I Did It!!! (50 Pounds Gone Guys)
MyKdsDad replied to HeatherGurl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mandy, I just figured she could try 4 gallons, but 6 would be a bit much.....I guess she could tie one to each ankle??? LOL -
Will do, Betty. Thank you for your kind words. Really starting to worry a bit about this. Oh, say, rally in Groesbeck on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March (this weekend). Easyriders Bike Show on the 25th at Fairpark in Dallas....FYI

Just a bump and an update. She's still at it. Some days no, but most days yes. Going for a biopsy on the 9th with her GYN. I'm wondering, can't they do a scope thing or a dye/xray thing? I'm of the opinion that her body is trying to flush something out??? This is really getting old.......

I Did It!!! (50 Pounds Gone Guys)
MyKdsDad replied to HeatherGurl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Heather, I'm sure you do, but do you realize that 50 lbs is more than 4 GALLONS of water. Fill up 4 gallon jugs and try carrying them around for a couple of minutes... That's a great accomplishment, young lady. Congratulations! -
I heard that, Tricia. My wife is the one with the band and I was getting queasy watching her get her first fill. The PA stuck it in and wiggled it around and left it hanging there. They had to stand my wife up and do the whole process over again. Ouch! I'm glad they numbed her first.
-
Nykee, just imagine sitting there, watching it rain...it's cold...and you have to look past your Harley to see it all....*sigh* Winter really sucks!
-
Mary, the port is part of your band ensemble. It is sewn to the muscles of your abdomin and the skin is closed up over it. As the band is put in place to stay, so is the port.
-
Hmmmmm, well, MsJoy has the VG band and her first fill was 6CCs. She had some pretty good restriction for a couple of weeks, but now, she's about to eat everything in sight and she isn't due to go back for her second fill for another 4 weeks.
-
Karen, I'm sure you've heard about the time when Davidson (as in Harley Davidson) went to heaven and was explaining to God that if he had made women more like a motorcycle, men would have enjoyed it so much more. Riding thru the countryside, the wind, the sun, the adventure.... God replies, "Davidson, as I recall, more men ride MY model than ride yours." And I readily admit it...
-
Kathy is correct, mostly....hehehe I'm not banded and I try to support MsJoy as much as I can. I try being nice and "kidding" with everyone to bring a smile to some faces. But I can't help being a "horn dawg". LOL
-
Give a look at www.obesityhelp.com They can list the doctors in that area. Good luck with your search.
-
Scott, sounds like you're having it good. That's great! Just take your time and heal. Kat, some do well, some don't go AS well. The main thing to remember is to take it easy. Depending on what you do at work, 5 days should be enough. Just don't push it. My DW's doctor put her on a 20 lbs lift limit for 6 weeks. Good luck!
-
But why would you want to use the Splenda thing? Au natural is a good thing.....*mischevious grin*
-
still suffering . I think I am overfilled ???
MyKdsDad replied to dianeb's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Diane, go to www.obesityhelp.com and search for Band doctors in the Dayton Beach area. Then print out the page and start calling doctors until you find one that will work with you. There should be NO reason you can't get help from someone locally. -
LMAO That is one of the best "gotchas" I've seen in a while. You're right up againstthescreen and the dang thing flashes up and screams and I dang near flipped backwards out of my chair....
-
I need all of your thoughts on this...
MyKdsDad replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first question is, do you have the cash-o-lah to self pay, right now? I believe the first thing I would do (if you don't) is start saving toward that end. And if the insurance kicks in before you have the money, apply with it. If not, Viva Mexico! -
Dena, congratulations! On your approval and your date. Do you realize that it is less than a week from today? Just five days! And don't worry, the doc will take whatever the insurance pays. He'll probably just increase his charge a little to make up the difference. Good luck and keep us posted.

feeling dumb-can't even "cut" & paste
MyKdsDad replied to lady in red's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lambchops, you rock! Hang it there and you'll have that window decorated like a store front....LOL -
Karen, keep your face in the wind and the sun at your back. You can smell them coming and they won't be able to see you till it's too late. I know it will happen for you. One way or the other.
-
Hi, welcome to LBT and if I had done as well as you, I'd be screaming it from the rooftop. Good job!

I'm new and losing slowly
MyKdsDad replied to buchanank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well no kidding...NINE FILLS? Let me guess, they were putting in, like, .5 cc? My DW has the Vanguard also and her first fill was 6CC and she still doesn't have a lot of restriction. Since they got it figured out and got you filled good, I know you'll start to see better results. Don't lose your commitment. It will happen! Slow but sure..... -
Today's happy thought....well, actually it was yesterday, but MsJoy comes walking throught the living room holding her pants up and telling me she needs to buy some smaller size undies....LOL

New Kid on the block
MyKdsDad replied to pat whitaker's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Pat, welcome to LBT. Sorry about the trouble with your back, but I understand. My DW has trouble with hers, too. -
Welcome Kristin...congratulations on your surgery date.

OK, there she goes getting kinky. (handing ropes to Heather's DH) Heather, congratulations on an AWESOME achievement!! And as far as I'm concerned, you can do any kind of dance you want to. At any size..... *grin*
