I need some help please tongigt

It sounds to me like you have a serious case of acid reflux. There are actually many things that you can do to help yourself. You did the first step by talking to your doctor and getting on nexium. If nexium doesn't seem to be doing it, there are a lot of drugs on the market for this condition, so don't give up. If you have flare ups even after being on the prescribed meds, you can also try Pepcid Complete. I swear by this stuff. It works so well. Better than tums, rolex or any of thos other products could even dream about. (If you do try the Pepcid Complete, I would suggest the mint flavor. The berry flavor kind of tastes like chalk.) Lastly, be really careful about what you are eating. There are a lot of foods that can trigger that heartburn sensation, and they can be different for everyone. Try to write down the things that you have eaten when one of the heartburn attacks comes along. I'm sure you have already been told, but I'll say it anyway... try to stay away from spicy foods, really greasy foods, and remember what you drink goes to your stomach too. So keep in mind that anything with caffein like tea, coffee, and soda can be major triggers. I hope this help some. Good luck and feel better. :crying:

    No weight loss, weight gain

No, you are not the only one experiencing your problem. I had my surgery Feb. '06. I just went in a couple of days ago and found out that I actually weigh 1 lb. more than I did the day of surgery. It's been such a frustrating ride. At one point I had lost about 60 lbs.and 3 dress sizes. Now the weight is just coming back with vengence. I have actually managed to gain 17 lbs. in one month!!! So, please don't be discouraged by just 3 lbs. This thing is so finiky. Sometimes I am really happy with my decision to do the surgery but sometimes I really wish that I would have just gone to the extreme and done the gastric bypass. All I can say is stay strong and focused on your goals. Just having the lap band isn't a miracle fix. It still takes a lot of work...eating right and excercising. If you continue to gain weight, I would suggest going back to your doctor and talking to him about it. It could be something going on in your body that maybe some bloodwork could help find. I know I'm hypothyroid. Once I got my thyroid in line, I lost 20 lbs in only a few weeks before I even went into surgery. Also, you might take some time to talk to a nutritionist and see if they have any suggestions. I just want you to know that you are definately not alone. Good luck! You'll be buying new clothes in no time. :crying:
  5. I am so frustrated, I just want to pull my hair out!!! Last year on Feb. 16, 2006 Dr. Steven Malley performed my lap band surgery. I was doing really good there for a while...losing weight steadily. I actually got to the point where I had lost about 60lbs. and 3 dress sizes. Now, I go into his office and get weighed and I have somehow not only managed to gain 17lbs. in the past month! But, I also weigh 1 lb. more than I did the day of surgery a year ago. I just don't know what to do. I wonder sometimes if I made the right decision or if I should have gone more extreme with like a gastric bypass. Is anyone else struggling the way I am. What are you doing that helps lose the weight? There is a part of me that just wants to give up and start shoveling chocolate cake in my mouth, but then I think about how good I felt just a few months back when I was down three sizes. What kind of diets are you guys doing. What foods seem to work best for you, in respect to going down easily but yet still making you full? Any imput and advice that you guys have would really be uplifting to me right now. I just feel like such a failure. This time last year I was thinking about a year from then, like right now I expected that I would have lost 70 or 80 lbs. and be going strong. Instead, I am exactly the opposite. Please HELP!!!
