  1. Hello. I started the process with the Oregon Bariatric Center in late December of last year. It has taken a bit longer than I would have liked to get the surgery date, but otherwise I am happy with their services. They make you jump through a few hoops like a pre op weight loss (mine was 10 lbs) and nutrition classes and psych evaluations. The steps outlined on their website will tell you what you need to do to get the final approval for surgery. The staff are friendly and Dr. Yarbrough seems very approachable and down to earth (which is unusual for a surgeon). Dr. Umbach (who I have never met) will be leaving the center in a few months and they are in the process of getting another bariatric surgeon. They are also planning a move to a different location. They are going to leave Eugene for a fancier center in Springfield near the mall. Hopefully this answers some of your questions. Feel free to message me if you need any more info or support.
