*nods to Telly* probably not enough water, good call on that one. Hang in there babe, its happening! Lins, you are so darling! I wont be posting any of my fruit of the vine pics! *laughs* If I looked like you I sure would! Paul, go back over to the XXX thread with those tight pants of yours. Over there you won't have to use the selective quoting. It's just.. right out there for ya! *laughs*
-
I dont blame you Telly. I avoid carbs too, only get mine from veggies. You probably should be getting more like 100g of protein per day and that's why your body's in a panic about wanting more food. Buy a cheap blender for those shakes, toss in some ice and that should help break up the concrete. *shoots a rubber band at Paul* Behave you!

Hey Telly, when you come home from a workout, head right to a protein shake. You're putting a huge demand on your body during workouts and it's gonig to require a lot more fuel, which should be protein so you don't lose muscle mass. It is very natural and correct to be taking in more calories when you are working out so much. A chicken breast is only 34 grams of protein and a bag of salad is hardly more than water when you think about it. How much protein are you getting in per day?

Wow, this is a wide open question with an answer I think you might have to find on your own. I've been toying with the idea of doing this as well and I know how daunting the whole thing seems. I know there are counselors who specialize in eating disorders and there are many different levels of qualifications in the counselling field. Do you have a primary care Dr that you could talk to and perhaps get a referral to someone? You might have to visit a few different ones until you find someone who you feel comfortable with and also someone who challenges you.

Im glad to see that you brought this question to a new thread Lisa. I saw it on the Before and After pics. When you say youre having a horrible time getting Protein down, do you mean youre having a hard time eating hard Proteins such as chicken, fish, or red meat because they get stuck? Or youre just having a hard time finding good sources of protein that you would want to eat?

Hiya Slim! Grats on getting banded and welcome to LBT. The best place ever for lapband support and info (in my humble opinion *smiles*)
-
I had such a great time with the last one, so count me in! My current profession seems to be drunkard. I'd be happy to provide a list of my favorite wines. *snickers*
-
I agree with Lins, Telly you dont need a fill girl. Now let's see *squints* I see people weighing in so it must be Wednesday? hehe Guess I'll go see if I can stand on the scales without falling off before I can figure out what it says. *comes back* Hmm.. Do you think two weeks of chugging the fruit of the vine (probably doubling my calories per day, or more) has caused this 2.5 pound gain? How odd. Stupid band... I want a bypass! *stumbles off laughing* C 224.5 (-82.5 lbs total, +2.5 this week)
-
woot! drunk again.. *meek voice* help *sways, falls over*
-
Nuh uh.. Cant prove it! :biggrin1:

Did you lose weight before your first fill?
PhotoNut replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
ousooner... I have done exactly what youre saying. I just passed my 6th month bandiversary and have still not touched breads, pastas, rice, or sugars. I feel like an alcoholic who knows she can NOT take that first sip or she'll be right back where she was before. A good healthy fear of PBs and eating around the band has rewarded me with an 85 pound loss so far. Dont anyone take offense to this, its just an observation and not a criticism or judgement.. It seems to me that those who follow the rules have much better (faster) success than those who don't. Those who don't may choose to believe that following rules is a set up for failing because one can only deny themselves for a certain amount of time before they crumble.. BUT I say this... I have rarely denied myself of any foods and I weighed 307 pounds because I have no ability to control myself. I am an over indulger with a love for food (for many different reasons) and if I could have taken a bite or two and left the rest... well, I wouldn't be here now typing this. -
:clap2: w00t! :clap2: Welcome to Bandland, Sis and Sherri!

I'm here. Kinda... Remember last weekend's plans to get drunk for the entire four days? Yeah, well that's lasted a big longer than originally planned. :faint: *kisses and hugs* to my Funny sis who's getting her band today. :clap2:

Ok, this one made me cry! Terri! *give you a huge happy hug* Im so happy for you hun! So happy! *sniffles* -
*staggers in* I did it. Got drunk every day since Friday. *laughs, squints* Ow. I found that cravings for horribly fattening foods assaulted me worse than the hangovers, but stayed true. I cooked a roast yesterday and that was basically all I ate through the day so I know that some of my weight right now has yet to pass. *snicker* I'm going to take yesterday's weight, just because I can. :grouphug: C 222.5 (-84.5 lbs total, -1 this week) By the way. I am really enjoying the break and Amy is doing a fantastic job! I woke up this morning thinking "Oh, its weigh-in day, I have a lot of work to doo..ooh Amy's doing it! Yay!" So thanks Sis, this break has been wonderful. *big smooches*

The three of you are NOT getting together without me. Hmph. Hopefully another Southwest Airlines special will pop up in time. Round trip for about $100 is very do-able! *hugs*

Nice work, Heather. I have a picture that my daughter drew and colored for me when she was six. I always wanted to turn it into a crosstitch pattern so I could preserve it. What program did you use? Share!

Just so y'all know. Funny is out of town for a few days so the Members and Honor's pages wont be updated until she returns. A big hello to all the new folks joining! :welcome: IMPORTANT REMINDER: Since there are so many of us in the club and each month's thread gets so long, it becomes difficult for some people to browse through because of all of the long signatures at the end of each post. So we ask that you un-check the "Show your signature box" before posting. You'll find this option at the bottom of the "Quick Reply" window and also in the Additional Options section of the Edit screen you go to when you click on Post Reply or on the Edit button. Thanks!! IMPORTANT REQUEST: I've received a few PMs from some of our members who are beginning to feel a bit left out and uncomfortable about posting on the GFG threads. We need to remember that we have a very diverse group of members. Young, old(er), male, female, liberal, conservative. It's important that we all feel at home here, and I believe the best way to do this is to stay focused on what the club is for. Weight loss and lapband support. I do encourage everyone to feel free to have friendly chats, but please be considerate and focus these chats around topics that everyone will want to join in or at least glean motivation and information from. We need to be cautious about offending others so that all of our members feel part of the group. I hope everyone sees that this isn't a critism of anyone who has been posting, only a request to leave room for everyone to participate. Thanks a bunch. You losers are the GREATEST!!

I have decided that I am going to get completely shit-faced tonight and stay shit-faced until Wednesday morning. If I show up in that time frame, just remember that I'm not responsible for anything I say or do and that I will return to my usual kind self on weigh in day! *evil grin* (and if you think I'm joking... you don't know me very well) Oh.. and by the way... Funny and her family have left to go out of town for the 4th weekend. I don't want anyone thinking she's left LBT because of any misunderstandings here. This was a pre-planned thing. So no rumors! *laughs*
