    What do we need!?

I'm going to add that I think gas x was a god send for me, there was an insane amount of pressure in my stomach and nothing brought me relief till I got desperate and picked some up. It was the day after surgery and it was super necessary for me. I will second the sugar free popsicles, they helped make me feel human again lol

Not going to apologize for being vain

Girl I feel you, the amount of selfies on my phone have gone up tremendously. I have never felt or considered my self beautiful until very recently, it's a nice feeling and a bit of a confidence booster. Continue to do your thing girl, let's all continue to slay!
  3. You're a beautiful queen who doesn't have to take **** from nobody. You have your revenge bod and a good head on your shoulders. Continue to slay girl because you're killing it.
  4. Stalls are common and happen frequently. Talk to your doctor if you're concerned, but I stalled after a week as well and stayed that way until about 3 weeks out. My Weightloss tends to happen in intervals, like I'll be stuck at the same weight FOREVER then I suddenly lose 10lbs in two weeks
  5. I'm a post op so cal Kaiser patient! Good luck! They booked me pretty quickly after I finished my classes, it happens so fast!

How do I start the process?

I started just by asking my pcp, she said I did qualify for it and referred me to a bariatric program. My insurance is through Kaiser, which is pretty much a one stop shop, they have basics pcps and different departments with every kind of specialty, I was lucky that Bariatric surgery was part of their offerings. From there I just followed their program and it went from there.

    What to tell people?

I feel you about your sister telling people . My sister and I used to work together, then I transitioned into another job. I'm still friendly with a lot of my previous coworkers and she went to town telling everyone! I was so frustrated, especially since the people I've told are sworn to secrecy. I've told 6 people, 6! So far my mom has admitted to me she told 1 person and my sister hasn't been shy discussing it. Only 3 people at work know, and they're incredibly trust worthy, I'm very fortunate they haven't said anything. Honestly though, I'm 3 month post op and nearly 40lbs down, no one has really noticed? I think it's because my coworkers and I see each other every day, so it's not like suddenly I'm a brand new person. 1 person has asked what I'm doing, I just say low carb and strict portion control (which is the truth).

Pain - Does it ever stop

I promise you it gets better, you were me in post op lol, I hated all of my recovery and I just long to feel normal again. Give it another week, you'll feel 1000x better then. It took about 4 weeks for me to finally feel normal again, but I promise you this misery is only temporary.

    First NSV!

The point where I knew I wanted surgery last year was when I went to the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood, CA and I couldn't ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It was so embarrassing, I went with some girls from work and because my restraint didn't make that third click, they quickly ushered us off the ride to a tester seat, no one knew what was going on (except me) and I finally had to YELL at the team member just to let them ride without me. Because literally no one knew what was going on and I just kept saying "just let them ride" and they were like "no no let's just check really quick" and I just said "please just let them go" and they were like "let's just check to make sure " and I finally just blew up and said "CAN YOU PLEASE JUST LET THEM GO!" Everyone was so understanding about it but it definitely put a damper on the rest of the trip (it made it incredibly awkward for all of us). I always feared going back, out of heartbreak and just being traumatized by the whole experience. A couple weeks ago I learned a few friends wanted to go check it out and out of fear I almost bailed, but today my sister and I went to check if I could (I've lost 45lbs since that incident, so ya never know) and BOOM, fit with NO ISSUES! A team member overheard my excitement (I was crying) and he gave me a front of the line pass so I didn't have to wait in line! It was one of the most magical moments of my life, makes all the pain and hardships worth it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Sure, my stats are: Highest weight: 285 Surgery weight: 268 Current weight: 239 Total weight loss: 46lbs I've been struggling a fair bit, i didn't lose any weight for a while after my liquid diet because I indulged a little when I could eat solids again, but I'm back on track and things are going well. I'm in Los Angeles, CA. Had my surgery at West LA medical center. I DID have to lose 10% of my weight before my surgery, and it was difficult since it was over thanksgiving. I have always done the low carb high Protein diet. And to be honest, I lost most of the 10% in about 3 weeks before class ended (just so I could make the weight, yeah, I'm bad). I did it by eating high protein (poke bowls were a constant thing in my life), no sugar, and walking a lot. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
