You'll do great!

I am 8 weeks post op and I have had pizza in my face about 6 times since the surgery. 2 weeks post op it was all I could think about. Even with it in my face, never took a bite. It wasn't worth the trying to find a way to force Protein later. It's something I wouldn't have been able to imagine pre-op and its still hard to fathom post-op.

Awesome!

Explain to the office your strategy and need, they are sometimes willing to accommodate you if they understand.

Pre Op Diet / Diabetic
MowryRocks replied to fallenfeatherstudio's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you on meds for diabetes? If you are keep close track of your b/s and make sure if you are seeing lows to let your doc know. Mine had me stop all meds during pre-op as a result of lows. Good Luck! -
I'm starting this week which will be 8 weeks out, but in all fairness, I was given the ok at 4. Good Luck!

I am just days away from 2 months out, but wanted to share my favorite NSV so far. I am a Type 2 diabetic who has been on Metformin for 10 years and a Bydureon non-insulin injectable for 2 years. Even while on medication my average fasting blood sugar was 140. I was taken off all medications during my pre-surgery liquid phase with the docs intention to add them back in slowly once we had a better idea of where I would be post-op. 2 months later and not only am I not on meds, but my fasting blood sugar was 85 this morning. Thank God I went forward with this surgery. If I never lose another pound this alone would be worth it.

I'm experiencing the same exact thing. I called my nutritionist after I fluctuated between the same 3 lbs for over a week. I was eating between 500-700 calories and he told me I should have been increasing to 850-1000 by this point. I did so and lost .7 by the next morning. Call your team and get their opinion. They will help you figure it out.

Earlier today I posted a then/now style picture to a bariatric FB group and to my own personal FB page. I see myself small changes but I do not see the major difference that other people seem to gush over. I know it's there, because I am down sizes and the clothes I can't seem to part with drape like crazy. I like to do the side by side pic just to see and today it kinda floored me. As soon as I posted, I got the "You look amazing" "You look fantastic". In my head, I followed up every compliment with "in comparison". Because of this, I am changing my strategy. This journey is NOT about how I look, it's about changing my life and how I feel in my own skin. So from now on, I will no longer tell anyone they look amazing. If you're getting a compliment from me it will be "You look like you feel fantastic. "

Changing My Strategy
MowryRocks replied to MowryRocks's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The funny thing is that there is a difference, but I am still extremely overweight 240 on a 5' 1.5" frame. I look better, but I don't look fantastic (except in comparison)...lol. I always say thank you and act graciously, but my point is that it made me cognizant of what I say to other people. I'm just going try t be more aware of what I'm saying. -
Today's the day...
MowryRocks replied to WantToDanceAgain's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is normal fear. I worried about leaving my girls behind with their crazy father. (Like not literally insane, but the having S'mores for dinner kind of crazy) I had my surgery on 10/26/2016 and everything went off without a hitch. Less than two months out, my ability to be with them and be involved with them has already increased to the point that I'm mostly upset that I didn't do it sooner. I'm 41. Got to make up for wasted time. Praying for you! -

Congratulations! My surgeon advises that on average I should be losing about 4lbs a week with the sleeve. So, I think it's great.

This is on my surgeon's...no no list. My particular surgeon does not allow.

I have been craving it like crazy. I can have it at 8 weeks. 2 more to go!

Looking for buddy and/or mentor - sleeved 12/7/2016 :D
MowryRocks replied to Ashley Wright's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't be much of a mentor (sleeved 10/26/2016), but almost through the reintroduction diet phase. I'd be pleased to answer any questions based on my recently having gone through it. -
I subsisted on Cottage Cheese, laughing cow cheese, natural peanut butter, and scrambled eggs.

10 days post-op and nothing but diarrhea
MowryRocks replied to tran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had diarrhea for awhile. I just kept up on my fluids, most of it was caused by being near dehydration. Once I was getting enough Fluid, it stopped. -
I'm with ya! 10/26/2016 here! Good job!

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
MowryRocks replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only struggle with water nausea if I try to drink too fast. I find that if I slow down, it doesn't happen as frequently if at all. -

I'm with you. Same problem here. -
I'm impatient as well. I just have to keep reminding myself how far I've already come. @24601 I listened to Les Miz all the way to work this morning
