Help me set realistic expectations
kell911 replied to Tanyatata's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 8 moths out, I started at 212 also 5'2". The first month a lot came off. Then it slowed to about 4-9 pounds a month. Then there was a month the scale did not budge. You will lose inches when that occurs. Your mind set needs to remain on the end goal. Don't get frustrated because the number on the scale didn't move...It sucks but get over it and fast because some people get depressed. Keep your body moving!!!Drink your water and get your protein. Those are not the easiest things to do, I still struggle with both! I was able to reach my Dr's goal of 143 at 6 months, my personal goal is 137 by my birthday. I did not make it but I still felt good and was okay with that. Little goals before BIG ones! Good luck... Kelley -
This sleeve has been a blessing. I am 5.5 months out and 6 lbs from my Dr.s goal and 12lbs from my personal goal.

I agree, need to drink the protein! It is the most important. How much are you consuming of the refried beans? even though they are good for you , they are high carb's. tofu? does tofu have any nutritional value? Look at what you are consuming..and walk...no empty calories.. -

Need Cottage Cheese Pancakes Recipe
kell911 replied to SleeveDreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The one I use is one that I put together and is amazing... 2 cups 3 min stone ground oats 1 to 2 cups cottage cheese ( I prefer 2 cups) 5 egg whites 1 tsp vanilla ext. cinnamon to taste 1/4 cup ff milk or almond milk 2 scoops of protein of choice pecans or walnuts optional let sit about 5-10 mins I use a 1/4 cup to scoop it to cook on pan. I freeze what I have and heat in microwave. Great go to breakfast and can make a lot and have ready at any time. -
His insurance has criteria that has to be met. BMI with the 1-2 comorbidities, with possible other requirements. Do you know what they are?

kell911 replied to jausch's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to use a BCBS center of Excellence. Austin Texas. I had the best experience and I paid the hospital 25$, surgeon 200$, and office visits 40$ each, psych 100$, Nut 125$. That was all of my out of pocket paid. I had my surgery March 6th, just got the itimimized bill with all costs of 52K. I am blessed I had to pay none of that!!!! GOOD LUCK! -

Pre op diet and depression
kell911 replied to Elizabethtash's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is part of the process. You are making better choices and it is difficult. Not eating those food from Md's is a milestone. It will bet better. The pre op will be tough but it will be worth it! -
I have been working on getting this surgery for a while now. I first wanted to do it in Mexico husband talked me out of that and that was about 1.5 years ago. I now have insurance that covers it at 100% with just co copays. I have aid about $600 and that is it. AWESOME! RIGHT?! My surgery is Monday the 6th. So EXCITED but yet very sad because my marriage my friendship with my husband is in the crappers..My heart is Sad and feels like no matter how hard I try it won't get better. I just want to be happy that I am doing this and life will be better. Or that is what I am telling myself. He will be there the day of surgery which i am glad about. I want him there. I am just wanting this time to be joyful and this experience to be one of the highlights of my life.
