I am so thankful that I found this thread! I will be around 185 on surgery date and I am not telling anyone because I know that they will try and talk me out of it. My husband is supportive because he has known my battle for my entire life. I had a girl teach me how to binge and purge when I was in fourth grade and it's been out of control ever since then. Obviously I don't do that anymore but I do battle with my weight and I certainly don't want my daughters to ever have to walk the same path I have walked. I can't wait to follow everyone's progress! I will be going to OCC in Tijuana on January 13 and I can't wait! Thank you so much to everyone who has shared similar stories, it is very refreshing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am in the same boat- but I am confident my body will regulate itself as it adjusts to new caloric intake etc. I have battled my weight all my adult life and my body always slips back to a certain (too high!) number when I stop being super vigilant about my intake. As I am getting older I am having tons of pain in my hips and knees so I know it's time even though some may think I am "too small" for the tool. The thought of getting SO thin I would feel too small is almost unfathomable! Surgery for me is 1/13- less than a month!!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Newbie here! I'm scheduled for my sleeve on January 13, 2017. I'm so excited to change my life! Went out today and bought a GOAL dress :-) it is a size small (????) slinky little black Michael Kors number and my goal is to go on a hot date with my hubby wearing that dress next summer! He said I should put it on and take a picture so that we have something to compare it to when it actually fits! Anyone else starting 2017 off with a life-changing bang?? Anyone else have a GOAL outfit hanging up to keep you in track?

@ I feel ya! I am nervous too. But then I catch a glimpse in the mirror or of a photo and feel a pain in my knee and I am reminded why I am doing this. I hope you get a Jan date so we can be on similar timelines and help each other along! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Looking for experiences from ladies who had a prior breast augmentation before their sleeve. How did your weight loss affect your implants? Did they sag? Did your skin bounce back in a way that kept them perky? After breast-feeding for nearly 3 years total between my two kids I ended up having a lift and implants placed. The girls look great even though they do have a little extra padding around them these days… Wondering what is going to happen to them when I lose weight. Also, for those who had an IUD in place, did this affect your weight loss at all? Considering having mine removed early next year sometime and having the hubby go in for the old snip-snip. I sometimes worry that the hormones from my Mirena are making it even more difficult for me to lose, and may make it more difficult even after the surgery Surgery scheduled for January 13, 2017. Just getting all my ducks in a row. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Questions for the LADIES
DogRescueGal replied to DogRescueGal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Did you have a period before with your IUD? I haven't had one since my first Mirena was placed about 7.5 years ago... wondering if spotting will be triggered. I have heard a lot from ladies who started their periods right after surgery. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Not telling anyone. What do you say?
DogRescueGal replied to Ssze1109's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am not telling either- I know they will try to talk me out of it. My hubby knows and is fully supportive. I have told one friend and her husband bc she was sleeved a year and a half ago- she inspired me to do it and she is kind of my mentor in the whole process. Maybe I will tell after the fact- maybe not. It's noone's business but mine. I plan on just saying the same business about working with my doc/nutritionist, low carbing, exercising etc.... it will all be true. I am a bit worrried about energy loss after surgery bc I am an aid in a kindergarten classroom though! Bring on the B12. Non Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

January or February 2016 Sleevers?
DogRescueGal replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is January 13, 2017! I have to do all liquids one week prior to surgery. They want me to lose 10 pounds before surgery and have advised me to start basically following Atkins phase 2 to achieve that. So excited to get the process rolling, only two months to go!
