Hi Krissy, my wife and I are both from Houston. I graduated from Waltrip High School...a looooooooooooong time ago. LOL
-
Hi Georgia, I think the man you want to talk to is Jack. In one of his posts today, he was telling me that he has gone from 200 units a day to 45 units for the whole month of December. Keeping in mind that he has also lost something like 80 pounds.
-
Now, Cindy, that's a great idea. She's already commenting about the fact that she actually has ankles again. I'll do it! Thanks.
-
I sure will Jack and thank you for the support. I guess it all just takes time.
-
Nancy, Alex, Carrie....thank you, ladies. I figure it is just anxiety over her changing relationship with food. Like others, she's tried a lot and failed to lose and keep it off. She just so desperately wants this to work and to "hear" about all the bad is just too much, I guess. But I will pass all your good wishes along to her. And thanks again.

From what I've heard, they're all true....LOL

Hey, the poor kid has got to get an education some where...(did I really say that?)

Back to Liquids & Mushies? Confused!
MyKdsDad replied to texasvixxen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tanya, it's my understanding that you have to give your body a chance to get use to the restriction. You wouldn't want to get a fill, eat a meal and realize that it ain't goin' thru the smaller opening. -
Indy, nice present. But the Virago ain't bad either. So what about it, you and the DH going to Sturgis this year? Vinesqueen, ouch! And then people wonder why bikers wear leather. It's to keep our skin from contacting the pavement.

Best thing I can tell you from where "we" are at this moment is to follow the doctors orders to the letter. MsJoy has used some tylenol for fever (low grade) and phenegren for nausea. So far she hasn't hit the prescription pain killer. She's basically sleeping, going to the bathroom and eating a few bites and there haven't been any major problems.

One of the major things you can do is wash, wash, wash your hands. -
Celeste, what salesman wouldn't love to see you coming in his door. And he could sell you a motorcycle, too Right now mine only has about 29K miles on it, lots of riding yet to do.
-
Heck yeah, Betty. The matching bikes look good! And ditto on the big, comfy seat. I put a new Sundowner seat on the RoadKing right before the DC trip. Worlds of difference. And the back seat is a little wider for the DW.
-
Eileen, you don't have to get a bike to learn how to ride. Here in Texas they offer a Motorcycle Riders Safety Course. Two whole days, 7 hours in a class room and a whole day of learning the bike and riding. I think the cost runs about $150 and THEY supply the bikes.

Hi Kerry, welcome to lapbandia. My DW (darling wife) was banded on the 28th. From what I've learned, you are healing, no fill or restriction, so you can eat anything you want. Just don't overdo or you may do some damage. The Doctors in the states like you you stay on a "thick" liquid diet for about a week or two and then move on to the mushies (mashed bananas and mashed potatoes and such). When you are healed you have to work WITH your band. Follow a healthy diet and the band will help you limit the size of the meal. When you get a fill, the meals will get even smaller. If you lose about 2-3 lbs a week, you'll be doing great.

Question 3, the answer is Lap Band Talk, as in LapBandTalk.com. Question 4, I think the question is what is NSV? They are Non Surgical Victories. Question 2, make WHAT easier, hon? Question 1, not a clue. DW used Dr. Jayaseelan, BlueCrossBlueShield insurance, Pine Creek Medical Center. Good luck with the reduction...

DeLarla passing on a party....???? I'm trying to picture this..... :-) Be well, young lady.
-
Dr Kuri, eh? Hmmmmmm, where have I heard that name before?
-
DeLarla, you going to Sturgis this year? I've been wanting to get out to Vegas for their bike rally. Isn't it usually in September? MsJoy and I try to make it out there for our anniversary on the 5th and they always have the rally the week after we are there. Karen, I have nothing against the rocketeers. If you've got a bike and you ride that's good for me. Just don't ride it like you left your brain at home.
-
Bonnie, the best idea I've heard about is make your reservations, box up your "stuff" and ship it in via UPS, ride your bikes and stay at motels/hotels along the way. When you get there, set up your stuff. When you leave, ship it all back home.
-
And that is what Victor and I did. The crotch rocketeers passed us about halfway down, we passed them when they stopped for a break and they caught us at the bottom. I averaged about 25 coming down and it was a blast. I did the Dragon's Tail on my way to Washington, DC for Rolling Thunder.
-
That would be me and Victor E. Bear (a riding partner from my daughter) riding the 11 miles and 318 curves through Deal's Gap, TN on May 25th, 2005.
-
OK, I'll give this a try...
-
JaLynn, Sturgis isn't but a day ride for you two. You mean you let him ride a Yamaha to Sturgis? :-)
-
You go, girl! MsJoy (DW) rides two up with me. I've tried to get her interested in driving, but she wants a trike. That way she doesn't have to worry about falling over if she forgets to put her foot down at a stop. LOL
