Hey everyone, I suppose after floating around these May threads since I first came to this site, I'll finally formally introduce myself! My name is Allison, I am 20 years old, I live in Attleboro, MA, and I love it here! It's about an hour south of Boston, and 10 mins north of Providence, RI. I am a college student at Bridgewater State College, in Bridgewater MA. I live with my parents (ew) and waitress part time for some extra cash. I have two dogs I love and lots of great friends. BUT I've always been fat, always, since early elementary school. Back then I was the only fat one, I lived in a fairly healthy, active family, but just kept gaining weight. Now my mom is overweight as well as my 11 year old brother. My dad and my sister are both athletes though. I have always been very active, participating in different sports and dance and theater in highschool, and have always dieted, but nothing seemed to get me at a normal weight. I'm so excited to have a date and I really hope everything works out!!!

Hey Laura, I know what you mean about the "I don't give A's teachers" I'm a sophomore in college and have dealt with a couple. One of my professors gave A's on papers, but wouldn't for a final grade!!!! I didn't get A's on all my papers, but still, if someone HAD gotten all A's.... and then ended up with a B??? Thats not right. I've had a lot of great professors in the two years I've been here, but there are def ones who think an A means perfect, and none of their students are perfect. There are also a lot of professors that think THEY are perfect, and no students can measure up to them, but I digress... Oh yes, and what you said about the interviews scares me! I have about the same number of B's and C's, with a couple A's here and there in my college transcript. I have also withdrawn from a few classes. As long as I can keep my GPA above the 2.5 required by my major (Art Education) I'm happy. I hope wherever I go looking for a job is too... Good luck with your classes in the future! I hope you never have to deal with this particular teacher ever again!

Oh my god!!! The same thing just happened to me!!!! I've been on and off with the same guy for almost 5 years. He is my best friend but he just started dating someone else, a senior in highschool with a great bod. He is known to like girls of all sizes, but its just been really hard on me, I pretty much could say everything you said about your situation and it would pertain to mine. He is still my best friend, but now it is super platonic (not used to that lol) and it KILLS me to hear him talking about her or to have him give up MOST of his time with me to be with her. Feel free to contact me WHENEVER with WHATEVER!!!! Were in similar situations with more than one thing!!!

I know me too! I'm so excited, at this point I'm just nervous about telling people, only 2 friends and my mom know at this point, I really don't want to have to talk about it to anyone else, I think when I tell people I'll be really blunt about it, "I've been fat forever and I'm gaining more and more weight so I'm going to have my stomach banded to help me control my food intake." If anyone has anything to say after that I'll be like, "thanks for your opinion but I've made my decison." Hmmm... sounds like a plan! How is everything with your family and such???

I am so excited for everyone, I literally have butterflies and all sorts of tingleys in my stomach for you May firsters!!!!! Marine I know what you mean! I love eating!!! It's a hobby of mine, well, obviously, lol. I know there are so many success stories out there, but there are also a lot of not so successful stories. I feel that this is really going to motivate me to do some good, healthy things for myself, I'll finally start going to the gym that I've been paying $20 a month for and hardly EVER go! I won't feel obligated to stuff my face when I go out to eat (well because I won't be able to but still...) I won't have this mentality of "why watch what I eat, I'm already fat, whats another couple pounds..." I am so nervous about what my dumb, judgemental friends are going to say, and how they are most likely all going to try to convince me to not do this, but I know this is the right thing to do and I couldn't be more excited!! Congrats!!! I finished all my testing and such and now I have a date! Its May 29th! I'm so excited but really nervous. There are so many of my friends that would be wierded out by all this, I'm not sure how to tell them. Good luck with all your testing and keep me posted

My friend, who is the 19 year old guy, does have to take a combination of pills everyday, he has epilepsy as well and takes one for that, as well as some type of hormone.

I'm sure everything will be fine! My best friend had a pituitary tumor when he was 17, hes 19 now and doing fine. They removed it through his nose as well. Now he is in college and doing great, I'm sure you will too! You're in my thoughts! Allison

Thanks Becky! Yeah I love living here, its perfect, right near the cape, right near Providence and Boston, 4 hours to NYC, about an hour to the mountains, everythings right here! Where do you love now??? Nantucket is beautiful but I haven't been there in years! My friends and I want to take the ferry to either of the islands this summer.

Aww thanks! Yeah people have been telling me to get a breast reduction forever, but hopefully if I loose weight they might decrease a little on their own lol. Ugh I start my liquid diet May 19th, 10 days before surgery, so not looking forward to it but I know I have to do it. When is yours starting??? Keep me posted and good luck with everything!!!
