    June 2006 Band Crew

Morning All, In reference to loosing alot then plataueing, I did the same thing, I lost 36 pounts from the time I started pre-op till i got my first fill, but the last 3 weeks b4 the fill I was stuck BIG TIME, then I went and got my fill, now I have NOT felt any restriction from that fill only 1cc put in, but that first week I guess being on liquids a couple of day or something kickstarted me and I lost 12lbs in ONE week. I called the doctor and asked what was going on, that's alot to loose in a week (not that i'm complaining) they told me the weight lose before the fill was great but when you loose that much you body has to go through a period of what they call compacting and adjusting to the change that is where the scale don't move but you will feel changes in clothes etc. Well that 12lbs lose was last week and this week I haven't lost anything!!!! I really need another fill, I am not restricted and as my past will show i can't continue on willpower for long. I am going to call today for an appt. I guess was upset me so much is I was 255 b4 surgery and when I stopped this week from losing I was at 207, I wanted soooo much to get down to ONEderland before I stopped again and I didn't. But I am trying so hard to stay positive, and look at the fact I have lost 48lbs total. But some great NSV's too, I went from a 44DD bra to a 42D, and from a 24 pants to a 16 now, I do love my band but I really need some restriction right now!!! Thanks for listening guys.

    June 2006 Band Crew

Hey June Crew, I am getting my first fill today. I can't wait. I just got back from Vacation and I was able to eat anything but still not big amounts. I did gain 2 pounds back but I know that was from my poor choices. I have gone from a size 22 to a 18, which are now becoming loose. I can't believe it, I have been stalled on the scale though for about 2 1/2 weeks so I am soooo ready for this fill. Remember our motto guys for those who are waiting for their fills and don't have restriction, "Just because we CAN, doesn't mean we "SHOULD"!!!! You guys are all doing great!!!!
  4. As of friday the 32st, the have changed there clinic policy and are now covering the band...WHAHOOOO. Hopefully now my appeal will go through with flying colors.....................

    June 2006 Band Crew

Hey Everyone, Thought I wouls check in and see how the June crew was doing. I am 2 weeks post-op now and feeling great. In January when I started this process I weighed 255 pounds and I had my measurements done, now this past wednesday I weighed and got re-measured...drum rolls please....... i have lost 35 pounds chest is -2in abs -4in waist -3.5in calfs -1in arms -.3in WHAHOO, I am not in a size 20 from a 22-24. I know most of this was dropped during my preop diet (22lbs) but it feels so good! I am still pretty tight from the swelling and MUST learn to eat slower and take smaller bites and chew more. Its a learning process. I have only dropped 4 pounds since surgery but I think I can really tell a difference in my face already... Hope every one else is doing well.....

    Someone please help

I got banded on Thursday, tonight I got into a fight with my husband and was very angry. during the arguement I had a water bottle and apparently drank to much to fast. I guess the stress of the arguement tightened me up too. It has now been 2 1/2 hours and I still haven't loosened up for the water to go down and it hurts. I tried a ice pack for over an hour and walked but nothing seems to work. I am afraid to take another drink cause it will cause more pain, suggestions please.....

    I made it...

Hey guys, just thought i would give an update since i posted same day as surgery, well that night was BAD!!! My pain meds made me have the dry heabes so I couldn't take it, it was a miserable evening, I only had 2 supositories for nasea and I used them during the night. The next day I called the Dr as soon as they opened, they gave me different pain meds and some nasea meds, was better that day, but very uncomforatble, last night I slept well and today I have been up and about quite a bit, I actually just watered the flower bed and pulled a FEW weeds, not many, they were just driving me nuts. Pain hasn't been real bad today, gas has increased but coming out, THANK GOD!!!! I am starving though and my stomache is rumbling like crazy, I had my 1st protein shake this morning and I actually hurt for awhile, I may have drank to fast, I had about 3oz in 30 min.... So I am hanging in there but can't wait to have some cream soups or something with some stubstance. I know this is kind of long but thanks for all your support.
  14. oh I am so glad i am not alone. I am only 3 days out from surgery and my tummy has been grumbling constantly. I did try a protein drink this morning for the first time and I was miserable for awhile I may have drank it too fast, I drank about 3oz in 30 min. But the rubling in my tummy cause me to be unab;e to go to sleep last night I had yo get up and get some broth for it to settle down, is that wrong?

Looks like it, but it may depend on your company too.

Great News for people insured by Aetna

LOL, no april fools joke just a typo!!! They really did change it, isn't that great!!!!!!!! It now shows the same requirements for RNY as lapband, no more pushing people to have RNY. Praise God!
  21. Hi everyone, Has anyone here used obesitylaw.com lawyers for their appeals? If so what was the outcome and if u don't mind me asking what is the general price you had to pay? I am thinking about it, since aetna is such a butt!!!
  22. rroswelltx

    I have been denied!!!!

I hve been denied by Aetna. I can't stand them, they approved my for RNY but I do not want that. I just don't understand it. Trying to keep my chin up and prepare for the appeal battle, but the doctors office says that it is probably futile with Aetna because they just won't approve it. I had all the paperwork and background stuff, I just don't have IBS, stomache adhesions, sclerorsis of the liver and all that junk!!!!! ARGH!!!!
  23. rroswelltx

    Aetna said "NO!" - HELP!!!

I am awaiting now my answer from Aetna. I turned in so much documentation it wasn't funny! I am just praying that it will be the right answer. Rene, I am going to Dr. Fox too.
