I just felt my port for the 1st time...
PhotoNut replied to GreatDame's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, you're too far away. Come a little closer and I'll let ya know. My stupid port sticks out so far it freaks me out. When I suck in my belly it goes down to where I cant tell its there. So I'm hoping it's only sticking out like this because my belly still sticks out. My port is few inches below my bra line on the right side. Annemarie - The port will be very tender.. Ok, it will hurt more than the other areas of your surgery because the incision is larger and the port will be sewn to the muscle. My port area took the longest to stop being so tender. You'll need to be cautious with it for the first 6 weeks. You know, bending and lifting, so you don't pull the stitches. -

Dang Beechee! I've heard of excuses for getting out of exercising, but that one takes the cake! LOL! I'm glad you're ok. Sincerely. I was rear-ended by a drunk driver in a truck a few years ago when I was on vacation. When I finally came to my senses and got out, the guy was trying to put HIS license plate on MY car, and my plates were still on! Anyway, I told the police that I wasn't hurt and went on with my vacation. My jaws starting hurting so bad that night, but eased off within a day or so. I came home a few days later and my shoulder was killing me so I went to the ER and told them about the accident. I ended up in therapy for my shoulder, still have problems with my jaws, AND I got a nice settlement from the drunk cowboy. So, I dont think you need to worry about not reporting it right away, but you should start seeing a Dr asap for your own health. By the way.. I LOVE your cheeks!

I have a date and a jealous husband!!!
PhotoNut replied to almostready76's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Insecurities and fear can often present themselves behind a mask of jealousy and often end up seeming heartless, cold and selfish. I salute those who care enough to see behind the mask and respond with understanding and patience. Real love can remove the masks and calm the fears. -

Not at all Jorjet. Anyone's welcome, anytime! Tell us a bit about yourself, and if you want me to add you to the Member's Page (The first post on page 1 of this thread) then put your stats in your post too. You'll see in that post how people show their stats. Then copy a blank scorecard and get started. The challenge started yesterday, and you wont get points for yesterday but you can still kick some serious butt with the remaining days! Welcome to the Club!

Hello from Wyoming !!
PhotoNut replied to michele6789's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Michele! Welcome to LBT! I'm in Idaho too, but I spent a good portion of my life in Cody. What part of Wyoming are you in? -
Ok, at the end of June, I will PM anyone who hasnt been active in the club at all. (No weigh ins, no posts, nothing) I know there are members out there who are still losing weight and I'd love to update them on the Members Page and move them up on the Honors Page.

Keep in mind that the GFG Club is not just about the Challenges. Those are just fun things we choose to do within the Club. The GFG Club was started for anyone who wanted/needed encouragement or support or friendship. So, I'm not looking at challenge involvement as a criteria for being active in the club. What I'm talking about are those who joined back when the club started and haven't weighed in or posted anything since. See?

Hi Cynthia! I'm so glad you checked in with the club. Someone grab Cynthia's hand and pull that girl out of the slump she's in!

The average expected loss is between 1 and 2 pounds per week. So, anywhere between 52 and 104 pounds would be an average loss in one year's time. Most people tend to lose faster in the beginning and then slow down later in the journey. Others go in spurts depending on their motivation level. I think it would be safe to say that - barring any medical conditions you may have that cause you to lose slowly - you could conceivably lose 100 pounds in a year IF you were vigilant about eating healthily, drinking the proper amount of Water, and exercising at least 30 mins a day. As you can see by my signature, I started this journey 5 months ago with the pre-op diet and am down 73 pounds. I also started at a very high weight, which usually makes it easier to lose faster in the beginning. Frankly, it will be up to you. What do you really want to achieve. Hmm? *grins*
