  1. Well I went to the doctor and had blood drawn to check my b12, thyroid and Iron levels, all came back fine though my iron was a little low. I'm waiting to hear back from them to see what to do now but I've done some research and found that Anesthesia can linger in the body for a while but it doesn't make sense to be that because it didn't show up until I noticed the shingles popping up, and that's only in one spot. I've called my Bariatric surgeon to inform them of this issue I'm dealing with but they kept insisting that it's no way related to the surgery... which honestly makes me suspicious lol. 2. It's on the right side on my lower back, about the size of half a dollar size. I called and talked to one of the nurse for my doctor and she said it could possibly paresthesia due to the shingles and taking acyclovir and from the fact that a few weeks ago I was taking Bactrin as well for a staff infection( I have had a rough couple of months ) so I'm just going to go Monday to get confirmation hipefully Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Thank you! I called my Surgeon to let them know and they said that there's no way it's related to the surgery which I'm not sure how much I believe but I have a dr app. Monday so we'll see! I was think that too about the shingles. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. It started out just skin surface but not it's like I can scratch my stomach and feel it but not feel it at the same time if that makes sense? I'm wondering if it's a combination from the shingles and the medication because both have side effects of numbness but I finished my meds 3 days ago and no change. I'm just worried because my legs are numb too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Ok so I'm two months out from surgery 11/14/16 and last week I was diagnosed with shingles so I was prescribed acyclovir. Within a few days I noticed that I've lost feeling in my stomach and the front part of my legs. Went to the ER and everything checked out fine, so I talked to someone I know who has had the same surgery as I have but is over a year out about losing feeling in her stomach and she said she did and still to this day can't feel anything in her stomach. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not going to lie I'm a little scared but I'm hoping it's either one of the side effects of the medication or just something I'll have to get used to from the surgery. 6. Mine is definitely not very strict but since I've been doing my research even before my surgery I've been very careful to make sure I don't do any harm to myself. I did clear liquids for the first week and then about into halfway into the second week I did a mix of puréed foods and very soft foods. That's where I'm at right now. I'm still eating things that are soft enough for break down easily and I probably won't add anything tougher until after my 3 week check up. So far everything has been good and my stomach seems to adapt very well which I'm very thankful for. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I was just wondering what everyone's surgeon told them for the first month after their surgery. My surgeon put me on a two week liquid diet with puréed as well as long as they were thing enough to fit through a straw ) but don't use the straw) and then after the two weeks I can start introducing any foods I want. I've noticed some people have different instructions and was just wondering how they helped or how difficult they were. I know my first week and about 4 days was miserable but I started adding puréed foods and soft food and my stomach and body have responded wonderfully. It's still a learning experience. Pain ⬇️ Tips [emoji381]

I'm one week out and I've had horrible gas and back pain. My surgeon offered me a abdominal brace which helps when I'm out walking but when I'm at home and I'm resting or sleeping, I use a pillow kinda as a brace. My nurse who has had GB said it's good to have to brace your self if you sneeze or need to sit up and it becomes like a security blanket. I hope you don't have any pain!!! 10. I was on a low carb pre op diet for two weeks. I'm a week out and I'm on a two week liquid diet. Since my pre op diet I've lost 26 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Anthony74 it's ok. We all make mistakes. As long as your ok that's all that matters. This might keep someone else from making the same mistake. ????️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm a week out. I'm trying to walk a little every day. I've had back pain since my surgery and nothing liquid is appetizing but I know I'm just gonna have to force myself to get it down. I'm trying to drink as much Water but I still haven't passed even the 20 oz mark but tomorrow I will!!! I'm determined!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I had my surgery Nov. 14th and I'm 1 day from being a week out. When I came out of my surgery I was in excruciating back pain and I had so much gas in my body I couldn't even stay conscious until they gave me morphine. My back pain has been a struggle and my gas pain isn't as bad and I'm on a 2 week liquid diet though my paperwork says I can add purée food if I want so I'm a little confused on if I need to stay on liquids for the whole two weeks or since I'm done with week one I should gradually add purée food. I've been having so much trouble trying to eat because I literally can't tell if I'm hungry or if it just gas and when I do eat I get sharp pains ( which I assume is the gas) I try to eat slow but so far Soup broth doesn't upset my stomach. Am I just being a worry wort because I'm so fresh out of surgery?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
