Hahahhaha! Just go back over your thoughts why your having the surgery - most of us have been there. All the very best darlz, go for it! Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone else have a tough recovery?
happyaslarry replied to chunkygirl679's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Please go see your doc. Even though you may not be having temps but feel hot and cold may be a sign of infection, especially 4 days out. I only say this as ths happened to me. Everyone is different but call your doctor. Always better to know for sure. Hope you feel better soon Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App -

Internal bleeding after Gastric Sleeve Surgery
happyaslarry replied to L.T.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg! I had internal bleeding. My surgeon was incredible. Had his own personal Mobile number. I was told by him that I was to ring immediately with the slightest worry. Thank god I did as I spend 4 extra days in hospital post 7 days out of surgery. Was given IV antibiotics and tummy injections for blood clots. He was brilliant. I bled more than others which formed a clot that got infected. Any signs of chills or temps its straight to the doc. He gave me a scan straight away and bloods were taken. I am so sorry your daughter has gone through this because my surgeon told me that if my inflammation markers didnt come down it was straight to gastric bypass. He doesnt muck around. I recovered quickly but I guess thats due to quick response. I sincerely hope your daughter will be ok. Im disgusted at her doctor. Im concerned about her 3 leaks. If all else fails please seek another surgeon and please keep us posted. I know exactly what shes going through! Love sent Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App -

I forgot something and hope I dont get blasted on here! Darl, I did every diet and really tried. I'll let you in on my secret- will power does not last when dieting. There is an article on this, I will try and find it. Will power is short term and thats why so many of us fail. Dont like the word fail so sorry about that. We are led to believe that will power will see a diet through and get the pounds off - its temporary and it was a dietician that told me this, then handed me the article to read. It was a light bulb moment for me. Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App

Im a twelve week post sleeve and I tell you this in pure honesty - each month I craved anything sweet, you name it I had to have it. The cravings totally stopped after surgery. I have not had one ounce of chocolate! I was addicted to chocolate! Do not miss it at all! I have heard that some people that were sweet eaters do go the opposite. I'd much prefer savoury now but I dont go silly with that either. You do whatever you feel is right for you. Im nearly 41 and had a baby at 40. So glad I did it. I have more energy and Im healthier than I ever have been. Having a bub at 40 made me wake up to myself - I need to be around to watch him grow. We all have our reasons but go with your instincts. Its a journey and a lifestyle change in many ways. Its hard to explain. I dont regret it. I wish you all the very best and acknowledge that you are seeking information. Smart girl! CONFESSIONS OF A BAD SLEEVER
happyaslarry replied to LA_lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Darl, your half way there already! What I mean is your being honest, up front and already aware of what your doing. Its OK! I love grapes and nuts so keep eating them! Just start again- and you will be back! Im sorry but most of us ( if we were honest) do one thing we shouldnt but thats life and we brush ourselves off and start again. You got this because you already know whats going on. So go for it! Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App -
Hi sweet I was on that antibiotic 7 days after surgery. I ended up very nauseous and heart palpitations and oral thrush. Keep in mind that it was only 7 days after my surgery and was through a complication post op. As far as having the surgery antibiotics for anyone should be fine. Just read the leaflet in the packet about side effects. Everyone is different and I gather my situation was a little different. Hope your feeling better soon! If I'm struggling now, will I cope after?
happyaslarry replied to theonejess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do this! Oh how I remember! Im 11 weeks out and my darlz, its all gonna be worth it. Try a different shake mate meaning a different brand. I could only stomach the chocolate Optifast but I had to put lots of ice in it- goes down better really cold. Keep the bigger picture in your head - you can do this! Who cares if your grumpy because soon enough your going to be the happiest you have ever been! You got this! Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App -
