Finding the courage to get gastric sleeve done in Mexico with a BMI of 33
MonicaVee replied to newlifeat41's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi, I had gastric sleeve done with Dr. Ponce de León in TJ Dec 2016. I had a great experience his team was very professional and kind. He is one of the leading Bariatric surgeons and I highly recommend him. -
Wow congratulations you look fabulous!

For about a month now I have been waking up very nauseous and throwing up yellow vommit. I’m assuming it’s my stomach acids, usually its in the early morning but also happens mid day occasionally. I’ve stopped drinking wine, cut back on coffee to 2-3 times a week, I still smoke marijuana about once a day or 4-5 times a week. Other than that I eat pretty healthy, low carb, low sugar, very minimal dairy. I can’t pinpoint the cause of this vommit. Any help input, or has anyone experienced this before? I was sleeved Dec 1, 2017 SW 300 CW 200

Wow you look great! I need to throw out my scale too. I weigh myself daily and have become a little obsessive. I love noticing the changes in my clothes.

Holidays were good spent Christmas in a cabin in Tahoe with about 16 family members. We all cooked including me since I love to cook and my family loves my food. I had plenty of taste testers so I wasnt tempted to eat the food once i had the taste of it in my mouth... that was a very good move on my part. Having food out all day was hard to see but i just kept myself busy or went to my room and had quiet time. Ive always been the life of the party so my family felt guilty that i was separating myself from time to time but i just explained to them that it was what i needed to do. Still to this day i feel no regrets. -Monica

I am 19 days post op and moving on to mushy food tomorrow. How is everyone doing with their post op diet? Today was the first time I threw up after eating a spoonfull of scrambled eggs two small pieces of potato and an inch piece of bakon. I find that if i don't drink my Vitamins and Protein in the mornings my energy levels are very low. Other than that ive been walking anywhere from 30 min to an hour every day and feeling good.

calling all December 2016 sleevers!

I just had my surgery yesterday Dec 1st in Tijuana by Doctor Jaime Ponce De Leon. The whole experience has been really good all of the doctors and staff are some of the friendliest I have encountered in a long time. I was expecting to be in a lot of pain post surgery due to the gasses but I've been walking a lot and doing my breathing exercises. So far the worst part has been throwing up the red liquid from the gasses. I followed the preop diet strictly and started walking 45 min everyday for a week before surgery. I go home tomorrow and have a 7 hour ride home. I look forward to this new phase in my life. Here is a photo of the morning before surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
