Haha the opposite is always happening to my best friend. He is a very well dressed, well groomed, attractive, built, straight out of GQ gay 18 year old. Whenever he goes into stores, like banana republic, heritage 1981, gap, hollister, abercrombie, etc, people ALWAYS come up and ask him for a different size, or to let them in the fitting room... its pretty funny sometimes but he is always embarrassed when he has to direct the people to someone who actually does work there. We usually leave the store after that lol.

Hey there, I know how you are feeling, I have been with someone on and off for five years now, we met when we were sophomores in high school and have been inseperable ever since. We have had a lot of "relationship" issues, but we are always still best friends and he is always my #1 person to go to with any problems or anything and has been since I was 15. He doesn't understand what it is like to feel uncomfortable in your own body. He is very attractive and in great shape, and always has been. He is in a band and constantly has beautiful, skinny girls throwing themselves at him (hmm one of the causes of our "problems") He gets ripped on a lot for being a "chubby chaser" but simply likes girls with a bit more meat hehe. When I first told him about all this back in September he was like, "so are you gonna be skinny??" as if he didn't want me to be. He then called me selfish! It was so strange of him, he is always so supportive of me. I haven't told him that I am actually going through with it now. I know he is afraid that if I loose weight I will finally get fed up with his "antics" and leave him, friendship and relationship, for good. Our men will just have to appreciate when good things happen for us!!! When mine joined a really popular band with a recording contract and a tour schedualed for the summer, I knew it would bring "temptation" and probably a rift in our relationship, but I was supportive and I tried as hard as I could to be open minded and think of how this is going to benefit HIS life. I'm still his best friend and I don't want to hold him back from something that could change his life. Your boyfriend, and mine, should understand that its not their job to hold us back either. That sounds like a really good idea, although I'd have to clean my room, tehehe, The rooms I was in was nice and quiet, it was really just the wiring and tubes and the strange room and such that kept me up. If I have to do it again I will def look into having it at home. Haha you're story about the snoring sounds like me and my best friend, we sleep over each others houses a lot, but I remember the first time I stayed at his house back when we met in highschool his snoring kept me up for like, half the night! Apparently MY snoring kept him up the other half lol. We argued about who was the snorer all morning lol, now we just tease each other about it and he even brings headphones to my house now haha (Don't worry he's gay lol)

:thumbup: Hey guys, last night my sleep study was pretty brutal, I maybe dozed for about 20 mins? It might have been longer but I stopped checking my clock, I barely felt asleep at all. They guy didn't ask me to reschedual another appointment. Do I have to call my surgeon? Do I call the sleep lab? I really doubt they got enough information based on some light napping, I just couldn't fall asleep though!! I'm really worried this is going to set me back significantly. Any experience or advice with this situation, as I'm sure it is a fairly common one, would be greatly appreciated. Now its off to my psych eval Wish me luck! Allison

I know a lot of people loose 20 pounds or so just because of the liquid diet, so maybe you could start yours a little earlier? I know it sucks but it might be a good way to drop the weight fast and since you probably have to do it eventually anyways. Good luck!

YAY!!! Everything went good. The 48 hours of hell are over and I'm so relieved. Thank you so much for all the support guys!!! Half of me hopes to be banded the end of May because I start school June 2nd, the other half wants to be banded in May because I already feel so close to all of you and don't want to loose the support of this thread! Hey guys thanks for all the support. Ugh I hope I never have to do it again, if I do I'm definately getting some sleeping pills. The wires all over me were uncomfortable, but I especially didn't like the tubes going up into my nose *ew* The glue wasnt actually that bad, it all came out in the shower I took when I got home, I just washed my hair twice then used a deep conditioner, haha in case you have to go through this!! At my psych eval I brought up this concern and he (the psychiatrist or whatever he is lol) said if there was no sign of sleep apnea then I would probably be fine. *fingers crossed!!!* I usually have a hard time sleeping in strange places too. As soon as I got home at around 6:30 I took a shower then hopped in bed, I had another appointment at 9 am but that hour and a half long nap felt like the best sleep I had ever had lol. During the sleep study I remember looking at the clock around 2:30, then I kind of zoned out until around 4:30, I'm hoping this zoning was some form of sleep lol. Thanks again everyone!!!

Hey guys just checking in really quick before I have my psych eval. Sleep study was awful, I didn't sleep at all, I might of dozed off for like, 20 mins at the most. I really don't want to have to take another one! If I do then there is pretty much no hope for me being banded before school starts on June 2nd. The guy didn't tell me to reschedual or anything, ugh I don't know if I should call and make an appointment or call the surgeon or what. Everything else went alright, but right now I've been driving all day, by the end of today I will have spent 7+ hours on the road, and I haven't slept in maybe 35 hours?? Time to leave for the psych eval. Wish me luck!

