A month of separation from your DH and kids? Sounds like you've had a "fun ride". I'm glad your waiting is over and send sincere congratulations to you and your DH on the arrival of your new son. I imagine your family is all smiles right about now.

No fluro here. My doctor had me drink a small cup of Water after my fill to be sure I wasn't too tight. However, I have read about those who drink just fine in the office and before they get home they are gurgling on their own spit. So I think swelling may occur after a fill. If that's true, I wonder if the fluro shows any more than drinking shows? Sure, it goes through now.. but what about later? Everyone's stomachs are so different and the body can react a certain way one day and a completely different way the next. From all the posts I've read about people getting fills, I really don't think there's a way to eliminate the "trial by error" method of find the right fill. Luckily, I've only had one fill (1cc in a 4cc band) and I've found it to be perfect.

My doctor's orders are as follows: 800-1,000 calories per day (I've been averaging about 950) minimum of 60 grams of Protein per day (I average about 75) That's to be done in three meals per day, four hours between meals, and no Snacks. I can't eat enough in three meals to get that much in, so I sometimes have Fiber One Cereal or Pop Secret 100 calorie Kettle Corn for an early evening snack.

The ring of fire... isn't that what you get after eating 3-alarm chili? And by the way, bananas do frequent the liquor stores when the green cheese moon is at full and a half. Just so ya know.

Back out? Heck no... the time couldn't pass quick enough for me. I KNEW what was waiting for me and I could hardly wait to get started. Here I am, just shy of 5 months and 70 pounds later and I can honestly say I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Best of luck to you! -

I swear I would die from embarassment if I had to stand and let someone study my naked body - every inch of it. Good lord. I'd be so humuliated and mortified. I just don't think I could bring myself to do it. -
Marshmellows, Jenna, marshmellows. Get your mind out of the gutter.. so I have room to climb in there! LOL! OMG, now that would be a PB to explain... would it not?? LOL!

Ladies, your children are absolutely adorable. Cherish these moments with them. Time passes so quickly. But then.. just when you miss your little ones the most, along come the grandkids and you're back in business. Thanks for sharing the pics. Each one made me smile. *hugs*

OMG Penni! I was just saying that very thing to someone last night! Great minds think alike.

But.. but.. the cow took my stash. Otherwise, I'd be happy to share!

Twice now, the cow's jumped over the moon. I asked the spoon to run away with me, but it chose the dish instead. Oh well, someone has to stay behind and pick up the trash along side the road. Pass the tequilla... I feel a hangover coming on.

Only if we can bring banana cream pies. Oh think of the fun!

Junior high is out for the summer. The baby needs a diaper change before the keepers arrive. Pad the room, Doctor, we are expecting a guest! And someone change the cat box, the stench is making people hungry.

Go, Cissy, go! I'd rather weigh more and be lean and fit, than weight less and be soft and flabby. You're doing wonderfully! Keep up the great work!

Wow, if it were me I wouldn't be letting someone else decide what surgery they are going to be doing on me. If you don't want the RnY and you do want the band, then say so. If they don't let you have the choice - find a different doctor, FAST! I chose the band over the bypass for several reasons. 1. The bypass carried too many health risks for my liking. The bypass death rate is 1 in 100 whereas the death rate from complications with the band surgery is 1 in 1,000. Much better odds. 2. I saw no advantage over the band other than rapid weight loss, which I dont want anyway. 3. Slow and steady weightloss with the band. Allows time for the skin to adjust and is healthier by far. 4. I wanted to keep control over my life. I wasn't looking for a magic solution to my bad eating habits, I was looking for help. I want to make life-long changes in myself, not keep the habits and count on malabsorbtion to do all of the work for me. 5. Easily reversible, no permanent re-routing of my insides. I'm very happy with my decision, and I wish you all the best with yours. I would like to re-state my earlier comment though. If these Dr's make the decision for you... start shopping around, NOW.

I have to tell you... I LOVE your name! Because every time I first look at it, I think it says P fuk em. Which to me right now, says it all. *laughs* (I hope that didnt offend you.. If it did, I'll remove it asap!) *hugs*

Sherri... I couldn't agree more with what Vines said. With all the prep work you are going to do in the counselling sessions, just think of how far down the road you're going to be when you do get banded. Some people jump on the train and don't even ask where it's headed. Then they arrive here, clueless about what this journey will really require of them. The way I see it is this journey is about the whole you, not just the outside of you. Taking care of the foundation before building the house will give you much more strength. And, I'm willing to bet that you start seeing some weightloss because of the counselling prior to being banded. Your band journey doesn't just begin when you have the operation... it's begining now... isn't that awesome?! Being aware of what we eat and our eating behaviors is an essential part of the change that has to take place in order for this to be a lifetime achievement. All things happen for the best! PS - I went through several months of dealing with a second degree burn on my stomach a few months ago. Having first hand experience with burns, I know how much it affects your outlook on everything. My heart goes out to you!

Here in Boise, the price of houses have skyrocketed over the past couple of years. We have a lot of people moving here from places where small homes are going for $500k. They sell their home and move here to buy a house 5 times the size of their previous one, and then they pay cash for the new one. Keep in mind that the economy in our beautiful city hasn't improved very much. Jobs are scarce. But when you don't even have a house payment, you can live on a lower income - in style! Anyway, here a 1,600 sq ft, 3bd, 2 ba, 2 car garage on a typicaly lot will go for $200k. I was just talking to a realtor the other day and she said that 5 years ago, there was only one million dollar house in Boise. Now it's not unusual for someone moving here from out of state to think that a million dollar house is very reasonable. Well duh... they are arriving with $500k plus in their hands from the sale of their 2 bd condo! And trust me, the contractors see these people coming with fistfulls of the green stuff and suddenly the prices go up, up, up - which makes it very hard for the local people to buy a home.

Off Liquids. Uuuuuhhhhhh! Overdid it!

Experience is a great teacher, isn't it? Welcome back to the world of FOOD! Take it slowly and test the waters before diving in. If you like fish, Gortons makes some awesome frozen fillets that are very moist and easy to eat. They are grilled with no breading. Not sure if I've mentioned them to you or not, but since I love them so much I'll mention them again! *chuckles* By the way, I LOVE your attitude! -
I'd like to add my thanks to Alex and Penni who took the time to listen and care about everyone involved from an unbiased position. I know that Penni was put in a hard place over the last few days, but trust me.. she was very gracious, kind, supportive, and encouraging to me during a time when she was under a lot of stress. For that I thank her. And Alex just rocks. He came into the chat room with several of us last night and gave us time to express our concerns to him. He was very intent on finding the best possible solution to the upheaval of things with everyone's best interest at heart. I have served as an Admin/Moderator of chatrooms and online games and I am very aware of how time consuming it and annoying it is to have to babysit people who should be adult enough to handle themselves. It is typically a thankless job in which you cannot please everyone. I'm glad someone started this thread so the people who give their time and energy to LBT can get a pat on the back. It's nice to arrive here today and see that things are peaceful again. I hope it can stay that way. And now, back to our previously scheduled program...
