Ugh I get that! I have to constantly remind people that I'm not damaged and I can still go out with everyone and have fun. I can find something to eat every where I go (typically), but people are hesitant to go out with me. I feel like a shut in sometimes. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I have coated chicken in almond flour for a couple of recipes. I enjoy it and haven't had any issues with it. Coconut flour is also good. Experimentation is the only way I've come to learn Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I have been wanting sushi rolls recently myself. I have a few issues with even attempting it. 1. Biting the roll is just impossible, but putting the whole piece in my mouth is also impossible depending on the size. 2. It's also used to really chew sushi thoroughly. 3. I'm staying away from rice, pasta, bread, etc. I need to get higher levels of protein in and all that rice will just take up space. My advice is to start a new tradition. Try a new restaurant with foods more suitable to your new lifestyle. Perhaps try taking an art class together, exercise class, go shopping, movies, or a play. Change your visits to not be food oriented. It's so hard because that's what most people associate with good times and happy times. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I completely agree with you. I've been thinking about it a lot myself. My sister just got married and that was hard to not have a cocktail at the reception. I was never a big drinker, but I've been curious about when people have had a drink post op. I'm 4 months out. I'm going to continue to wait just to be safe. I'm 4 months post op VSG. I'm slowly losing steam with creativity with different foods for snacks and dinner. I've gone on pintrest and tried some things. What are some go to recipes you all use? Any websites/blogs you follow? Hope everyone has a great holiday! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm so frustrated! I was losing consistently and now I haven't lost anything. I go down 0.5 then go back up 0.5 or stay the same. I haven't really changed anything that I'm eating. I walk about 2 miles a day. I'm only 10 weeks out too. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

In need of some major guidance

Yeah tuna salad counts. I can't get it down just yet. It gets stuck and it's really uncomfortable. I'm going to try ricotta bakes for sure. I didn't think about sloppy Joes. I should try that too. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

I've started the pureed phase of my diet and I'm having a hard time incorporating protein unless it's a greek yogurt or protein shake. I can tolerate a scrambled egg, but that's about it. The thought of pureed meat grosses me out. I work in a nursing home and that's all I can think of. What can I do? I need more variety in my life. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel like you have been reading my mind and put the words down on this post. I've been overweight all my life and I'm so afraid of how I'll feel and how my life will change. I'm also very excited for the future as well. I'm such a mix of emotions. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Only peaches and pears. Bananas are too high in sugar and I can't have seeds so berries are out. I don't care for any type of melon so that's not an issue. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

My surgeon has the exact same program requirements. I'm also 3 weeks out. I'm feeling the exact same way. It's so frustrating! I had a spoonful mac and cheese yesterday and I felt so guilty. The behaviors are so hard to change. I'll be scheduling more therapy appointments. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I've recently upgraded my diet to include scrambled eggs, tuna, applesauce, pureed fruit and veggies, etc. I've been doing ok, but eggs and tuna get stuck in my lower esophogus behind my breast plate. It takes a couple of minutes for the discomfort to relieve itself. I chew each bite 30 times before swallowing. I make sure that they're both very moist before trying to eat them. Is this normal. Will it eventually become easier? Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

I had my sleeve done 7.19 I was super nervous too! I was considering bailing even as they rolled me into the OR. I can tell you that it is all worth it in the end. Some days will be hard, some days will be great. Your emotions might be all over the place as you adjust to your new lifestyle. Keep going though! I've found that this board and personal support has really carried me through. Make sure your support system is ironclad. Each person's journey is unique and I've learned that I can't compare my gains (and losses- as the scale reports) are solely mine and no one else's. We've made the steps to better our lives, what's greater than that!!! I wish you all the best of luck, smooth surgery, quick recovery, and the best of health. Stay strong!
