Any advice before gastric sleeve. Anything you wish you had known
DeLynnM replied to neo77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting past the liquid diet was the worse part to me. I still think I would puke if I took another drink of protein. This is something that I still need to get past as I am only 5 weeks post op. Good Luck on your adventure. :-) -
My PCP was totally against me having the surgery so I went straight to the Dr that I wanted to do the surgery. I researched all the docs in my area and found that one that I felt comfortable with . They then organized all of the visits that were needed to get me approved through my insurance. This process can take months on top of months so get started early. Good Luck!!

I had my gallbladder out at the same time as my gastric sleeve. The gallbladder gave me no issues what so ever. The only pain I had was the incision that they pulled the stomach out through. Good luck with your surgery, you will enjoy not having the nagging pain anymore. I sure do!!!

It took me a couple of weeks before my main incision stopped killing me. It went to a dull pain after that and totally went away around 3-4 weeks post op. Hope yours gets better quickly. -

I am 5 weeks post op and am cold ALL THE TIME!!! and... I live in Texas! I'm driving my family crazy adjusting the thermostat all the time and my husband has threatened to kick me out of the bed when I but a fourth blanket on our bed. Can't wait for spring!!!!! -
Glad to see this, I have been stalled for a week now (started at 3 weeks). Today is my 4 weeks. I'm ready for it to start moving again so I can stop being so frustrated.
