Help me set realistic expectations
kell911 replied to Tanyatata's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 8 moths out, I started at 212 also 5'2". The first month a lot came off. Then it slowed to about 4-9 pounds a month. Then there was a month the scale did not budge. You will lose inches when that occurs. Your mind set needs to remain on the end goal. Don't get frustrated because the number on the scale didn't move...It sucks but get over it and fast because some people get depressed. Keep your body moving!!!Drink your water and get your protein. Those are not the easiest things to do, I still struggle with both! I was able to reach my Dr's goal of 143 at 6 months, my personal goal is 137 by my birthday. I did not make it but I still felt good and was okay with that. Little goals before BIG ones! Good luck... Kelley -

I agree, need to drink the protein! It is the most important. How much are you consuming of the refried beans? even though they are good for you , they are high carb's. tofu? does tofu have any nutritional value? Look at what you are consuming..and walk...no empty calories.. -

Need Cottage Cheese Pancakes Recipe
kell911 replied to SleeveDreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The one I use is one that I put together and is amazing... 2 cups 3 min stone ground oats 1 to 2 cups cottage cheese ( I prefer 2 cups) 5 egg whites 1 tsp vanilla ext. cinnamon to taste 1/4 cup ff milk or almond milk 2 scoops of protein of choice pecans or walnuts optional let sit about 5-10 mins I use a 1/4 cup to scoop it to cook on pan. I freeze what I have and heat in microwave. Great go to breakfast and can make a lot and have ready at any time. -

His insurance has criteria that has to be met. BMI with the 1-2 comorbidities, with possible other requirements. Do you know what they are?

You will be fine! You either want this or you don't! I am assuming you do! You have made it to this point! DON'T STOP!!!! okay, I am 11 weeks out.....I made it and I LOVE FOOD! LOVE LOVE FOOD!!! BUT! I LOVE ME MORE! The liquids SUCK! yes. I found that if I really need something to eat during my 2 wk liquid I looked up protein shakes, made ice cream.. FROZEN YOGURT with fruit, frozen sugar free pudding pops. SEARCH THE INTERNET. If it is liquid and you can freeze it YOU GOT THIS! GOOD LUCK..SEE YOU ON THE LOSERS BENCH!!! Kell -
