Probably not the best thing, but when in a lurch (stayed to late at work, terrible traffic, wouldn't be home until 8:00) I have twice gone to taco bell and got a regular beef taco. They are 140 calories. I just get one. I like it as I know it's something I can digest, since it's made of all approved textures and things. The corn tortilla shell is not the best, but it's not the worst either. The McDonald's... not a good choice! Remember- no bread!!!

I had surgery Aug 18. I went into surgery at 258... On 8/28 I weight 244... ( 14 lbs lost in 10 days) on 9/4 I weight 236... (22 lbs lost in 14 days) and now it's 10/2 and I weight 235. I've lost one lbs in a month! What is wrong????? I AM WORKING OUT! I AM keeping my calories between 900-1100 calories. I feel like crying!:cool2: I am self-pay and feeling really disappointed in myself. There are times I have eaten sweets and things, but I have always remained under my calorie intake for the day in that case. I just don't know what's wrong!!! 2x a week 30 minutes walking, light weights
-
Thank you everyone! I think I actually deleted some part though! I am swimming for 45 minutes 3x a week AND walking 2x a week for 30 minutes. I also do yoga one day a week for abut 1 1/2 hours, but it's not aerobic, just stretching, relaxing and holding my muscles in painful positions!
-
I did it again tonight, and I'm telling you- it's awesome! Nothing "wimpy" about it... like what you think of when thinking of regular water aerobics!

First off- I ate 1025 calories, so only 25 over. I also worked out for 45 minutes, so I think I did pretty good! --my calorie counter lets me add extra calories for the day if I work out, but I am trying to stay with the actual program. 6:30 am B- 3 chicken wings (yes, weird) 10:00 am S- 1/4 cup egg salad 12:45 pm L- chicken w/ teriyaki sauce 5:00 pm S- 5 morning star farms chik nuggets (soy) 8:30 pm D- 5 chicken wings (after workout) I think it was a weird day, but I kept under the right number of calories, etc. I need to somehow get down to 3 meals a day! -

Program Fee (to surgeon) & WLS
littlefroggy replied to Notmywil's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My doctor did it too. They also said you got a water bottle - whoopty doo- but I didn't get that. I'm self pay, so it was one more thing to pay. I just paid it because I really wanted to have my surgery at that hospital. -
Check and see if your local yoga studio has a "gentle" class. I am in a gentle class and a lot of the people there are overweight or elderly, so everyone has some sort of adaptation to do! I love it! I have tried doing a video but need to be there in person!

B- egg salad (1 hb egg w/ ff mayo, mustard, etc.) S- 1 pita chip w/ hummus L- 2/3 cup of teriyaki chicken meat S- pria bar D- (this was not so good!) taco bell beef crunchy taco and 1/3 of a container of pintos and cheese That all only came to 786 calories! -
That was just my dinner! I had egg salad for breakfast 2 turkey meatballs for a snack teriyaki chicken for lunch (no rice) a cheese stick for a snack! THEN I had the mac n' cheese and wings!! Amazingly under my calories and everything!
-
I know I am still under in calories for the day, but for dinner I had: 1/4 cup macaroni and cheese (lean cusine) 4 honey bbq wings My tummy is making weird noises. No pain, just strange rumbling noises. What do you think? It took me about 40 minutes to eat.
-
I didn't know that! My total intake in calories for the day was 995. I also worked out for 30 minutes (Water aerobics class) so I actually earned some more calories if I wanted them. I had 31 carbs and amazingly 85 grams of Protein today! My personal goal is to eat no more than 65 carbs and get at least 65 grams of protein. I don't like the feeling of being on a no carb diet, so I just keep it even so I am not getting a whole lot carbs in a day. Also, this was the first Pasta I have tried since being banded. I don't eat rice, bread or anything else like that.

Having trouble getting into a routine....
littlefroggy replied to anniedub's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Maybe sign up for a class? That will keep you motivated to go! Maybe something like swing dancing or something you have never done before. -
On Friday when I went to the bar, first thing I did was order coffee! I was pooped! I can hardly stay awake on Friday when I go out! After my coffee I have a drink- this time a real one! Vodka cranberry or a sweet martini like a cosmo or an appletini would be my choice now since I can't drink carbonation! I had a very delicious lemon drop last weekend!

B- 2 oz. Shredded bbq pork on 3 bagel crisps L- egg salad (1 egg, ff mayo, mustard) D- 2 turkey meat balls, 1/2 cup teriyaki chicken S- 30 very mini vanilla meringues (30 calories) I have a hard time keeping it to 3 meals a day... what about you all? From looking it seems like you eat very little. I guess I do too, but I feel like I am constantly fighting the urge to snack, hungry or not. I also eat a lot more at night than in the morning. -
I went shopping today! I felt like it was a desperate situation, especially for bras, as the straps are sliding off my shoulders and the underwires are hurting. I bought 2 bras from LB (buy one get one 1/2 off) Then I got a cute cropped jacket and a short sleeved turtleneck from LB too. From torrid I got jeans (size 22!!!!) and two sweaters (size 2x) The jeans were a must as the ones I have are all super baggy on my butt! I was stoked! Last time I went to Torrid I didn't buy anything because the clothes were too small! I was up to a 28 at my highest (275) and they only go to 26! Whooo-hooooo!!!!

Who eats Carbs and is banded
littlefroggy replied to coltonwade's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do eat carbs, whole grain crackers mostly. I want to get in fiber. I don't like the feeling of being on a low/no carb diet. It makes me feel yucky and I think it effects my breath, skin, hair, my bowel movements and the odor of my body for some reason. I try to eat equal carbs and Protein. I have been losing slowly. I find if my calories are low (1000) I lose. Regardless of what I eat. of course, I get in my 60 grams of protein a day and try to stay low fat, but I eat things like olive oil and avocado which are not low fat! I eat whole grain crackers, tortillas, and ww bagel crisps. I usually eat one serving of either of those a day. My doctor told me to limit it to 2x a week... but I haven't done that yet. -

I have had breaded chicken and tolerated that fine. I also eat a lot of soy products like Morningstar Farms chik nuggets and tolerate the breading on those just fine as well. My doctor told me to limit it to 2x a week... but I haven't done that yet. -
Throwing up..can anyone give advice??
littlefroggy replied to Martie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said to go on liquids for two days after vomiting. He said vomiting causes trauma. Maybe you aren't giving it time to heal up after throwing up? Try going on liquids if you vomit. -
Mine got very white and crusty for a bit but I didn't touch it. I let it be and it was fine.
-
I was told that overcooked or microwaved meat will do that! Be careful with what you are eating.
-
You have to really work to find the right calorie intake for you. My doctor said it will be between 800-1000 calories. I spent a week around 1200-1400 and didn't lose! I spent a week between 600-800 and didn't lose! I went 3 weeks without losing, so I totally know how you feel! I had a fill and have lost again ranging from 900-1000 calories.
-
WOW! Congratulations!!!
-
My first fill was PAINLESS! And she said it took longer than usual because of some air bubbles... so don't stress out. Close your eyes and it will only be a little teeny, tiny prick!

I realize I do have a bit of a problem with snacking. I can't eat much at one time, so by 7:30 today I have only had about 400 calories. I am about to have Peanut Butter and crackers which will bring me up to about 600 calories. My doctor is very strict and said ONLY eat 3 meals a day... however, since I can't eat much at one time, my three meals are not getting me much calories. Am I snacking because I am bored or hungry? I do worry about taking in too few calories. I had a fill 2 days ago. Also I exercised today and burned about 300 calories, so it makes sense that I'm hungry! I eat Protein first always.
