  1. I completely understand you!!! I am exactly on my second week post surgery. My doctor also only allows liquid for the first 4 weeks post op. I've been hungry since the beginning.... it's a horrible sensation. I thought I was ready, but this is way harder than I expected! I'm sick and tired of all my proteins already, and I still have two more weeks of liquids to go. From what I read, it is normal to feel hungry just with the liquids, but once we are allowed to eat real food, we will feel full faster and for longer... I guess we just have to keep being strong and wait! Glad I'm not alone in this though
  2. Had my surgery yesterday!! It all went great. Very sore today, but managing to walk and drink some water. All your experiences and advice helped me so much to be mentally prepared, I cannot thank you enough
  3. Had my surgery yesterday!! I still can't believe it's done no pain yesterday, but quite painful today. Still, very happy to have done it
  4. Im scheduled for tomorrow too!! Ahh! Lots of excitement and anxiety and very nervous of what to expect....
  5. Im so happy! I just spoke with my doctor, and my surgery is back on track for next Tuesday 21st! It was a few days of uncertainty and stress with the possibility of having to reschedule due to my previous weight gain, but I proved to myself and the doctors how committed I am. I have lost 8 pounds during the first week of liquid diet thanks for your support, and good luck to everyone on your journeys!!

  7. Thank you JBlue! And good luck on Wednesday!! All the best to you, and hope to hear from you soon with updates and how great you feel after surgery
  8. I'm having surgery at Bellevue Hospital in NYC
  9. I just had a similar situation today. How are you coping with it? I feel devastated I'm a week away from surgery (February 21st), and I got a call today about my surgery getting postponed because I haven't proved I'm ready. I can't stop crying. This is so frustrating. I am fully committed and I'm by the end of my first week of liquid diet. It feels like now I'm not sure what's going to happen. I really want and need this surgery, and I'm doing all I can to prove it. I gained some weight over the past six months, and that's what the doctor is concerned about. With only a week from surgery, I feel very sad and frustrated. Thanks for your support, I really need it

  11. Thank you! It is the kind of support I need! Just having someone to help me understand at least. I've been through all kind of appointments since August 2016, and my last meeting with the nutritionist was 2 weeks ago, and nobody mentioned anything about the weight gain. I'm on day 6 of the liquid diet, which only allows me 3 Protein shakes a day, broth, tea, and some green veggies with no oil or dressings. And I've done it perfectly!! I'm very proud of myself because it has not been easy at all, but I'm so excited and committed to this. I asked to meet with the surgeon tomorrow, but they seemed pretty sure about their decision. I'm going to try anyway. It's very unprofessional and heartbreaking for me to hear that I've made it this far to not know now of a date. Thank you again for your support. It feels good to let the frustration out. At least I know now that I can use this forum groups for support instead of using food and alcohol when things go the wrong way and I'm filled with anxiety

    Pre-op going great!

That's awesome! I also have my surgery on February 21st, and my pre op diet is liquids only. Up until today it was great, but today I'm soooooo hungry, and tired, and moody, and with a constant headache, argh!! Can't wait for surgery day!!
