    Liquids or real food after a fill?

    i was told mushies for 24hrs but had a dinner i had to go to so just went easy and ate normally

    can i ask for those that have been banded but not yet have restriction or those that can remember back what do you eat on an average day, i have a full appitite and not sure if im overdoing it

    hi sorry to hear you didnt get the result you wanted if it any help i found reductil really good and lost 5 stone in 3 months on but it ushed up my blood pressure so had to stop it then the weight all crept back on but it can work well makes you feel full after a small meal but give it time, if that doesnt work and you have tried xenocol then you can try again for banding
  5. im in same boat my swelling has gone and i have 3 weeks till my first fill i cant stick to well to the restriction sized portions so iv learnt to eat till im full then stop i know if iv had to much and have only done that once

    I know this sounds weird but...

    it was intersting reading this as im 3wks post op and dont have my first fill for another 4 wks and am eating at normal speed again i think i may well hit the same problems so will be interested in what is said

    well done you thats great weight loss im 3wks post op and can eat nearly everything! iv lost 20lbs but am now just maintaining that weight while waiting for fill but have been told this is normal just wish i wasnt so hunrgy but luckily love fruit so thats seeing me thru in the evenings

    first sandwich since being banded 30/5/08

    bet it tasted goooooood!! im 3 wks post op and can eat sandwiches fine but i have no restriction yet although i cant eat crusty bread one mouthfull gave me a blockage that hurt like hell lol wont be trying that again!!

    Is this too much food?

    im eating more than you i think! my usual day is 1 boiled egg slice of bread for Breakfast i sandwich ham and tomatoe usually lunch i bowl of casserole little meat usually turkey or chicken and lots of veg in evening 2 or 3 bits of fruit as Snacks im only 3 wks post op so have no restriction yet tho and am always hungry but like other lady said you should not spend more than20/30 mins on eating as the food you eat will have passed thru the pouch befor you finished allowing you to eat to much

    ideas for liquid diet

    my liquid diet was 4 pints of milk sugar free milkshake mix i bowl of jelly i hot bovril/oxo drink i had to do this for a week i could have as much Water tea/coffee as i wanted it was hard but i lost 10lbs in the week after surgery i had Soups and yogurt and lost a further 10lbs im now 3 wks post op and eating as normal while waiting for my first fill good luck

    9 days post op,,depression

    im now 3 weeks post op and the port site has finally settled and i dont feel it unless i bend down iv been sleeping on my side since the first week but i roll a duvet[i think you call them something different] and throw my leg over it that way im on my side but not to flat and it worked wonders. your eating will settle too im now eating completly normally with no restriction at all just waiting for my first fill now dont worry it will get better hang in there

    please help, 3rd day post op

    hi im 2 weeks post op and trust me the pain goes really quickly i was only on paracetomol but things done slightly different in uk because i was on soup, yogurt, and pureed food with in a day and now 2 weeks on im already back to normal food as long as it not to hard ie toast and biscuits etc just make sure you get lots of rest but when wind bad either walk or rock back and forward i found this eased it greatly or try gripe water if you have it you may also be constipated because your not eating i only go once every 3 or 4 days now

    no difference

    im on nhs so only allowed fills every month and have been warned it may take 2 or 3 goes befor good restriction is got im only a week post op tho so still have swelling restriction im hoping that dont go to soon good luck and let us know how you get on

    Two Days Post Op

    hi im 2 days post op and eating half a small tea cup of soup for lunch and tea and a small yogurt for breakfast and feeling good on that so far iv also been told semolina weetabix with pleanty of milk are good i also had smoothies in hospital wich were yummy
  16. i was banded 2 days ago and still very sore and painfull gas not to bad tho and am having soups/yogurt fine just really tired but no pain no gain! good luck to you all

    i know how you feel its just natural reactions i think i was offerd bypass and have been thinkning maybe i made the wrong desition but deep down i know i havnt lol keep positive and have you joined minimims its another great site for support
  18. hi all im on day 2 of pre op diet which consists of 4 pints of milk a oxo drink and a bowl of jelly a day and im finding it starting to get harder i only have to be on it for another 4 days so why am i finding it so hard:sad:im determined not to cheat but its harder going than i thought it would be

    What comes pre-op...???

    im in rhe uk and it seems to be alot different here i had consultation waited for funding approval then had a pre op appointment which consisted of seeing a dieticain who gave me a weeks pre op diet a anethatist to discuss knocking me out who just chatted looked in my throat then i saw a nurse had bloods taken and swab for mrsa , then got weighed and was sent on my way no sleep studies or ekg's etc most of your questions your preop nurse can answer all iv been told is be carefull with social drinking as alcohole is full of calories

    your the other end of the country from me lol sounds like a great clinic tho, im feeling tired more than anything im on the milk pre op diet and its harsh lol i just wish it was saturday now im so ready for this and am kinda excited il let you know next week how it was

    hi arran i know exactly how your feeling im being banded on the 6th sept and am feeling all kinds of emotions i had my last dinner as i called it saturday and said goodbye to a couple of fav foods i then dyed my hair from blonde to red lol i think its like a new beging for me everything changing and that in itself is scary! where are you being banded? im in west sussex and being banded in chichester
  24. im so glad i found this thread im on my last night tonight have just had my last supper i think iv eaten enought food for a week today lol also feeling a little emotional like im saying goodbye to someone pre op starts tomoro milk only diet but luckily only for 6 days nice to know im not the only one with the last meal thing going on

    It is getting closer

    your preop diet is very different to what i was given mine is 4 pints of milk 2 pints of other Fluid tea coffee etc i oxo drink and can have one jelly sugar free a day i think the idea is if you on a very restricted diet your liver looses the fat to give more room for surgery yours sounds like a low protien diet you may be better sticking to plain chicken and fresh veg /fruit
