You can fail, but you won't. They're looking for you to be appropriately dressed and groomed. They want to make sure you're aware of the potential outcomes, that no one is coercing you into it and that you are basically a functioning adult. Wasn't a big deal for me and now I know a good therapist if I need one.

Gonna be honest, I cheated a lot. I was very sick and the past week of no food made it worse. I ate dinners (healthy, small) for a couple days on my second week and was strict the 3 days before surgery. Everything was okay. I do feel like I hurt myself in being prepared for the liquid diet after though. Don't let your cheats snowball from here though. That happens easily.

I'm also one week out. I want some food other than broth and shakes too. Do you know when you get to move on to the next food stage? Planning my grocery shopping for that has been keeping my mind busy.

To give you an idea of how wildly it varies, I'm only allowed 30g of carbs a day.

I am so jealous. I'm only allowed broth, jell-o, Popsicles, crystal light and protien powder mixed with water for the first 3 weeks. My pre-op diet was the same for 2 weeks.

No one even mentioned one during my program, so I had no idea until I was browsing here post surgery. I bought one off Amazon and it has been so nice.

Confused about the pains!
Isalithe replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had some pain. Getting out of bed or a chair is the worst. I got out of bed wrong last night and almost fainted from pain. Look up how to get up after surgery and practice! Most of my pain has been gas pain in my shoulder. My surgery was 11/22 and I was mostly off painkillers the 3rd day and am completely off them on the 5th day. -
What Were Your Thanksgiving Triumphs and Tribulations?
Isalithe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
My surgery was on the 22nd so there was no real temptation for me, but i would have probably killed someone for a bit of gravy or cranberry sauce. -
What do you think you're doing wrong? I'm also in Maryland and my surgery was done at Holy Cross.

Surgery scheduled for Nov. 22nd! Steps and timeline that it took for me to get here...

I had a giggle too once I knew I was okay. I was extra sore for a couple hours, but everything seems good now. Falling is super scary now, even that tiny distance. -
Any other November sleevers out there?
Isalithe replied to Ahoraflaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 days out and have no gas pain except a little bit left in my shoulder. 90% of my pain has been from that stupid gas. I swear that GasX did help the first night home, but it may have been a placebo effect, which I am totally fine with. Currently not taking pain meds. The only pain I have right now is coming from my drain area. I must have snagged it or something. Mild, but it worries me. Coughing is the worst thing in the world right now. -
Nectar, Orgain and Inspire are so far my favorites. The Inspire ones are ungodly good.

I think the best advice I've heard lately is to remember you made this decision of sound mind. You educated yourself on the choices and this is what came up as the right choice. Don't give up!

I love them, but it took years of learning to cook them right. First you rinse them to death and then dry fry them. I like to use curry sauces with them. The spinach and tofu versions are nicer than the straight yam ones.

Bariatric Orientation Scheduled Dec 8th
Isalithe replied to SandraISgettingsleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kaiser likes to draw things out sometimes. My orientation was December 2015 and I had my surgery this week. Get everything scheduled as soon as orientation is over because everything fills up so fast. -
Day one of my pre-op diet....
Isalithe replied to elisa_rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Variety in shake flavors will help keep you sane. I have 5 full size powder tubs and easily a dozen single servings around the house. Add crystal light or mio to change it up! I had a strawberry shake made with crystal light lemonade last night and it was a nice change. -
What do you really enjoy drinking? Can you do Popsicles? broth (low sodium)? Jello?

Tired of hearing I don't need surgery!
Isalithe replied to Dknal2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm pretty sure I heard something similar as I was waking up from surgery. "Not THAT big." Clearly I am or the surgeon wouldn't have agreed to it. -
Surgery scheduled for Nov. 22nd! Steps and timeline that it took for me to get here...
Isalithe replied to creatingthenewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm good other than having a cough. It feels like my insides are going to explode out whenever I do. Pain meds really aren't working much, which sucks, but that's how my body is. I, um, fell out of my chair because I was sitting too far forward. Don't do this. Getting up off the floor was ridiculous. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -

How's everyone? I'm waiting on a prescription and then will be in my own bed. Agony. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App -
