I have to take anti-nausea medication just to drink one protein shake a day (30 grams protein). Ugh I'm so ready to begin feeling normal again! This time away from eating has taught me the difference between head hunger and real hunger (I think anyway!) I struggled at first, but the last two days I have been free of craving my old favorites. How exhausting lol -
Healthy beverages besides water.

I use the Walmart brand Crystal light, too. It never occurred to me to mix them up! Brilliant!! I love the pink lemonade and fruit punch flavors. Cranberry is my favorite juice. Thanks for sharing!! -
My sleeve was much more painful. Gallbladder surgery was less than a day in the hospital, but my sleeve was 4 days. However, I will say that it is less painful than the birth of my children. I only had two incisions from the laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. For my sleeve, I had seven.

4 days post op foot pain

I'm not sure about the diabetic neuropathy, but I do experience nerve pain in my feet from lower back problems (nerve issues). It's possible that laying down puts pressure on a nerve. I recommend asking your doctor. Good luck! -

My worst experience so far was the horrific pain I woke up to after surgery. The pain was terrible and not managed well with the medications I received in the hospital. I stayed for four days due to the pain and inability to drink fluids due to nausea. I was up ten pounds from the IV fluids. My experience with pain does not seem to be typical. I do not respond to most pain relievers for some reason :/

I hope you have a good day! Hopefully you can sip fluids throughout the day It's so good to hear that you feel great at two weeks. This gives me hope!

I have no idea why I'm hoping to find out next week when I see my doctor. It seems like a lot! -
I watched this show post-op at the hospital. It was the episode with the man who had a prescription drug problem and a love of pizza.

I'm six days post-op and have an uncomfortable sensation of my insides moving/readjusting near my sleeve when I get up or walk around. It hurts a little and makes me a tad nauseous, but it only lasts for about a few seconds. Is this a normal sensation? I would love to hear your experience! I'm hoping this feeling goes away soon.

The binder helps. Maybe I'll try making it a bit tighter. Thanks EmmyJ -
The anesthesiologist gave me a small shot of lidocaine so I couldn't feel the IV insertion. It was wonderful!

Did anybody gain weight while in the hosp?
hopekate replied to Elizabethtash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After four days in the hospital, I was 10 pounds heavier because of the IV fluids. I'm finally feeling human again! My surgery was last Monday (April 3rd). My iv hand does not look like a balloon anymore -

That's a good question! I know the dr used a DaVinci machine for the operation, so maybe that's why. I'll ask when the dr comes around tomorrow. -

I went in Monday for the sleeve. The pain I had after waking up was horrible. Things calmed down after a few hours. Every time I started to doze off my oxygen would drop. They moved me to another section of the hospital to monitor me closer. They put a cpap on me Monday night but it didn't do much good. I ended up trying to sleep with the oxygen tube in my mouth. They did this because I sleep with my mouth open. I was pretty good pain wise until last night when I was in tears. My stomach was very sore from the 7 holes. I was a lot better by mid afternoon today. They just have me honey to coat my stomach. My swallow test yesterday went well. I'm still on oxygen and staying another night. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow! Sorry if that is confusing! I'm not really with it yet :/ -

I'm on day 6 and somehow managed not to slip up! I have between 3-4 premier protein shakes a day and loads of Chrystal light. This all feels so sudden despite the 7 month wait lol -
Tomorrow is my last day before being sleeved! I know the day is going to go by too fast. My nerves are a little frayed, but I'm ready! I have to be at the hospital Monday at 11:30am with the surgery at 1pm. I will try to post my experiences! Good luck April sleevers!

What to bring to hospital?
hopekate replied to lhvpac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go in on Monday! Yikes. I'm bringing chapstick, a phone charger, ear buds, a half-crocheted blanket I'm working on, and my computer because I have to grade papers on Wednesday. -
I'm on day four of my pre-op diet of 4 shakes a day. Day two around dinner was really tough, but it seems to get easier with time. It's exciting to be in this last step before surgery! Good luck all

I hope you are feeling well!! How exciting--Congratulations!

I didn't have a sleep study either. My surgery is April 3rd. I was glad to skip that!

I am also the first surgery of the day at my hospital. They are going to call this Friday to let me know the exact time. My first day of pre-op shakes went well. I looked forward to chewing my Bariatric fusion vitamins at breakfast and in the evening. My hubby had to travel this week, so I do not have to make meals twice a day! My daughter picked out healthy meals for this week for herself. Our fridge is full of sf jello, applesauce, chocolate shakes, and pudding. I'm so ready to do this!! I can't wait to talk to you all from the other side! We are so close now [emoji1360]
