lo2us, that post makes me smile. Back in '05, I spent about $1000 to have my wife's wedding set resized (larger) and guards put on both sides of the original rings. The jeweler did a fantastic job, Joy just about had a breakdown waiting to get it back and I was well "thanked" afterwards. Now....18 months after band surgery and almost 60 pounds later, I'm looking at having to have the dang thing resized again (smaller). She reached up the other night to flip some hair back into place and it almost went sailing across the room....and I would GLADLY pay the price again.

<p>Sandra, I check the local biker happenings at East Texas Motorcycle Riders Forum . It's for all us folks that live out here in the sticks. Our big thing is getting together at Herschel's (burger joint) on a Friday night, kicking a few tires, admiring everybody's ride and swapping a few ride stories and a bunch of lies. </p> <p> </p> <p>Cindi, I don't know about the seat on the RoadKing, but I think I'm starting to grow webbing between my toes....Eeeeeeeew! Last time I looked, a family of spyders had taken up residence in my motorcycle boots. :-(</p> <p> </p> <p>I did want to clarify something.....my wife had her band placed 18 months ago. The surgery the other day was some female plumbing problems that she has been wrestling with for a while. So far, things are looking good, no problems. Gotta go back in 3 weeks for the all clear.</p>

Carol, I've been busy getting Joy back and forth from the hospital. She did her surgery on Friday morning and we came home on Saturday. She didn't react ANYTHING like either of us thought she would (thank you, God). I like the trailer idea, we could probably have a great time watching all those people go back and forth....LOL Let me know when and which way you are going to Sturgis. I've got the time off, but I haven't convinced myself to go, yet.

Kacee, just give those fill some time. Some people don't feel them kick in for a week or two. Just don't go too far too fast. Better to go slow than to have to take some back out.

Fed Up, Had-it, Ready To Give Up
MyKdsDad replied to Bamalama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beverly, get a grip. You're going to go through all this cr@p and pitch it at the last minute???? What the heck??? You can do this! Think of all the time and effort and money and pain and torment you put into getting FAT over the years. A little bit more to start getting thinner ain't no big thang... Just bust a move the next time you go in to the office then blame it on the lack of horrormones. Do a little bit of screaming ranting and raving and I'll bet you get some action. It might not be exactly what you want, but it beats not getting any reaction at all, right? ***This has all been said a bit tongue-in-cheek...a bit!*** -
Cindi, I like the prayer! We (DW and I) haven't been riding much lately. Between her surgery and the friggin' rain, it just ain't happenin'. We ride a '98 HD RoadKing Classic with the tour pack. We made it down to ROT and met Carol and her friend, Leroy. Since then we've been parked, mostly.

Tgirl, I'd like to say that my wife is 18 months post-op and still gets the shoulder pain. It is a sign that she needs to eat something, some little something. It keeps her from getting ravenous. Now, if the pain is below and a little bit to the left of her left breast, she's got indigestion.....go figure. You just have to learn to live with your band and it's little excentricities. Good luck. Oh! and my wife says, GAS-X strips! Dissolve on your tongue.

Brandy, I have no idea what it means, but I did want to tell you, congratulations and welcome to Bandlandia! May you trip be a good one! And may your loss be great!

How soon can my husband & I be intimate?
MyKdsDad replied to annielkd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to say that there are more than one way to be intimate. You could just lay together and cuddle. You could give each other intimate massages. You can always "speak your piece". The main thing is, if it ain't comfortable or it's painful, it ain't happenin'. JM2CW. -
This is totally off topic, but I could really use some feedback...

I believe that is what they call a "relative vacation". You go on vacation where ever there is a relative that is willing to take you in. Of course, you get to dump all your "baggage" on them, too. Next thing you know, if you let them in the door, you'll be baby sitting while she runs over to see an old friend. (Seems to me I heard something about an old friend, somewhere....?) But the CHOICE is yours. -
clynnc, You wimped out on us??? And you missed an awesome concert! And the most important part, you missed meeting us and Carol!!!!!! hehehe We thought about the party downtown, but heard it was a MASS of seething humanity. Glad we passed. Next year we should plan a bandster party, show those skinny little chicks with no, uh, ummmm, uh, well, show 'em!

