Hang in there! the weight loss will come.

First of all...I've been sleeved and the loose skin struggle is real. I can't say whether it would be worse if I had full bypass, but its there for sure. Mostly at 14 weeks post surgery, it's just bunchy and crepe-y. I worried about it, but now...I could care less. Walking without getting out of breath, getting out of a chair without plotting, planning, and waiting for an act of congress, or seeing my feet when I look straight down...those things are all more important than loose skin to me. Don't worry about it. You can't control it anyway. Sit back, do what you need to do, and enjoy the ride. Worry about the loose skin when and if it happens. Congratulations for being 2/3 done with pre-op!

I HOPE mine is wrong. I will work to hard exceed expectations because mine is only giving me 88 frickin' pounds and I need a lot more than that gone...lol. That puts me 30lbs over my goal weight which is 30lbs over what I should weigh. -
I have a burping issue. It's not all the time, but it happens to me after I eat. It's high pressured, loud, and mostly unexpected. One day I tried to say Good Morning to my boss, but he received a belchy greeting instead. Thankfully, he understands.

Daily food menu
MowryRocks replied to Nic Tads????'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since each surgeon is different, its hard to say. For instance, my progression went Week 1 Clear liquids, Week 2&3 full liquids (which included things that were not liquid), Week 4 soft foods, and then progressed through 12 weeks. At week 14 today, there are still foods that I cannot eat. I will not eat a dense meat like steak until April 26 and I was sleeved on 10/26/2016. If you are getting no guidance from your surgeon or nutritionist, it's kind of scary, but in that case...if you PM me your email, I'll be happy to send you some of the sample pages from my booklet. -

I haven't flown in 70lbs, but I'm flying to Hawaii in Feb. Hoping for same results. -
Denial about my weight

I understand this. I scanned a Walgreens backwall security mirror for myself and it was like Where's Waldo. My husband died laughing and asked me if I understood how mirrors worked. -
Female Topic: Any Help?
MowryRocks replied to acm22_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I spent years suffering with periods that are similar to what you are describing and my GYN had me on Progesterone therapy to assist. Do not wait to call them, they will tell you the signs to look for to be sure that you are not hemorrhaging. I second, the Always Infinity overnights. -
I know this feeling all too well, I've lost on average 11lbs a month since being sleeved. I wish it were more, but I can't be mad at that. This entire process as me down 70lbs in 9 months. 70lbs that I no longer have to carry on my body and mind. I've lost a whole lot more than weight, too! I've lost apprehensions, inhibitions, and some fear. Think positively, it'll all be good.

I've hit a stall. Trying not to panic.
MowryRocks replied to show1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is this your first stall? I'm almost at 14 weeks and I have to tell you that this last long one was my third. I had one that lasted almost 12 days. I called my nutritionist and they told me I was getting too few calories. If you're concerned, follow up with your team. -
I was sleeved in October. My best advice is just to make good decisions and live your life as close as you expect to live it after the surgery. This helped me tremendously and allowed me to experience a smoother transition.

So excited for you! I started at 290, so my first big benchmark was 250. I hadn't seen 250 before I had kids and my eldest is almost 13. I'm hanging in for One-derland and seeing amazing milestones like yours, just keeps my eye on the prize. Thank you for sharing. -

MowryRocks replied to Renea Glover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you. I do feel amazing I was more than happy to drop his weight too. I' not sure what my body will look like because I do exercise too but what ever it is has to be better than the excess weight and I will embrace it. We were sleeved around the same time congrats on your weight loss as well and Good luck on your journey Sleeve Buddies!!! -
I've hit a stall. Trying not to panic.
MowryRocks replied to show1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once you've gotten through a couple of stalls it will not feel as scary. I had a 7 day stall that ended just last week and resulted in my losing 3lbs in 3 days. Just do what your supposed to do and your body will follow suit. Worrying just makes you feel powerless and miserable. Enjoy how far you've come already and rejoice when the weight starts falling off again. -
MY EX TRIED TO TEAR ME DOWN
MowryRocks replied to Renea Glover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First of all, you look great! Secondly, you look like you feel amazing. Thirdly, what a giant ******! Pardon my French. Who cares about if your body is going to be a mess, that weight that holds you down is gone and your life is going to be great without that boxer weight that's trying to hold you back! Congrats and Good Luck! -
Have a great day! The best day ever...even though it might not feel like it right away

Down another 3lbs since Thursday, the preceeding stall was a killer. So excited for progress!

Question about success of procedure

My psych eval was a joke. It was a rundown of my weight history and I had to fill out a form. I thought it would've been more. -

Ok, today is my 13 week surgiversary and weight loss in the last few weeks has put me at a stall. I started losing again about two days ago and I am officially 61lbs down. This is not my exciting news. The exciting part is that my primary doc just updated all my blood work and My A1c came in at 6.0, which is (barely)considered normal/non-diabetic. I have been off my diabetic meds for 15 weeks. I used to take a pill twice a day and a shot once a week, but for the time being I'm off all medication! There has also been a reduction in my cholesterol of 26 points! Thank you to all of you who keep me encouraged. Also sharing a before and current pic!

Sounds like a stall. I had one about 2-3 weeks in. Hang in there! It'll start moving.
