Hey everyone!!! I'm from Ma too, I have an appointment with Glasgow and Glasgow in Norwood in two weeks. I went to a seminar there a while back and they seemed great, I was just wondering if anyone here was going through the lap band process with them or had already been banded by them??? My surgeon said he will turn down anyone, regardless of payment, even if they have a BMI of 39.9, which worried me because my weight fluctuates so much and pretty drastically and I still have about two weeks before I meet with my surgeon again. However as everyone here has said I'm sure there are more doctors out there that will be willing to take you... Best of luck!!! Allison

I have depression and anxiety, I have been on meds since I was 12 but over the summer I finally started weening myself off, and I've been doing great without them. However, I'm still worried that my past psychological problems might come back to haunt me. I hope everything works out for you, let me know and good luck!!!

I am pretty new to all of this, I have my first consultation with a surgeon two weeks from today and I am so excited. I have been researching lap band for about six months. When I first learned about the lap band I was so excited I told a bunch of my close friends and family, and got a lot of mixed responces, many of them said that I could loose weight on my own (as if I haven't tried 10000 times) I was taken back by the amount of negative responces, so even though I was still interested I kept my mouth shut. Now I have only told one friend that I actually decided to go forward with this, if this actually does happen for me, I'm not sure what I would say to people. All of your comments are so great. I'm so glad to have found this website, you are all so strong and helpful. Thanks!!!

Hi there everyone, My name is Allison and I'm pretty new on this site. I have been reaserching the lap band for about six months, I attended a seminar and I finally made an appointment for my first consultation with the surgeon two weeks from today. :biggrin2: I'm really excited but I'm still kind of apprehensive. I've been doing so much reasearch I feel like I know all the of positives and negatives of lap band, but I guess a part of me still has my doubts that something like this could really work for me. I am still young but I have been on so many diets since I was eight years old its ridiculous, as I'm sure many of you can understand. Nothing has really worked for me though, and I guess I'm afraid I am going to have to spend the rest of my life overweight. Has anyone on here had a lot of success? No success? I would love some feedback about anything anyone has to offer me. I'm looking forward to hearing from you all! Thanks!

I know exactly how you feel, I have been reaserching the lap band for about 6 months now, I attended a seminar and I finally made an appointment for a consultation with the surgeon I have chosen, however I have little support from my family and friends. I am a college student and my family thinks this is too drastic, and that I can just loose the weight myself, my friends are also weirded out by the whole thing. I am really excited though and I have a couple supporters so thats all I need. Good luck with everything and I hope both of our families come around.
