Attention All Biker Ladies - and Gentlemens!
MyKdsDad replied to Archermom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Shadow, I knew there was a reason I lived in Texas. It is suppose to be some where around 80 today. Lets ride! ! ! -
Whosyadaddy, make it a good one. I actually found mine on Ebay, drove up and checked it out and rode it home. Carol, I know exactly where Stone Henge is. We stopped in Hunt on one of our rides. The river valley is a fantastic ride with all those low water crossings. Only problem was, at the time, it was raining cats and dogs. But I LOVE riding the Hill Country on the bike. Harley Girl, welcome and congratulations! Come back often and regale us with the stories of your rides. But you'll be hard pressed to top Wonder Woman....hehehe Jax, you know what a job is, don't you? That is where we all go between rides....dang it!!! And I still don't know why they won't just send my paycheck to the house and let me stay on the bike??? Go figure!

What in the world has happened to our thread? Everybody out riding or suffering from the winter blues? Cabin fever, maybe? I'be been able to get out and ride around town a couple of times in the last week, but now we have a front and more bad weather moving in. Flash Flood watches and all that good stuff. Gotta love spring time in Central Texas. Everybody needs to sound off and check in...

Hi D! Welcome to LBT. Check out some of the other threads in here. Jax has only had her band for a couple of months. She could probably give you the most recent advise and experiences. How long have you been riding? I've got relatives down your way. Jackson, in fact, and Long Beach.

Attention All Biker Ladies - and Gentlemens!

GBG, sounds like you and your man have the brains to go with the desire. A friend thought he could handle a Harley Roadking, even though he hadn't been on a bike in forever. He hit some loose gravel his first day out, went off the road and is no longer with us. The best thing to have going for you is training and experience. How do you like the automatic transmission? Does it shift pretty smooth? What about down shifting? Any problems? I've been thinking of picking up a Silver Wing for my wife. I hadn't heard of the Majesty. -
I use to ride the deserts around Yuma, AZ. I had a Honda Thumper. That was a street legal/trail bike 350cc. I had a blast doing all that back when I was 30 years younger and 90 lbs lighter. I finally got to the point in my life where I could afford a nice touring bike. I've done about 30K miles in the last 5 years. Sturgis and Washington, D.C. I told my wife she didn't have to worry about anything, why would I want to kill myself now??? But more power to you, Pilate. Ride it like you stole it!
-
Carol, congratulations! We were back down your way over the weekend, but we didn't call. I figured you would be out riding and leading and no where near Floresville. The whole time we were gone from home the weather was great (so I was told) and the day we got home it clouded up and today it has been raining like a b*tch. AND getting colder....dang I wish spring would hurry up and get here. A/C one day and the heater the next. And don't forget daylight savings time starts this coming weekend.

I was wondering...when it isn't oral sex, where does his ejaculate go? Or do you make him withdraw at the appropriate time? Or perhaps you require him to wear a condom at all times? I would think that if you don't want "trash" in your mouth or stomach, you may not want it anywhere else. But if you do, then maybe you are? In your opinion???? *wicked evil grin*
-
HarleyGirl, that's great! Good for you! And I'll bet it won't take you that long to get "back in the saddle." Good luck with your "ride."
-
Karen, sounds to me like you are on your way. When you mentioned that you are going to try an egg....that is one of the few things that my wife absolutely can NOT eat. They get stuck. But then again, you haven't had any fills yet....waaahaaaahaaaa (evil laugh) Enjoy, but remember, your job right now is to heal, not lose. And I hope this crappy weather we're having doesn't come your way. It has rained here just about all day.
-
OMG, Carol, you aren't going to whip them out again, are you??? LOL Just kidding, ya'll. I haven't seen them yet....*grin* You betcha, kiddo. We're gearing up. That is going to be one busy month. ROT till the 15th and Vegas on the 21st...woooo hoooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Speaking of that rain, Carol. It is rolling thru here as I type. And then it is suppose to cool down. I would say get cold, but whosyadaddy has a lock on the cold weather.