Alright, I'm really really nervous about going to my PCP. I'm really bad at starting "tough" kinds of conversations. She brought up the idea of WLS a long time ago and at that point I had never really heard of it. She said she wasn't sure how she felt about it but it was always an option. So at least she knows about the idea, but she had no idea what types were available or anything. So now I have to go to an appointment to ask her for a letter of medical neccessity. I'm going to bring the big book about lap band with me so I at least have something to reference. I'm afraid she'll still be weird about it, everyone else is! Anyone have any good stories or advice about all this??? I have so much going on today and tomorrow and I'm sure before each appointment I'll be really nervous. Thanks!

Thanks guys! She was pretty interested, she has never had a lap-band patient before and only 1 bypass patient... So she was a little wary, just because she didn't really know anything about it. I tried explaining a little but she said she was really interested and would love to do some more research on her own, I'm hoping she gives the surgeon the go ahead!

oh yeeah and, BRING BACK MICHAEL!!! Now thats hes gone and I'm looking at whose left I really feel like he could have been the one.

THANK GOD!!! No more Kristy, now we can move on.... I bet next week Syesha will be gone, after that maybe Carly. This year is definately about the guys. I used to think, when the show first started, the last 2 remaining would be David A. and Brooke, now I'm not so sure and I'm sick of both of them. I really don't have a favorite, so who knows. Everyone seems to love Jason and David C. I like Jason, but he's just not the American Idol type, he belongs in a jam band or even could have a great solo career like Jack Johnson but American Idol is about BELTING IT and he just doesn't fit that bill. I think David C. is getting a little too cocky and its starting to make me want to puke, so does Donnie Osmond, I mean David A, and Brookes over the top gasping for air this is so serious I'm choking facial expressions.

I leave in like, 3 minutes to bring my boyfriend to school, then I have to go straight to school, then straight to PCP, then straight to work, then straight to hospital for sleep study, then striaght back to PCP in the morning, then home finally to change, then straight to school, then straight back to hospital for psych eval. I can't wait until friday night when this is all over!!! I'm freaking out! Thanks for all the good wishes! I'll definately let everyone know how it goes!!!!! I think I would have gone insane already if I didn't have this site lol!

So today is the start of the craziest two days of my life lol. I'm leaving in 10 mins to bring my on again off again (I don't know what else to call him lol) to school because his car broke down, and before I leave I have to pack my car with my work clothes and everything for the sleep study. I'm so nervous about all my appoinments and I really hope I can get there ok, after I leave I'm not gonna see my house again until tomorrow morning (I hope.) Ahhh I'm so stresssed, but at least I know tomorrow after the psych eval I will be like, 200 steps closer to my band, wish me luck!

Hey ama we have the same surgeon!!! I'm seeing Dr. Adam Glasgow, I have to go to Norwood hospital tonight for the sleep study and then tomorrow for the psych eval. How were your experiences?? Good luck with everything!

Hey everyone! My first appointment with a surgeon is this coming Wednesday!!! I am really excited and am really hoping this all works out for me, I am a full time college student who commutes to Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts, and I work as a waitress at a country club a couple nights a week. I was just wondering if there are any other current college students on here? I'm not the greatest student ever, and sometimes it can be really easy for me to get distracted with school and work and life and such... I guess I've just been stressed out lately, I'm so excited about all of this but I'm afraid I'm just taking on more than I can handle, just wanted to see if anyone else out there is going through some of the same things... In fact, I should be doing my homework right now... hehe Thanks!! Allison

Thanks! I'm really hoping to be banded the end of May, I end school May 15th and start school again June 2nd so its really my only window of time. My surgeon is in Norwood, about 20 mins south of Boston, its only about 40 mins north of my house so its not too bad. I'm just stressed out about tomorrow!! If you look at my little "checklist" in my signiture, you see I have most of my appointments in the next two days, along with school and work both days. I'm going to have to pack for my sleep study AND work before I leave for school at 10 am tomorrow morning, the hospital is an hour away and so is my school, but of course they are in different directions. AND I have to go back to the hospital for the psych eval on Friday, along with two stops to my PCP for a meeting after school tomorrow before work and then bloodwork after the sleep lab. AHHHH!

OH yeah but congrats about getting your journey started! Just don't schedual all your appointments on two days you cannot take off from school and work lol...

Hey angie, I haven't had surgery yet, I still have a bunch of stuff to do, I made a list of it all in my signiture and am checking things off as I go along. Tomorrow is the start of the busiest 2 days of my life. I have all the appointments to go to, 4 in total, along with school an hour away, both days, and work. I'm so dreading it....
