I think I've joined ww at least 20 times in the last 10 years!! Often I join twice or even 3 times in a year, do it for a month or so and quit. I even once got the 16 week pin... sad thing was in that 16 weeks, I hadn't even lost 16 pounds! (too much up and down from week to the next losing the same 2-3 pounds and gaining it back!) Now I sort of want to join ww just to get those pins and keychains and things. I never, never, ever, got my 10%. In the last 4 weeks, I have totally lost 10% of my weight! Does anyone else feel this way? I feel it's a bit like revenge!

Time Off From Work
littlefroggy replied to bdxx2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a slower recoverer I think.. I had the surgery Monday, Aug. 18 and took a week at home. The following Monday I went to a computer training for work, and was sitting most of the day but felt AWFUL! By Tuesday I was better, but still sore. I had a difficult time until probably Thursday or Friday of that week sitting for too long, as it hurt my port site (I found out later I had a slight infection.) However, it was also one of my busiest weeks (because I had a lot to catch up on) and had 12 hour days every day that first week back. I was told 4 to 7 days and was expecting myself to be a four day person, as I am pretty young and have few health problems! Nu-uh! I would say it was at least 10 days before I felt really well. At the hospital, the nurses were calling me a "superstar" because I was walking around so much and becoming very active, but that was not at all a prediction to how long it took me to feel good again!! -
Does anyone use calorieking.com? I signed up for a year and so far LOVE it. It tells me the grams of Protein, carbs, Fiber and everything, along with calories, Water, exercise, etc. I totally suggest it. It's $55 for the year or $7 a month.

Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?
littlefroggy replied to Jennie1976's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's not really my look, but I will totally be dressing hot! Lowrise jeans, tank tops, etc. Maybe mini skirts will become my look. A cute jean skirt with cowboy boots???? Looks sexy on some girls... maybe it will become my thing too?!? I have always liked the sort of 50's look though, with a-line skirts and little cap sleeved t's, or strapless sundresses with a billowy skirt. I think those things are sexy and cute. So I voted no! -
I was in last week and the nurse told me to schedule a fill for 2 weeks from now. I am 4 weeks out from surgery, but haven't yet been able to eat more than 3-4 oz at a sitting, am almost never hungry (only on the rare occasion that I wait a LONG time between meals- like 6 hours) and am having a hard time getting in even 700 calories. I am losing weight rapidly. I emailed the dietician but she is out of the office due to some personal issue for a few days (I think she needed to go see family out of town for an emergency.) Anyway, I am hesitant to schedule a fill, as I have to take off work and everything, just to go and then find it makes things worse. BTW- I have never PBed or vomited or anything. I had no restriction during surgery.

Mine was very light, but lasted twice as long. I did have a lot of gas and cramps as well. -
Line of pureed meals for Lap-Band patients
littlefroggy replied to Baires's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I never did a pureed stage! I was on liquids for 3 weeks now am on soft foods. I can eat crackers, pretzels, chicken, eggs, veggies, fruit and so forth, as long as I chew well. -
Do you still enjoy eating?
littlefroggy replied to Sooverit!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to eat until I felt gross... I would eat a whole package of Cookies, or totally over eat on take out until my stomach hurt! That was NOT enjoying food! Right now I am enjoying how little it takes to make me feel satisfied and I am enjoying the numbers on the scale going down. I went out to eat and enjoyed the company and my appetizer! You will find other things to enjoy! -
Living with Roomies?
littlefroggy replied to SoCalCass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, I think you won't WANT junk food for awhile... second, it's scary to think about what could happen if you cheat. I had a WHOLE tub of Cookies on my counter since my pre-op diet and amazingly STILL have not had one, and I can eat food now. Stock up on the things you need to eat and focus on your healing. It has been harder for me since starting food, as we often have goodies at work, but even then, I have not cheated and tried any big no-no's. You are going to want to do what's good for your body! -
how much weight u lost in first2 weeks during liquid diet?
littlefroggy replied to nizee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually GAINED weight in the hospital (water weight from the IV I think) and it took at least a week for that to go down. I think I lose a few pounds every four or five days... it pretty consistently will be the same for a number of days then I have a big drop. It took almost two weeks to lose the 8 pounds I gained from the Water, then it dropped like crazy for about two weeks. I have been the same ALL week this week, then noticed this morning I dropped another 2 lbs! It's very erratic for me. Over the last 4 weeks I have lost about 23 lbs. I think 12-15 of that was in the first two weeks (counting water.) -
I also had a low calorie intake for the last few weeks (always less than 600) and now I am eating food and also taking in about the same amount! I am trying to figure out what to do as well. I think if you are hydrated, feel good and are healing well it should be ok... just get the Protein in, that's the important part!

I am amazed at how full I feel on my soft foods!! Today I ate: Breakfast - 1 oz tuna (I would have had eggs or something but hadn't been to the store yet!) Snack- 1 oz tuna lunch - 2 morning star farms chik nuggets, 1 slice of zucchini (cooked), 1 bite of canned diced peaches (those little snacky ones in the plastic to go container that go in kid's lunches) Snack - sample of polenta at grocery store dinner - ??? I know I should have slowly introduced these foods, rather than eat so many different things. It's amazing to me that I ate lunch as 12:30, had the snack around 3:00 and am still STUFFED feeling!

