About Me

  • Gender
    Female
  1. I am three and a half months out from surgery and as of today I've lost 42lbs. I went through mist of December either not losing or fluctuating between staying the same and gaining 2lbs. I have since started losing again. I have found that every once in awhile the weight loss stalls for a bit. If you are eating enough protein, drinking your water and getting exercise you will start to lose again. Give yourself a break and be a little patient. Look at how well you've done so far. 2. I was very careful with my calories. I did low calorie protein shakes for breakfast and lunch then had about 3oz of protein and a veggie for dinner. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I promise it will get better. I had surgery on 11/7 and didn't really eat or drink for four days. Slowly but surely I started to eat and drink. It takes time and patience to learn how to eat and drink again. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  6. As of tomorrow I am 5 weeks out from surgery. The day before my procedure I was so nervous and felt like I was on the verge of tears all day. The day of surgery I woke up feeling calm and excited. I knew this was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Everyday is a learning experience as far as food is concerned. At 5 weeks out I am 30lbs down. I feel great. You will feel great too. Good luck with your surgery. Once tomorrow comes the time will fly. Please keep us posted. 3 week stall

Thank you everyone!!! I am also in the middle of week 3 and I am going down in ounces and that isn't everyday. While I have been a little disappointed, I know it's only temporary. I appreciate all of you being so reassuring that the numbers will start going down again. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I felt really nauseous for the first 4 days after surgery. Everything made me feel nauseous from Water to the meds I was prescribed for the nausea. I know it might be little comfort but it does get better. Very small sips. It might help. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and feel really good now. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. Big Day Today 23/11

I had my sleeve done on the 7th of November. I felt afraid the day before my surgery. The day of I was remarkably calm. It's so great that you have people who support you. I did as well and it made all b the difference. You can't control what others think. Those who would think this is the easy way out could not be more wrong. For me this was all that was left. I am 60 years old and my weight has been steadily going up all of my life. I've been on every diet or so it seemed. I couldn't do it anymore. You know what is right for you so trust that you have made the best decision to enable you to have a healthy life. Good luck with your surgery. I know you'll do great!! Bypass or sleeve?

I chose sleeve because the thought of bypass was really scary. While having the sleeve is removing 80%of the stomach, bypass changes the natural path of things and there are far more issues with eating involved. I know you can gain weight with any bariatric procedures. People figure out ways to get around the problems enabling them to eat whatever they want. This journey is a long one. While I know I will eat a few chips and some dip or a bite or so of desert now again, I won't eat the entire thing. It's still about the choices we make. I believe that having the sleeve just encourages me to make better choices. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm sorry you feel you are on this journey alone. I had my sleeve done on November 7th. I started the journey once before about 3 or so years ago. I stopped because not only was I not really ready but my husband did not support the decision. I let the sway my decision to have the surgery. This past June I started my journey again. I sat down with my husband and told him that this surgery was something I needed to do to get healthy. I told him I needed his support. I understand how he felt but this was a huge decision and I needed as much support as possible. He agreed to be my support. I told him to do some research, which he did. We discussed the procedure often pre-op. Since the 7th my husband has been great. He takes me wherever I need to go and does whatever he can do to keep me from doing more than I should do. Believe me it was a real accomplishment getting him to this point. We've been married for over 30 years. If this surgery is what you feel you want and more importantly need than try sitting down with him and telling him that you need his support. It's important to you. Our decision to do this is not an easy one so we need as much support as posdible. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Pain management

I also had surgery on the 7th. I am virtually pain free now. If I do too much my one larger incision hurts some. You should not still be in pain. Please go to the ER and get checked out. Good. luck..I hope you feel better soon. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  14. Be very careful. The easiest time to become pregnant is after a weight loss. Good luck. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
