I had a horrible day with Fluid and Protein too. I also had some weird stomach issues. Tomorrow will be better for us!
-
I was more afraid of the catheter than the surgery, but I'm kinda glad I had it. With the sheer amount of fluid they gave me during my stay, getting up each time would have killed me.

Exactly what is included in full liquids

The coconut Isopure is my favorite. So far they've all been tolerable for me. Just, um, don't smell them. -
Contraception (TMI for some)

Are you comfortable with having an iud? That's my go to. -
Warning: I am bad at describing things. I got out of bed by rolling onto my side, grabbing my leg that was on top and using it as a weight to pull myself up. The other arm can be used to help push yourself up. I hope this made some sense because getting out of bed was the worst pain.

I have Kaiser and I was in overnight. -
Any other November sleevers out there?
Isalithe replied to Ahoraflaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very much stalled. I was told at my appointment today that I need to exercise more to break it. -
Wallaby and Oikos make some no sugar added ones. I know there are a few more brands, but that's what's in my fridge right now.

Surgery is booked and I have mixed feelings
Isalithe replied to Trill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of the things that made me relaxed was knowing that I had a room full of highly trained people who just wanted me to be safe taking care of me. That's their job and they're only there for you during that time. I was worried about not waking up, but now that I've gone through surgery, I'm no longer concerned about anesthesia. -
You will definitely feel it when you move to thicker foods. I felt the same as you and then I tried some much thicker soup and oh lord.
-
I had a couple bad choices during my pre-op diet and I was okay. Just keep to it and everything should be okay.

Stomach pain after EGD
Isalithe replied to lauratro's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had pain after my biopsy that bothered me for a couple days. Taking nsaids on a sore stomach probably irritated it even more though. -
My one month appointment is coming up and they still have me on clear liquids. I am really not a happy camper right now.
-
It's shocking how much better I felt getting that stupid thing out. Life got so much better.
-
It does, but it's really not horrible. You get nice painkillers if you need them.

I'm feeling good! Dr. Cantor is an odd duck, but an amazing surgeon who actually cares about you. He's strict, but he's got his reasons. You'll have a drain and a catheter, neither of which you'll care about in the hospital. The drain is annoying at home, but not too bad. The tape they give you in the hospital is really rough on your skin, so try to get some other types too. Speak up if your bed is uncomfortable. I spent hours being unable to straighten my legs because the nurse couldn't figure out the controls. Bring your own nonslip slippers or socks because the ones they give you do not fit and fall off easily, getting caught in your IV pole. The food trays are nice and I loved the popsicle. The veggie broth was the best I've ever had. If you have dietary restrictions, let them know because they will just mindlessly bring you a set tray. The time in the hospital is just so boring. I pretty much just stared at the TV and drank my Water. They kick you out of bed at 6am, so there's no option to even really nap. Seriously, so boring.

I had my surgery at Holy Cross last month. If there are any questions, I might be able to help.

how long is the Gastric Sleeve surgery ?
Isalithe replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From the start of anesthesia to waking up, it was 3 hours and 23 minutes for me. -
Call and ask! I had a horrible cold that dragged on for weeks and I still had my surgery.
-
Are you comfortable taping your tube to your stomach? That may help the pulling feeling.

Gastric sleeve TOMORROW wish me luck
Isalithe replied to sunsetsue's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck! It'll be over before you know it and then your new life begins. Heal well! -
It's exactly the same as soda in that regard, imo.
-
I love my soda stream. Cut my soda bill way down.
-
How long are you going to have it? What exactly is hurting? I had mine for 10 days and it felt like forever, but it never hurt me.

Right there with you. Was leaning vegan and then pushed onto whey powder. I went into my post op appointment and they excitedly told me I can have egg drop Soup and skim milk! Well, cool, but no thanks. I'll finish my prescribed whey and figure it out myself then. The veggie broth in the hospital was to die for though!