Tomorrow at 1 pm I have my dietician appointment to get my mushie diet instructions... well, what do you know? I blew it just now! I made some tuna salad w/ fat free mayo and mustard and had about an ounce. I feel fine and I chewed really, really well... The thing is, I have not been able to tolerate the Protein drinks so for the last 10 days have been living on Green Protein from Trader Joes (It's a juice and veggie drink w/ about 6 grams of protein in the bottle) soy milk and Soup broth! I seriously needed something! I probably have not been consuming more than 500-700 calories in the last two weeks as it's really hard to get them in when I don't have the protein drinks! Surprisingly, I have felt good, but well, I guess I justified it since tomorrow is the day I would start anyway. Hopefully the 18 hours won't make a big difference! I am going to sit up until I think it's been digested!!!

I've got HIVES really bad....HELP!!!
littlefroggy replied to rcoleband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My guess is it's an ingredient in the drinks you are having. You are probably taking very concentrated amounts since it's all you are drinking! I started to get sick from apartame. Just take away some foods (start with whey, then move on) and see what it could be! -
Can someone please help with a food list
littlefroggy replied to LemonZest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to add something else... it may be the artificial sweeteners in drinks like crystal light. I was getting sick from those and cut them out of my diet. Check and see how much you are drinking! -
Newly Banded - Ques. about Gas & Portion Size
littlefroggy replied to TrishaLight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked the dietician about that (I have a post called "chugging liquids" somewhere on here) and she said that was normal, as there is no restriction. Once the swelling goes down, you are able to drink much more quickly. I am on a similar regime (the sweeteners make me sick and I'm allergic to dairy!) but I am having soup most of the time and soy milk about 1/3 of the time! It just tastes better to me. -
Realistic Expectations
littlefroggy replied to Renob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it's important to keep those expectations in check! It's also important to know what my doctor said is that on average people lose 60% of their desired weight. So if you want to lose 100 lbs, the average person loses 60 lbs! that means to get to goal you need to work HARD to get there! -
Does the band make your "feeling full" signal work stronger?
littlefroggy replied to CapitolChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still on liquids (3 more days!) and I do feel satisfied with about 4-5 oz of something to drink-- even non-calorie drinks. I don't LIKE the full feeling now, it makes me sick. I had Soup, AND a popsicle the other day and it was TOO much and I didn't like it! I feel like I have been pretty good about not taking too much in at once, and just feeling satisfied with a small amount. I hope it continues! -
Can someone please help with a food list
littlefroggy replied to LemonZest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiberous foods-- I think those are things like asparagus and pineapple. My doc said they are hard to digest. As for Frogs, I think you need to drive the four hours to see your actual surgeon. It sounds like you need to have a check up because you shouldn't be having those problems. -
Can I lift my 26lb toddler after surgery??
littlefroggy replied to Leighann's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it might be time for a toddler bed!! My doctor said nothing over 15 lbs! And believe me, if I try to move some piece of furniture or lift something I can FEEL it! -
Extra cost for hernia in surgery?
littlefroggy replied to rn_82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry that happened! My doctor told me if they found a hernia during my surgery (also self-pay) that he would just fix it for free because it's only a few stitches. Try contacting your doctor's office and see if they can settle it up for you! -
I think my port incision might be infected. It's reddish/pink, tender and still hurts. I am just over two weeks post-op and still in a bit of pain. I can't get to the doctor though! I am just starting a new school year and can't take time off so soon. I can't use Neosporin because I am allergic to sulfa and I don't know what else I could put on it. I dribbled some hydrogen perioxide over the scar and it fizzed up like crazy. I tested some of my other scars and it didn't do that! Any ideas of what to do? I am also not sure if it's just part of the process.

Port Incision
littlefroggy replied to littlefroggy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just thought I'd update everyone on my situation. I was at work yesterday and looked down at my blouse and their was a big wet splotch on it. My incision site was oozing like crazy. I went to the school nurse (I'm a teacher) and she put a bandage over it but didn't do much else except to tell me to call the Dr. and get in ASAP. So I called, but not until school was out and had my appointment this afternoon. They "scooped" all the gunk out of my wound and it is like a gaping hole in my belly (EW!!!!:scared2:) I got some antibiotics, some sterile Water, tons of gauze, tape and lots in instructions. They want me to clean it with soap and water, make sure to WIPE out any yucky stuff with gauze and it needs to look pink (like hamburger she said.) She said bleeding was good. It was so nasty I wanted to barf! And it hurt while she cleaned it out. SO.... if you think there is even a LITTLE redness or soreness that doesn't seem normal, go to the doctor. Amazingly after the scooping torture, it stopped hurting! The good thing is she said it should be good enough in 3 weeks for a fill. :thumbup:The bad thing is she said no yoga, and my first class is on Sunday with a friend. :lovechoc: I also thought it would be best to NOT include a picture now because it is super disgusting. I am also worried now that I won't have a neat little scar but a big fat thick one... -
I think I am having my period but it's just been some super light spotting and mostly sort of a darkish red color. It was bright red only for a short time. It has been about 4 days of this strange spotting. I am thinking this is because of the big trauma I just put my body through and the hugely reduced calories... am I correct? I am incredibly regular most of the time and it started on the first, which was the day I anticipated my period would start. Thanks!
