I was on this site a while back but I forgot my username. So here I am again! My name is Tiffany, I'm 31, I was sleeved 13 months ago. Best decision of my life! I started my journey at 258 lbs. I was sick, my dr told me to check out the program offered through my insurance. I was reluctant but once I started attending the weekly classes I knew the sleeve was gonna be for me. I am 13 months post op, I reached my goal weight at 8 months post op. Since then I've gone on to lose another 13 lbs. My current weight is 132. I couldn't be happier with my success. Here's a few pictures from the journey me at my biggest! 258 lbs Thru the process the day I came home from vacation and realized I had lost 6 pounds and was under my goal weight! The first picture is from Hawaii vacation 2013. Face to face one year apart Almost one years difference Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am 13 months post op. About 10 months post op i started having severe night sweats. I talked to my pcp bc it's bad. My surgical team told me I needed to see my pcp right away. So she automatically told me it was probably tuberculosis bc years ago I had a positive skin test, with a negative chest X-ray. I still chose to do the treatment to be safe, since I was going into the medical field and I have kids. Well the chest X-ray this time around was normal, some of my blood tests showed I was fighting an infection but she didn't know what. She test my hormone levels and everything was good, she told me then it couldn't be menopause bc I'm not old enough and my cycle is on time and normal. She wanted to run more tests. However she never ordered any other tests. I asked her over and over when they would be ordered and she said she would have her nurse do it. It never happened. So anyways today she told me "it's hot flashes, there is nothing I can do." So of course I feel like she's just saying that to get me to go away. But I'm still having the night sweats, I have to change my pjs 3 times a night and wash my sheets daily, I am still expecting the other symptoms as well extreme fatigue, severe headaches, no appetite at all, are some of them that started around the same time as the sweats. Her solution for no appetite was get a medical marijuana card. I was not at all happy with that response. Bc I felt like it would completely defeat the purpose of the surgery. I'm switching pcp but I am just wondering if anyone else expected these symptoms around 10 months to year post op? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My lymph nodes in my neck swell but they are not painful. I do have a fever that comes and goes. Mostly in the evening and at night. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How old are you? People don't realize that peri menopause can start 10 years before you actually go through menopause. It was be a long process. I'm 31 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Before surgery I could drink any protein and it didn't bother me. After surgery every single protein caused vomiting, diarrhea, and the worst stomach pain I've ever had. I get the same way if I eat Protein Bars. I tried to substitute the bars in place of the shakes, I love protein bars. But I couldn't handle them either. I still try bars here and there, I always end up sick. My sleeve just isn't tolerate of that type of protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you! I have a very small amount of excess skin in my stomach area. It's not enough for my insurance to cover the removal. I have a little more excess on my thighs and arms but it's still not the end all for me. With the right clothes you wouldn't be able to tell at all. I only walk about 4 days a week. 30 minutes a day. I walk 4 days a week, for about 30 minutes. I have fibromyalgia really bad so too much puts me in bed for days at a time. I'm still only eating about 800-1000 calories a day, 1000 is really pushing it. My dr wants me to be eating 1200 but it's just not possible. I usually have about 50 grams of Protein. I do not drink my protein. The shakes killed my stomach I tried every protein recommended by my dr and other people and then some, it all made me really sick. I had found some really good ones but they made me so sick I couldn't keep drinking them. Tuna, chicken, Greek yogurt, and cheese are my go to Proteins. I get around 50 carbs a day (Drs recommendation). I still drop pounds from time to time. But it's not like it was in the beginning. My dr actually told me at my one year appointment I could only lose 10 more pounds before they would start getting worried about losing too much. So I'm trying to just stay where I'm at. I don't really do anything in particular to lose, I just follow my Drs plan. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you! This site really got to me at first! I would see people losing faster than me and it drove me insane. The mental part of this surgery has been the toughest part for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

In the beginning I blacked out a number of times at the gym. It's from the lack of calories and your body trying to adjust. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

For the first 6 months post op I had to take a zofran before breakfast every single day. I was so nauseous all the time. Right after my I hit 6 months it went away. Now I only get nauseous if I eat something my stomach doesn't like. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Everything I drink I drink with a straw! And it's been that way since 2 weeks post op. I am now 13 months post op and never had a single issue with straws. Like you it made it easier for me to get my fluids and Proteins. My dr said to never use them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
