I don't know where you live, but there are band fill doc's all over the us now. Just google it and you will see. The cost I read is 250.00 for a fill.

Its an easy surgery I had it on aug 14.2008, I don't think you loose as quickly as you can with the band but most people I talked to were very satisfied. I lost 29lbs from pre diet to one week ago, but since I have been eating solid food now I have gained 2 lbs. Everybody says its just a plateau and it happens at this time but I am a little worried. good luck

Hi I got the sleeve on 8/14/08 and like you I am very worried about the amount of food I can eat. I lost 29 lbs post op 7 and after 21. I started eating soft food at 2 weeks and now I am at 3 weeks I am eating everything I want. I have gained two lbs back and I am hungry. Most people I talked to said they had no hunger, but i do if its been a while since I ate last , Like this morning I went to the DR and I had a atkins shake at 8am but did not get to eat again until 1pm and i was very hungry. I am glad I found your post. I had the sleeve with DR Huacuz on 8-14-08 ,22 days ago and I am an eating frenzie. I think it is because I have had only liquids for a month and I needed to taste food again. Needless to say my weight loss of 29 lbs is now 28 lbs and I have of course stalled. I have heard this is common and I am going to quit worring about it because it is making it worse. thanks judy

My head hunger is awful. I hope it subsides soon. I am at 3 weeks and eating everything in site, in small bites of course. judy

Thanks for the advise, I think that is a good diet and I should be on it too. I think since it was 3 weeks yesterday and I had not had solid food for over a month I just went crazy eating even when I was not hungry just for the taste. I have to get over it and move on. I was glad to hear that it is common to stall at 3 or 4 weeks. I was very worried. thanks Judy

I had the vgs 3 weeks ago today, so far I love it, however my weight loss has stalled for the last 5 or 6 days when I started eating regular food. I guess I still have to watch all that icecream and cookies. goodluck Jlweb55

No you do not feel like you do with the band , I have the band and now I have the sleeve. I feel normal, just full with the sleeve, It did not force me to stop eating icecream and cookies, I am having to work on my head hunger, I am not hungry at all now, just old habits. jlweb55

Dr Huacuz was my doctor, and he is very good, I did use a patient fac. to book my surgery, but it turned out very good. thanks jlweb55

congrats I am 3 weeks post op today. I love the sleeve, No hunger, I did start eating after 2 weeks and it has stalled my weight loss. Up till then I had lost 29 lbs. I will have to get the icecream and cookies out of my diet. Jlweb55

I went to mexico for my sleeve, cost was 9500.00. The doc was great and surgery went very well. The surgery was very easy and I could have returned to work in a week. It was the only thing I would consider for weight loss surgery. thanks jlweb55

Thanks, I feel a little better now , I know it has to be to much carb, I was without any for a month and kinda went wild with the skinny cow icecream. I will cut it out today. jlweb55

I had the sleeve on aug 14th, I lost 29 lbs from then to aug 29, was on a liquid diet from aug 4 to aug 29. Now that I am on real food my weight loss has stopped. I hope it will continue soon, Its been 6 days and no weight loss. I ate a whole slice of pizza last night. The surgery was easy and I had the band in the early 90's when it was not ajustable and it did not work. All the people I know with the band are having trouble or have had to let it all the way out. One friend just had to have polups removed from inside her stomach where the band is.

I had the band put on 15 years ago when it was not adjustable, it did not work for about 20% and it did not work for me so I had it removed in about 18months later. I now have congestive heart failure and diabetes because of the weight I carried around all theese years, If I too could have stuck to the adkins lifestyle or zone i would be quite small and in good health. that is why i think i would be crazy to get the band again because even though it is adjustable now , I think it is not going to change the kind of food i will eat. I also think that since my insurance will not pay that i may be getting myself into a lot of trouble with more cost if I have a complications. I just started reading this blog today and joined today, but I think I am going to have to do this thing myself if I can. I know what you go thru with it, the gas, food getting stuck and I don't want to go thru that again. Also i am 55 and not looking to look great only feel great. I only need to loose 75 lbs so I best get started, Atkins her I come again for the 50th time , hope I LOOSE THE 80 LBS i LOST ON IT TWO TIMES BEFORE THIS TIME I WILL TRY TO KEEP IT OFF FOR GOOD. GOOD LUCK TOO ALL OF YOU WITH THE BAND , I JUST DON'T THINK IT IS WORTH THE RISK FOR ME.
