 Today marks two weeks after having my band put in. I lost 12 lbs. in the beginning because of the pre diet and liquids after. Then I weighed today and have gained a pound. I know I shouldnt be worried about the scales. But I never would have thought that I would gain weight while on the cream diet. I am drinking mostly Slim Fast so im really not taking in to many calories. Just wanted to see if this is common after surgery or am I doing something wrong. I dont mean to sound llike a child but I was very dissapointed that in one week I gained. Hopefully next week will be better. Any info on this is appreciated. Jennifer

Thanks for the info. I will look into new drinks with less sugar. I will be starting my mushie diet on Monday. I will try and remember that I might gain a little at first. I think the real reason it bothered me is because I am starving. I will be happy to star next weeks diet. Jennifer

Well im home and everything went great. I have to admit that when I first woke up I thought what the heck did I do. But I feel a lot better now. I am actually hungry. The only thing I have now is painfull burps. But I can handle that. I will be so happy next week when I can move to mushie foods. I know there were a couple people having this surgey on the same day that I did. If your out there let me know how your doing. I hope good. Jennifer B.:clap2:

I also had mine on the 24th. I feel ok but I am really hungry. I have been drinking a lot of warm sweet tea but nothing is helping my hunger. I also took off my bandages and showered. My Dr. (Dr. Fusco in Melbourne Fl) said it was ok to take them off. And so far so good. I will just be happy to eat some mushies next week. I hope your feeling good and keep me informed on your progress ok. Take car. Jennifer B.

Plastic Surgery Terms for Weight Loss Patients

I would be really curious as to how much something like this would cost. It seems like a major surgery. If any body has any idea as to how much and how long you would be down from this I would love any info. Thanks. -
Hello everyone. I am scheduled to have the band January 24th. I am very excited. I met with the anesthesiologist today and heard a lot of scary things. But I am trying to stay very positive. I am 33 yrs old and have 2 young boys so I really am at a point where this weight has to come off for good. I just wish I could have had this surgery about 10 yrs. ago. Life is so awesome and I have waisted so much of it being upset with my self. I have really learned a lot from this web site. Good and bad. But it seems most people are very happy to have the band and would do it over again. That's really good to hear. Well I will write after surgery or whenever I have a question. Take care. Jennifer;-)

I am having my surgery in my home town of Melbourne Fl. The Dr. is Dr. Fusco. Luckily it is only about a 10 minute drive. My mom had it done about 3 weeks ago and feels great. She has lost about 18 lbs. She has about 45 more to go. I need to lose 120. But I will be happy with 50 at this point. So are you nervous? The only part that scares me is being put under. I have never been before so not sure what to expect. I hear it's no biggie though. I hope things go great for you. I cant beleive we are on the same day. I will keep in touch so we can maybe help each other. I know my husband is very supportive but probably a little tired of hearing about it. So I hope to hear from you soon. Jennifer

Has anyone heard of a body lift? I have heard that they can lift everything at once including your tummy and thighs. Just curious if this is true or not. If so. I would love to look into this after I have met my goal of weight loss. Thank's, Jen -
Poll: would you do it over again?

I am also set up to get lap banded. My date is January 24th. My mom had it done 3 weeks ago and she feels great. I have to admit I am a little nervous about being put under. I have never had surgery before. But Im sure I will be fine. I have two boys ages 5 and almost 2. And I am tired of fighting this weight battle alone. I know it will still take a lot of hard work and effort but I will have some help from the band. I have felt like there is a skinny person inside of me that wants to be free since I was about 16. I am now 33 and cant wait to feel better about myself and feel healthy for my family. I only wish this would have been an option for me a long time ago. Any ways it is nice to have this web site to come to and read all the comments. I feel like I talk my husbands ear off about the surgery and weight so I am hoping to have new people to talk to and go through this experience with.