Alexandra, good news and good luck. A safe surgery and a quick, painless recovery.

Derick, first of all, quit going to the person in the front office. They've been working there for years and they STILL don't know what is going on. Go talk to one of the foreman. Ask for a day job, to start off. Show him what you're made of. Maybe you'll have to work several "days", but don't give up the ship. When you know you have his eye, ask HIM for a full time job. Oh, and lay it all on the line for him, just like you laid it on the line in here. You'll get the job....and if you don't, f*ck him, too.
-
Well, like I told Carol, I'll try not to look to close. I'll cover my eyes but I might peak through my fingers....LOL Carol, we'll talk to you Saturday or when ever. CLynnC, if you come, be careful and keep your knees in the breeze.
-
clynnc , sounds great. Come and join in the fun. Leave your granny and your modesty in Houston.....LOL On a more serious note, my wife, Joy, would never even consider doing something wild and crazy. But we both enjoy watching all the wild and crazy folks at the rally.
-
Joy and I actually pulled in at Gander Mountain and picker her up some Frogg Toggs and goggles. I learned my lesson a long time ago and I haven't found ANYTHING better than the Toggs.
-
Carol, I hear you about the rain. Got my fingers crossed. And we'd love to get together. I'll send you something in a PM to make the connection.
-
Dang Carol, you missed a couple of bugs right there in your lower row of teeth....hehehe YOU IS A BIKER, for sure! As for the rain gear, I hope you picked up a pair of Frogg Toggs (best gear I've found). I haven't been riding much because it seems to be raining EVERY FRIGGIN' DAY in this part of the country. Out of four days at work, I got to ride home in the rain twice. The Toggs kept me warm and dry, but it still SUCKED! Looking forward to ROT. The girls (wife, sister and friend) are going down on Wednesday. They have an early appointment for a fitting at one of the shops down there. I'll be down Thursday afternoon to check in at the Crown Plaza. If you come by, just look for the 95th Anniversary Roadking Classic with the leather tour pack. And the wide whitewall tires... Beachgirl, good luck and how did you do?
-
Carol, I won't be on till late Sunday so I wanted to say I hope your ride went well and you had a great time. Tell us all about it. I'm envious. I did get out today and ride about 100 miles. Not nearly enough.
-
*sigh* My evil side is coming out.....lol I'm thinking of a birthday present that would involve liquid that just about every man would enjoy.....*BIG HUGE GRIN* Ok! I won't go there any more....in this thread.....LOL
-
Holy crap, BeachGirl! Sounds like your old man went all out. If you can be in Austin, Texas the first weekend in June, join us for the R.O.T. rally. Things can get a bit wicked on Saturday night (the 2nd) what with Grand Funk Railroad and the Guess Who playing at the concert. But the bike parade with all the half naked people is pretty fun to watch. More details at www.rotrally.com . Whatever you do, enjoy that new dresser.
-
OK, it's been raining cats, dogs, moose and kangaroos around here for the last two weeks. All you lurking bikers post something about your latest ride so I'll have something to occupy my daydreams until the Republic of Texas rally. Note to Carol, we'll be staying at the Crown Plaza, I think it is, on 35.

396, I say, eat! Be happy! The day will come when your little band buddy will put a screeching halt to your over eating. Well, you'll still over eat, but it will magically re-appear shortly after consumption. That's why a lot of these people have a band. All you have to do is retrain yourself not to over stuff your banded stomach.
-
Shannon, congratulations on getting banded. Sounds like your doing a pretty good job on the liquids. Maybe you should stay on them. My wife says that every time she goes on them after a fill, that's when she seems to really start losing. And I can't imagine cooking all that food and being on liquids at the same time. I think I'd have to tell them to go eat take out....LOL

Hi Billie and congratulations on your weight loss. You're doing fantastic! But aren't you going into debt buying all those new clothes? hehehe Ain't it great?
