Considering a sleeve in Tijuana.
jillyd replied to kellybelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery at Tijuana bariatrics, Dr Garcia. The medical staff, hospital and hotel were great. Very clean and someone was always there to help. Good luck on your new path in life. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -
It Really Does Get Better
jillyd replied to Jamieson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I had my surgery on 10/21/16. My start weight preop was 266 and now I'm at 243. WooHoo! I am not stressing over pounds because i know those numbers will go lower in time. But I am struggling with overall intake of liquids and Protein. The first week was rough with just liquids. Now that I moved to puree foods, I thought it would get easier but I am struggling with getting everything in (liquids, protein, food). I don't feel hungry and I get indigestion often. I can barely get 1 Protein shake in and I sip on Water throughout the day. Trying to fit puree food in between is hard especially when I don't feel hungry or really want anything. I hope it gets better. I am trying to stay positive. I am excited to have a happier, healthier life. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Not sure about laying on the belly you really don't want to put any pressure on your abdomen and the premier Protein shakes are pretty tasty, watch the sweets you want to minimize your sugar intake, but congratulations on your lose that is awesome! I am now 3 weeks post op and enjoy trying the soft foods ???? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

The tiredness has finally went away for me, that was my biggest concern about going back to work too soon. I think it happens because our bodies are not use to the low amount of food and nutrients. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

I had my surgery in Mexico. I fortunately have a doctor here that is accepting to treat me for follow ups. I did a lot of research prior to having surgery for a doctor close to where I live that would see me, knowing I went out of the country. So if it takes the extra drive to see someone I would do it. I had my surgery on Oct 21 and I'm on puree foods now. I am struggling with getting the right about of liquids, Protein and food in a day..it takes me over an hour to get a Protein shake down and I sip on Water throughout the day. I rarely feel hungry and make myself eat something in between, but it just doesn't seem like it's enough. Any advice would be great. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
