Thank you Raymia! Your kind and complimentary words are greatly appreciated. Sometimes I'm so focused on getting to the goal, that I forget to acknowledge how far I've already come. I still have such a long way to go but I feel so blessed that I will have the sleeve as a tool to help me get to my destination. Thanks again, for sharing your thoughts, as they definitely make this journey I'm on a little easier. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! -
Looking for mentor or buddies...

Hey Lisa! I would love for us to be buddies. To add someone as a friend I believe you have to use the actual Bariatricpal website instead of the app. Via the website click on a member's name to reach their profile page and then you will see the option to add the member as a friend. Good luck with your surgery on the 12, mine is scheduled for December 14 and yesterday my surgeon's office called me to ask if I would like to move up my surgery date to December 6, due to a cancellation. I have been debating the pros and cons all night. I think I'm probably going to stick with the date of the 14th, to give myself more time to prepare, and to gather the supplies I will need for after the surgery. I apologize for rambling on and on. I'm just thinking out loud to try and make up my mind, and I'm nervous as hell about the surgery. Lol. -

Hello and good luck to everyone! My surgery is on December 14. I met with my surgeon today and he said I did not have to do a pre-op diet, because I've lost 20 lbs since he saw me a month ago. He said I just needed to do liquids only, the day before surgery. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! -

Hello everyone! My sleeve surgery at Kaiser West Los Angeles, is scheduled for December 14 and I'm going to see my surgeon Dr. Kim for a pre-op appointment tomorrow. I'm a nervous wreak right now about the appointment and the surgery. Has anyone had their surgery at Kaiser West LA? I've read so many sleeve surgery success stories, but the stories of sleeve surgery post-op pain, complications and failures, have me filled with anxiety. Should I be as insanely nervous as I feel right now? Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin!

What Were Your Thanksgiving Triumphs and Tribulations?
OneReallyBigBird replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
Hey everyone. I went over to my sister's house where she had prepared a Thanksgiving feast. I watched my Cowboys football victory, and then I watched the whole family eat all the turkey, ham, dressing, mac & cheese, candied yams, hot buttered corn, buttered bread and an insane amount of Desserts. Lol. However, all I had was a slice of turkey, and a little bit of ham, even though my Pre-Op diet doesn't start till the first of December and my surgery is on Dec 14. I'm quite proud of the fact that I was able to resist tasting even a little bit of my sister's sweet potato pie, and her ooey gooey pumpkin cake, with whipped cream and ice cream. Lord knows it was hard to resist! LOL. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! -

Thanks for your awesome comments. You're totally right about the need to deal with depression. I have been seeing a therapist for just over a year now, and it has helped enormously. I knew I needed help dealing my anger and regrets about the past. I figured I needed to work on improving my mental health, while bettering my physical health. I also do a lot of mindfulness meditation exercises, which I strongly recommend to everyone as well. Thanks again, I greatly appreciated your wisdom and insight. Thanks for the kind words and optimistic outlook. Sometimes on this journey I have to remind myself of just how far I've already come.
