My surgery is Monday and hopefully all will go well. I packed my own blanket and pillow for my own comfort . I normally do not get cold and always hot but since I lost 22lbs since i started my journey i find that i get colder now. I guess its up to how you feel and what you want to bring. Good morning everyone. This morning I woke up that knowing next week today I will be on my way to the hospital and my life will change for better . Its been a journey thus far when I started it July 2016 at the seminar and now I have 7 days left . Im excited, anxious and a bit nervous but more so very much excited. Looking forward to hear the my cardiologist tell me I no longer need to take my HBP pills or no need to start you on diabetes medication but the highlight will be when I reach my goal weight of 155 lbs . I have Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield NY insurance. How long did anyone wait before they got a response. My surgical coordinator sent the info to the finance dept at the hospital so they in turn could send it in to the insurance company. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 30th. I know many cannot afford to do that and trust me I'm not rich but I budget myself and i was not planning to touch my saving unless I needed to but since I knew ahead of time how long i will be out for i started saving since July after i attended the seminar so my rent is paid for Feb and March already as is my cable and cell phone bills. My credit cards i have not used since I paid it off b4 years end so i will not have any debt in the New Year which i do every year plus I only used my cards when I really need to do but like i said not every one can do this. I'm off for 6 weeks. I have no intention of rushing back to work even though I have a desk job. I'm fortunate that i have the support of my bosses and supervisors who advised me to stay out the time my surgeon said I should b/c my health comes first. So a few days ago I posted how I had spoken to a rep from my insurance company when they said I was approved and I was very happy at that but now more so when I received the letter in the mail seeing i am approved just made it all so real that it is actually going to happen on the 30th. Mine was between 245 -250 back in July and I am down to 223 and my surgery is on the 30th. My lowest weight was 146 after i had my daughter 28 years ago then my second lowest weight was 155 back in 2003 and i was content with that and which is where I set that goal to be for me again after surgery . I started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday , Jan 16th and as of today Thursday Jan 19th I lost 5 lbs already . From 245 in July I'm down to 225 . I lost 20 lbs already in total . Super excited .

Good to hear all is going well for you but since I am covered 100% I am staying the mandatory 2 nights just to be safe than sorry even if I feel good enough to go home the same day as the surgey. Thank you. I got the date at my first appt so it was a matter of doing all that was required. I was getting slightly anxious since its 11 days from now. So looking forward to the changes. Wow , that is quick. How long was your surgery? I was told it's about 2 hours and the recovery a few hours after. Seems a little questionable to me that your surgery and being discharged within 2 1/2 hours. Hope all continues to go well for you. I was told i will stay 2 nights .
