Hey.. I just thought of something. I had a Christmas album by Charlie Pride when I was a kid. The cover was a pic of him in a Santa hat. I adored that album and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Maybe one of you have heard of it and could help me get a copy? w00t! Oh, and thanks a lot Sis. I've listened to Mary Did You Know about 10 times now and Dawg is going to throttle you for getting me in the Christmas spirit this early in the year! LOL

Mary Did You Know sung by Clay Aiken (on the View) My fave version is by Michael English but I cant find a video of him. This is worth watching for some chills on your arms  Enjoy!

You're always welcome to put up a few of your own. *smile* -
Ive been getting bad shin, foot and calf cramps in the night. I believe mine has been due to dehydration. I get up and put a bit of salt on my tongue (hubby's advice) and sure enough, within minutes its gone. Be sure you're drinking anough water (recommended is 64oz PLUS 8oz per every 25 lbs of excess weight).

OMG, Telly!!! *grabs Telly's hands and dances around the room, jumping up and down, singing '"Telly's not obese! Telly's not obese!"

Didnt bother to check the carbs, Telly. I was after liquid calories and protein. I can find it and add it up for ya if you'd like tho. Here's another great site: www.nutritiondata.com

Hey Sherri, Are you drinking protein shakes? (lordy, I can hardly type LOL) I'll give you my recipe for one that has tons of calories and protein. Not something you want to keep up once you move on to higher calorie solid foods. I'll add the recipe to this post once I find it. *snorts a laugh up at Telly* High protein/high calorie shake for liquid phase: 8oz skim milk - 90 cal, 9g protein 1 scoop Strawberry Whey Protein - 120 cal, 23g prot. 1 can Slim Fast Vanilla - 180 cal, 10g prot. 1/2 banana - 50 cal 0g prot 1 tsp Splenda - nuttin honey Total for entire drink - 440 calories, 42g protein Blend skim milk, whey protein, banana and splenda together. Then stir in Slim Fast. For a variety, use different flavors of whey protein and Slim Fasts, and add different fruits. Bean with Bacon soup (blended until thick and creamy) is awesome for calories and is filling. Also has protein, but not a complete protein as it is from a veggie.

*ties up her tennis shoes* Im getting on the dreadmill right now. Someone do 15 mins with me?

It won't stop but it might slow down a bit, which is a good thing. Your goal should be 2 pounds a week. 300-400 calories a day is unhealthy and there's no way you can be getting in the right amount of protein, which is essential for good healing, fighting infection and maintaining muscle mass. At this stage you should be shooting for 600-800 and then moving up to 800-1,000 calories per day with a min of 60g of protein.

Grats Shelly. You were a lovely bride and your hubby looks like such a nice guy. You say the ceremony was at your house? I'm so jealous! That's my kind of homestead! Best wishes to you and your hubby.

*sets aside the jug and wipes her hands in an "all finished" manner* Ok, time to get back on track. Where's my bottle of water? Someone plug in the treadmill. It's time to get my booty to Onderland. *burps*

DianeChef! w00t!! Grats on the loss. The extra effort pays off. *hugs her gallon jug and peers at Funny* back off (laughing and smiling behind the deadly glare)

Wow, how cool would it be to see my story on Lifetime and Meridith playing me? Actually, Paul, I think James Brolin would be perfect for your part, with dark hair of course.

At 48 years old and 307 pounds, life was looking pretty bleak. My knees hurt, my feet hurt, my hips hurt, I looked like hell, felt like crap, and had almost decided to give up on the hope of ever being healthy or looking nice. One night I was looking up some information about Heart (the band) and started reading about Ann Wilson's lapband. I was fascinated. I researched the snot out of it! I wanted it. I wanted it NOW. I had hope again! But when I found out how much it cost, I plunged into depression and a big bowl of anything I could find to eat. A year later I had developed a hernia just above my belly button (walked around with it for the better part of that year, thinking I had cancer or something, too scared to go see a Dr about it). Through the course of seeing the surgeon about that, the lapband came up again and my mom said "Get it, I'll have the money for you." And she did! I got my inheritance early and what a gift. That was 6 months ago and my life is changing drastically! I feel alive. I love my band. It's kept me on the straight and narrow in the times I would have normally thrown in the towel and run back to the food. Best of luck to you in your decision.

What has been your "Wow" moment since you started your weight loss journey?
PhotoNut replied to ousooner's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My biggest WoW moment happened last night. Since my husband and I met, I have wanted to sit on his lap, hug my arms around him and lay my head on his shoulder. We were both morbidly obese when we met, so even the act of sitting on his lap wasn't possible - well not with any comfort. We were out on our patio last night, he was sitting on a chair with his legs stretched out on an ottoman, and without thinking I just stepped over his legs and sat down. We were talking and stuff, still hadn't really hit me that I was on his lap. He said something that made me smile and I hugged him, and then it hit me. I hugged my arms around him, hid my face in his neck and had a good cry while he held me on his lap. There'll never be a bigger WoW for me. -
Different topic, Telly. I wanted to be sure that no one thought we were telling people they cannot post on this thread.

I saw a post made by someone here that came in my email (subscribed thread) but the post was deleted so I'll have to respond by quoting the email: "Despite no one requesting I do so, I have chosen to delete said posts. By request, I will no longer post in this thread." Umm.. who requested that you no longer post in this thread?? It certainly wasn't me. All are welcome to post here, whether a member or not. The thing is, there are plenty of fun threads that are more appropriate for that kind of joking around. It's important to remember that there are a LOT of members who joined for positive support and find it frustrating to come to the Club and have to scroll through pages and pages of posts trying to find a response to a question they may have posted, or just to find a discussion about the band. When the club was started, Heather and I wanted a place that belonged to everyone who was in it. She and I do not moderated it, but a request to be considerate of everyone was in order has been in order on a couple of occassions. Relax, have fun, be friends, share things... but remember that there are over 50 members here who might not be interested in reading pages and pages of two or three people laughing and joking about something completely unrelated to anything this group is supposed to be about. Does that make sense? I sure hope so. And honestly, I don't want to offend anyone. I just want to speak up for those who are feeling pushed to the wayside and aren't sure how to go about expressing their disappointment at the change in the "feel" of the GFG Club. I really do love you all, and hope that we can keep going strong. *big smiles* Thanks everyone.

It's all good. *hugs Paul* We just have a lot of members who would be offended. I'm trying to watch out for them.
-
My apologies for how I said what I said to Paul. It was harsh and I could have handled that better.
-
OH my god! I just saw the Kathy Ireland pics! *throws a blanket over Paul and rushes him out of this thread before someone gets hurt* Telly, don't be so mean to Paul! *laughs*