NOT Losing Weight anymore and Trying sooo hard
MyKdsDad replied to happy2be's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Happy, sorry to hear you're stalled. But the thing is, your band is still there doing it's thing and you aren't GAINING. My wife gets like this some times. She gets a fill, goes on liquids for a week and mushies for a week (doctor's orders) and that usually kick starts her weight loss, again. Doc told her that is she isn't losing, come in and they'll do an adjustment. That's probably what you need. -
Jax, no problem. Glad to send them out to anyone who needs them. I'm sitting here in my "office" and just heard a pack of bikes go by on the highway. I'm about two lots off of US Highway 84. I get lots of insentive to get up and go for a ride... Ride on...
-
HarleyGirl, welcome. Things here tend to take spurts. I guess it has something to do with the weather. When it's good, not much happening. What part of the country are you from? Central Texas here. '98 Roadking Classic.
-
Karen, hope your surgery was ok. I can't imagine ANY surgery being good. My God, they cut you open! Just take the time to heal, follow the doctor's orders to the T. Joy did and she hasn't had one BIT of a problem. In no time, you'll be puttin' around again.
-
Hey Steve, by now you should be moving kind of slow. I hope your surgery went ok. You'll be losing in no time, just take THIS time to heal. Don't worry about the weight loss. Jax, one of these days (or about 90 lbs from now) we're gonna have to ride down that way. Our daughter lives right outside Atlanta. Maybe we could work in some southern riding. I think I'd like to do the Key West Highway, too. Carol, How did the Sunday ride go? Seems like we just get into some decent weather up here and we get another one of those Pacific fronts. Cold and wet for a day or two, then cold and sunny. My poor bike hasn't been off the carport in about two weeks. *sigh*

Does 14cc band give same restriction as 10cc band?
MyKdsDad replied to divaofsongs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mona, it's sort of like when someone is choking you..... Makes no difference if it is Hulk Hogan or Twiggy. Choked is choked and I would imagine it would be the same with the band. You put enough saline in there and sooner or later, you're gonna get restriction. Don't you think? -
Delo, that's what my DW does to get things moving again. She noticed the difference after a couple of fills. Her doctor wants her to do a week of liquids and a week of mushies. She would drop quite a few pounds doing it that way, so now, when she stalls out, she'll do liquids for a few days and it gets the ball rolling again.

Dr. Jayaseelan doing fills on weekends?
MyKdsDad replied to *JASMINE*'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jas, how did it go? I just saw your post, but I believe they DO do fills on Saturdays. Sort of a "cattle call" type thing. Nothing but fills.... Let me know if you managed to get one. -
mandyjo, as you lose, the band sometimes gets loose, so you may need more than one more fill.
-
Oh, well, Angelica, I (we) rest our case.....
-
Nice ride, Karen. Yeah, you get to do all that riding but we....well, yeah....you know. But sometimes....! LOL I think my gray is showing. Welcome and glad to meet you. Good luck with the surgery. I'm sure it will go well. Ask Carol about riding shortly after surgery. I believe she took off and rode from San Antonio to Sturgis right after hers.

Lara, welcome to Bandland. Your post sort of got hijacked. To answer some of your concern, give yourself a break. The doctors talk about pounds per month. You're losing about 8-9 pounds a month. Have you had a fill yet? If not, then you really haven't gotten started. You're just walking around with a hunk of silicone around your stomach. You have been healing and you really shouldn't be all that concerned with losing. How long did it take you to put the weight on??? So you think it should come off over night, maybe a week or two? This tool is something to help you take it off slowly. You want to lose 25 pounds overnight, have the doctor take off a leg or something. You have to work at it. MsJoy is 2 years postop, down about 75 pounds and still losing. She has also had 6 or 7 fills. Just do what you are suppose to do and it will come.

When I opened the paper this morning I noticed that the Supreme Court is going to review a case where this man is the only one on death row in the U.S. because of rape. Yes, he committed the rape. He raped his eight (8) year old step daughter. His lawyers are saying that death is "cruel and unusual punishment" for this crime. That there are countless other people in prison for rape, but none of them are on death row. This man was judged by a jury of his peers and this was the judgement that they handed down. IMHO they got it right. Who should protect our smallest citizens? Who should say what is cruel and unusual? Asking the man on death row, he would probably say that the rape was good for her, made her a real woman. (I'm only guessing what he might say. You know he's already fug bucking wacko for having sex with an eight year old anyway.) Perhaps her mother would say that fifteen minutes alone in a room with her (the mother) and a baseball bat would be justice. I just can't believe that some jackdonkey in Louisiana (that's where it happened) thought that it should even be considered by the Supreme Court.

So whatever you do, don't be a cousin in Wheetsin's family...? (It's a joke people. I like the lady. Get a grip. (Had to cover my bu++ so people don't attack me))
