if you have the money to remove it. Just give it some time. If you are still depressed, I would see a counselor you may wanna have someone to talk to while you lose the weight. Its tough, but its worth it once the weight starts to come off and you begin to feel healthier. Also, just a shot in the dark, if you are an emotional eater, its tough, because you can no longer go to food for comfort. If that is the case, then perhaps friends, family, psychiatrist or something else to turn to when things are crappy! You will be fine, everyone feels remorse after any surgery..
  19. I am a fast healer. Always have been. Anyway I was banded 2 weeks ago. I was on liquids for 11 days, before I went to purreed. I was suppose to start purred on day 14, but was soooooooo starved that I went to purred foods. I did that for 4 days, but my blender sucks, and I had to end up chewing the food anyways. I cant afford another blender ( yes i am that broke) So I just said screw it, I went to soft foods and I chew them really well. I stay satified for 4-5 hours, I eat very lil, less then a cup of food. I was suspose to stay on 2 weeks of liquids, 2 weeks of purred (which I dont get?) and 2 weeks of soft foods and then regular foods. I am just wondering if anyone else skiped a couple of steps and did fine? Also, I have noticed since surgury, I get painful gas bubbles stuck in my right upper side ( in the area of where your big intensent curves) Anyway I take gas-x that doesnt seem to help. I walk (hurts more when I walk) I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this too? :tongue2: Its like that stitch in your side, but its gas.. grrr

    Thinking about it...

Its up to you. But just like the other gals, its not like any of us cant lose weight working out and /or dieting. But sticking to it is hard. And if your furnace like mine doesnt burn very hot, and in order to lose weight, you have to eat very low cals a day and working out hard every day and only see 1 pd a week weight loss. Its not very encouraging to basically starve yourself, go to bed hungry every night, kill yourself at the gym and see only a pd a week loss if that. While the next girl loses 2-3 pds a week, not working as hard as you! GRRR So.. I give up, becuz yes I want to be thin, but cant stand living at the gym, having OCD on everything that goes in my mouth and starving every nite. For what a pd a week maybe? Not fast enough in my book for all that hard work! So.. the lapband, well, has cut out the hunger, I dont have to live at the gym, the 3-5 times a week of working out 30mins a day, and to see that I am losing 3-4 pds a week and I dont feel like I am killing myself to get that! Well is worth it! :tongue2: Thats why I got the lapband! Well one of the reasons!
  21. RedHead!!! You are doing great!!! 32pds lost, thats awesome! Keep up the good work, and you have been walking everyday, then its time to switch things up a bit. You body adapts to diet and exercising.. So you have to keep your body guessing. Try Yoga, different aurobics like swimming, biking or something like that. Weight training helps too. More muscle you build the more cals you burn. And dont worry girls dont get blucky when we weight lift, you just get lean looking and it helps with skin returning to normal. You can do this. Monday- 10 mins of yoga and then 20 mins of fast walking Tuesday- 30mins of upper body weight training Wednessday- 10mins of yoga and 20 mins of any aurobics ThursdAY- 30mins of lower body weight training Friday-10mins of yoga- 20mins of walking Saturday-30mins of upper body weight training Sunday- Take off give your body time to rest, be lazy!!! :wink2: If you do that for 2 weeks I will promise you, you will lose weight maybe even a tad faster. But dont always trust the scale, the scale while working out, only tell part of the truth. Muscle weighs more then fat and takes less space. So measure your inches too! If you wonder where I get the excercise plan, Body-for-LIFE Good luck! :tongue2:

    Im stuck

Yes its true that some foods do get stuck for a while, I have not experienced this and I hope that I will never will. My Dr. told me that certain foods are off limits due to them getting stuck more then other foods, bread, Pasta, rice and tough meats. No matter how well you chew bread it turns to doe in your stomach.. I have heard its uncomfortable to painful, sometimes worse. I suggest when you do get the LB.. chew your food well, and take it slow!!!

    Hi all!

I am sorry that your family has to be sooooo mean about your weight. I know in a weird way they think they are helping you, but in fact they may be making you want to eat more. You may wanna speak with them, let them know that you are taking measures to become healthy again, but you dont need the unhealthy comments about your weight and what you eat. And that you will need support for the up coming year. Encouragement. I just got the lapband 11days ago, lost almost 8pds and doing great. I know what it means to be the big girl. I am white, but I always been teased that I am built like a black woman..lol I dont mind :tt1: So what I got a bootay! lol.. Anyway you are doing the right thing, make healthy choices, the surgury is easy.. but to get to that point you have a road ahead of you! I wish you the best!!:confused:

    Crushing Meds

do you put your meds in like icecream or something to help have them go down easier? Maybe a small glass of milk? I have to crush most of my meds, but dont have probs with them hurting my stomach. You may want to see if your meds come in liquid form or other forms besides pills..

    Nervous and Excited!!

Well I suppose its better to ask the hospital I had finger nail polish on my toes and fingers and had Deo on and I am fine! And if that is the case, which I know many years ago it was, for the O2 reader, they would ask you to remove fake nails, they dont ask that now. O2 reader can read through nail polish. I been to the hospital many times with nail polish on and it read it just fine. Anyway just go by what the hospital says, many have different ways of doing things. With some places its not fine and others it is.. JUST ASK! :rolleyes2:
