I'm really sorry about Lisa losing her dog. We lost ours last fall and it was very traumatic. Here is an online support group for those grieving the loss of their pets. Perhaps you could pass it along to Lisa. http://www.petloss.com/

Everytime I swallow, I double over in pain and throw up blood. Is this a PB?

*clack clack clack* Go stand nekkid in front of the bathroom mirror, lean over the sink and let those girls hang. Now, pull them apart and let go. Remember the Clackers? *clack clack clack*

Telly, if I looked like you after losing the weight you've lost, I'd be taking pictures every day too! Snap away, darlin', and keep sharing! Check out the reflection in the mirror. Nice tush girlfriend!!

Hi LaMadam "Consider the source" simply meant that when people are clearly upset and bringing personal fights and vendettas to the board, it IS important to consider the source of the motivation behind the post. (I edited this post to remove any reference to people in particular. I'm trying very hard to be careful about expression my views and opinions in a respectful way. I guess I also need to work on writing a post, walking away for a few minutes, then coming back to read it again before posting it. My apologies to anyone who responded before I could edit this note down to what I feel is a fair response to LaMadam's question to me.)

Newbie with a major question
PhotoNut replied to Mary Warren Williams's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Mary Your question is one of THE most asked questions by folks who are considering the band! There are a few who have gone thru some very rough times as a consequence of getting infections, band slippage, or erosion and it is easy to understand why they regret the day they even heard the word "LapBand". However, there are many many people who have been blessed by their band and are seeing tremendous results in their battle to overcome obesity. I am one of those blessed ones who has lost 90 pounds in a little under 7 months. While I am constantly aware that I have a band, I never feel it is an annoyance or hinderance to my life. I wanted something there to remind me every minute that I have a goal I'm working toward, and that goal is better health and self esteem. I wish you all the best in your journey. Please do keep us posted on your progress. -

Sending thoughts and prayers along with you Trish!! Can't wait to hear from you when you get home. You are so brave to have gone thru so much and to still keep on trying for this. I really hope and pray that this time around is a completely different and successful experience. **big hugs**

I cannot tell you how happy I was to see that post from Penni just now. Not because I feel any stupid petty battle has been won, but because of how important it is that everyone feels safe in coming to LBT and really sharing their fears, their struggles, and their victories with one another without the fear of that then being used against them in personal attacks. This place means the world to me and many many others who come here for help, support, encouragement, friendship, and advice.. and I am so pleased and proud of the fact that it means as much to Alex and the mods. Thank you. Sincerely, Susan

HEY FROM Kraggie Hope TN
PhotoNut replied to nothanks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Naw.. No need to make a fuss about it. I really don't mind. In fact, I feel kind of honored to have someone spend this much time and thought on me. Seriously ladies, it doesn't bother me so it shouldn't bother you. In fact, I would think that as many times as you've both called me Psusan, you'd see the humor in it as much as I and many others do. -
The phrase, "consider the source" comes to mind. Wise words for times such as these. I really hope everyone sees this for what it really is and doesn't get caught up in some stupid witch hunt. We have good moderators and we have a great place to come for support and friendship. If all of the facts have been turned in to Alex and the other moderators, then the only people that should be dealing with this are those involved. The Moderators don't owe anyone but Alex any kind of explanation for the way they handle their privilidges and his trust. Plain and simple. They are not public servants. They weren't elected to represent us. They didn't swear an oath to the members of LBT. This is Alex's business to deal with. And to stand and point fingers at the people who donate so much of their time to make LBT a great place while so much has been done to disrupt LBT and to hurt others.. well, it's just wrong. It's easy to get caught up in the 'soap opera' type threads, but in my opinion they do little more than wear people down and hurt others. I hope this one dies out quickly because it has to be the saddest one I've seen yet. It reminds me of an old western movie where two or three guys are on the front porch of the jail shouting things for the sole purpose of getting the crowd all fired up to lynch someone.

Mandy, what an awesome story and inspiring NSV! I laughed about the mirror. I would have been thinking the same thing! -
*shudders* Good grief, Vines. I remember you telling this story some time ago and it still gives me chills. Good thing your intuition was working that day! I was run over by a truck once, but it wasn't my truck and I wasn't driving. I was laying beside my ex boyfriend out on the lawn at a big party. Several of us had parked our vehicles on the lawn (big lawn). My ex's current girlfriend was mad because she couldn't find him and she got a friend to drive her to town to look for him. They jumped in the truck, and backed up right over my legs just above my knees. When everyone saw what was happening and I started yelling, the driver threw it into drive and punched it. Luckily he didn't have positraction and the tire that wasn't on my legs was the one that spun. It was a long time before I walked again, but I'm grateful that tire was 3 inches ABOVE my knees!

In my opinion, if this person was sincere in wanting to right a serious wrong, they would have quietly contacted Alex directly with their proof and allowed him to handle the situation in whatever way he saw fit.
