This is a response to a thread started about someone's first real meal 23 days after surgery containing fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, creamy shrimp Pasta, rice and an alcoholic beverage.Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App That's what I call a "bait post". She knew exactly what kind of response she was going to get.... Hahahahaha! Shrimp...bait... Did you intend that, or was it just good luck on your part?

There sure are a lot of beaches on this board here

@ When I was a kid, the closest we ever got to the seashore was the state park lake. They had trucked in a bunch of sand to make a large sandy area for people to sit or play along the edge of the swimming area. So we called it "The Beach". -

The TSA is probably on the way to your house right now to deal with this issue of double posting. -
But it ain't invisible. ~ Clint Eastwood in Pink Cadillac I have seen a lot of people asking how to tell if you ate too much. Today I crossed a very fine line, and discovered it is indeed visible, or at least, palpable. I was preparing my normal 3/4 cup of food for lunch. I have learned that 3/4 cup is pretty much the ideal amount of food for my stomach, and it fills me up well. So I put just that much chili in a bowl, and stuck it in the microwave. As I was putting the vat of chili back into the refrigerator, I noticed a package of sharp cheddar cheese sitting there from the other night when we had company. "Well, that would look good on top of my chili!", I thought to myself. Not much longer than it took me to form the thought, three slices (small squares, one serving) found their way onto my now steaming, but very small bowl of chili. I proceeded to eat at my normal, slow pace, while perusing my favorite fat person forum. By the time I got close to the bottom of my bowl, I noticed that the feeling of food in my belly was reaching the bottom of my esophagus. Those three little slices put me over the top. I finished it, and it was distinctly uncomfortable. I will be sure to subtract the volume of cheese from the chili next time before sticking it all together. Either that, or Jester the dog is going to enjoy a small treat.

@ I'm all over the interweb for various things. I have not broadcast my WLS, but I have not made it top secret either. I am very well known in my field all over the world. Anyone who knows me professionally knows I was fat. So far, whenever anyone has asked me about losing weight, I just look them in the eye and say, "It's the result of clean livin'". That has sufficed so far. -
I have so many speed issues here it is unbelievable. And then, when I go to read comments on statuses, I'll click on the "show all comments" link and it just blinks and stays the same. I thought it was something with my machine, but now I see I am not alone. Misery loves company and all that.

I'm sort of wondering how to bite soup. I think @@suzzzzz has the best answer. Especially since that is how I did it.

Go to your profile. The instructions are there, so if you have a picture on your computer, it should work. Of course, I am real troglodyte myself, so I might not be much help. -

@@southbound We have a process we call "sanitizing the truck" any time we have to cross the frontier into New Jersey Hollow point ammo is illegal there, and there can be upwards of 1000 rounds in my truck (mostly .22) if we have just gone to the range. But even one will land you in jail. -

Airport Security Curiosity

About seven years ago, our oldest daughter and her daughter were flying up to visit from Florida. She was running late, and grabbed a bag her husband was using as a range bag. She made it through security at the airport in FL, spent a week here, and then departed for home. At that point, all hell broke loose. Apparently there was a loose 9mm round in the bag. They had missed it somehow at the first airport, but not at the second. The whole place came completely unglued. You would have thought she had a nuclear device in her pocket. She told me about the whole thing. She said, Daddy, it was awful. Some big fat sheriff kind of a guy was screaming at me about how he could have me arrested, so on and so forth". She figured the only reason they let her go on her way was our little granddaughter was screaming like an air raid siren the entire time. They kept her bullet. She wanted to kill her husband for the trouble, but I kindly explained it was her fault for not checking the back completely, not his. That did not earn me any points. -
@@suzzzzz Nothing at all. I could tell stories, but it would tarnish my lily white reputation. My coffee cup was made of glass. Besides, if I filled a red Solo cup up with wine, it might not be a good idea. We used to observe a phenomenon on a board where I was a moderator which we termed "posting while drunk". I would hate to get into that.

How many times a day?
LittleBill replied to sill21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to eat five, possibly six small meals a day. It is working out pretty well for five most of the time, although sometimes I end up with only four. -
This sounds like something I could have written! We must live parallel lives. Look at the bright side. Your blood pressure didn't spike while going through all that grief and cause a stroke. I can see it now in your status update... "I finally got my tracker to work, but it says my BP is 250/200!" Have fun with it. I get aggravated at mine when it tells me I need to move when I am driving. I talk to it. "I am moving! I'm going 70 mph! Can't your inertial sensor figure that out!?!"

I've had enough trouble with the TSA that I decided a while ago, if I have to fly there, I ain't going there. But a lot of that was because I fly armed - or as armed as I can legally be. I can regale people for an hour or more with TSA stories. One involved a pat down after I went through the metal detector with my belt on. Boy, did I get hollered at for that! You would have thought I was smuggling a CANNON on board! Just as an aside, titanium guns are very difficult to make. Smith and Wesson made a few revolvers with titanium cylinders for a while, but the rest of the frame had to be aluminum, and the barrel had to be steel. Taurus made an all titanium revolver for a while, but it was prone to cracking. And that excluded the barrel, which was steel as well. So titanium guns would still show up, just like the "plastic" Glocks, which still have plenty of metal in them to make them work. -

I will take dessert over pretty much anything. I guess that's why I needed WLS. Another punster, eh? I actually intended for "beaches" to be read with sort of a Mexican accent, but hey, a vacation thread is fine with me. Probably the best vacation Mrs. LittleBill and I ever had was a few days of sailing a small boat in Maine, followed by holing up at a campground for a few more days where no one else was around. We laid about all day long soaking up the quiet and reading books. I won't go into the rest of it. Suffice to say, it was a great time without the children. -
It has been going on for a while, and I suspect it will get worse. Probably the worst was the woman at the McDonald's drive through. Mrs. LittleBill and our youngest daughter were in the truck with me that day. I had had a couple of previous encounters with this woman. Anyway, I put our order in, and she started moaning right there over the speaker system. When we pulled around to the window, she was literally hanging out the window with her hand on my arm, moaning. Mrs. LittleBill was sitting there with a WTF look on her face. Our daughter was in the back seat saying "Eww eww eww!" I don't think a ring would have made a difference. I had to stop going there. Of course, it is moot now.
