Yes ma'am, my wife USUALLY gets a bruise. The doctor gives her a local and then the fill. Sometimes he has to "search" for her port and she gets a bruise. It'll be gone in now time, like all those pounds. :-)

We do tend to learn things the hard way, huh? One of the main things to keep in mind, when you get REALLY hungry, don't rush it.

My "so-far" pics.. nervous to post!

Crystal, no way! You must have had a pillow stuffed in your pants for that before picture???? Where did your butt go? And I can see the difference in your tummy, too. And you have NO reason to be embarrassed about those results. Keep doin' what you're doin', sugar. Good job! -
Becky, we live about a hundred miles south of Dallas, toward Houston. But if you go north from McKinney, just a little ways, you run into the area where my mom is from, Van Alstyne. Stylin' in our town is going downtown on a Friday or Saturday night and riding around the square (yes, it's square) so that all your friends get a look at you. Seeing and being seen, I guess. In Fairfield, the biggst thing is Sam's BBQ, out on the interstate. Mostly, we're a gas stop for folks on the way to Houston or Dallas. As for the band, Joy is losing very slowly. She's down to 218, down 83 lbs. Looking for onederland...wooohooooo!

Becky, you and my wife have the same doctor. We may have passed each other in the office? How close is "close to Dallas"? I've given lots of rides here in our little town. I always ask the question, "Go fast or go stylin'?" I have yet to go stylin'. Why is it women like to go fast? Get back to me, maybe I can help you out....

Must be riding season, ain't nobody posting squat. The only reason I'm on here is because of the threat of heavy rains and hail, today. I can handle the rain but those hailstones tend to sting. Let's hear about your most recent ride. Mine was down to Lake Somerville, just southwest of Bryan, TX. The Hawgs of Texas rally. Years ago they tried to promote it as a "family" oriented rally, but when you get bikers, beer and babes together the family thing sort of goes out the window. I rode in about noon and found a place to park the Roadking right there on the main drag, coming into the rally area. Walked over and got the t-shirt and a cold adult beverage, checked out the vendors, listened to some excellent rock and roll. After securing a second adult beverage, went back to the bike and sat there watching the parade of bikes and people at the rally. The two guys I parked by were REAL busy taking pictures. At one point I heard them talking about the 695 pictures they had on their camera. I hope their SD chip held out. This all continued until shortly before the sun went down. Having secured a room in Bryan as I drove thru, I left and went to my hotel. Upon arrival, I called a friend who lives in the area and we went to dinner at the IHOP. Good times, good friends, good food. As we parted ways later that evening, I noticed the skies lighting up and heard the far off rumble of thunder. As the storms moved into the area, I fell asleep in my warm, dry hotel room. The next morning was cool and cloudy so I decided to head to the house. A couple of hours later, pulled into the carport and had a great weekend with the missus.

Well, Joy's idea of roughing it is black and white television so we're staying at the Crown Plaza again this year. She is taking Friday off so we will be able to come down on Thursday. The closest we got to camping was the year we stayed at the Extended Stay place, right by the on ramp for I-35. Bikes were going on to the interstate all night long...you know, winding it up and blowing it out...we didn't get hardly any sleep until about 5 am and it all started back up about 5:30. Sheesh! I hope you have some luck with the picture...

Carol, sounds like you've been having plenty of fun. Congrats on the new Roadking. I know how much I enjoy mine. I really need to see a picture, though. Those colors sounds sort of strange...LOL Are you planning on making it up to ROT this year. Joy and I have our tickets and reservations. Three Dog Night and Charlie Daniels this year. I made a trip down to Lake Somerville for the Hawgs of Texas rally over the weekend. Had a good time. Hooked up with a couple of guys from Waco, had a couple of brewskis, sat on the Roadking and watched all the bikes and babes come and go, bought the t-shirt. I had enough sense to backtrack into Bryan for the night. Good thing, they had some major thunderstorms that night. I was snug in my hotel room....LOL Next up, Republic of Texas rally...

Roxanne, welcome to the boards. And about those temptations, me and Dave won't mind if you feel the need to whip off your shirt and flash us. We'll just have to bear up under the pressure. LOL Dave, I'm jealous. The Dragon is just a bit far for a weekend run for me. I certainly did enjoy my one trip thru there a while back. Even though the Roadking isn't exactly a "cornering" bike. But all those curves at 30 and 35 were a blast. And since I went down on a Wednesday, I had it mostly to myself.....very cool. Sherry, yes ma'am, she was able to get it down with no problems.
-
HarleyGirl, I'm gonna guess that you are somewhere close to Utah and Salt Lake....???? It doesn't even get above freezing there till about the third week of June, right? (grin)

Sherry, my wife had a little indigestion/reflux trouble a while back and she treated herself with Tagamet OTC. I guess it did the trick. She hasn't had any other problems since. Whosyadaddy, have your wife check out the Silverwing from Honda. Auto tranny, 650, step thru, storage. Look under the "Scooters" links on the left side bar.
-
Heck yeah....I rode to work. Ten miles out into the country. Only thing I have to watch for are the deer.
-
Sherry, very nice. Reminds me of the Honda Rebel that I had several years ago. And I'll bet it will have plenty of what you need it for. Congratulations!!
-
OK, where can I pick up a fur lined jock strap. These lower 40's mornings are putting the package in the deep freeze! ! ! Good thing I only have ten miles to ride, back to the house. And the ride TO work has been pretty nice...low 70's.

How much weight can the passenger weigh?
MyKdsDad replied to minpinmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wendy (also my daughter's name), if you feel the 800 is too small, you could trade up to the 1400 (I think it is), but I'm with Jack. You should have no problems on the Intruder. -

Love, we're in Texas, about halfway between Dallas and Houston. Out in the sticks. The Road Glide looks nice. I've only seen two other Road Kings like mine. I ran into a young man in Wyoming last year who had one. He was from South Carolina. -

Love, looks sweet. And you are packed for a trip, I see. Any place the rest of us might like to go? And the moniker on the kickstand is nice. -

Just be good to yourself. With a fill you agitate your stoma. Give it time to settle back down. Joy usually feels her fills more after about two weeks. Don't ask me why. Depending on the size of you band, it could take a while to get GOOD restriction. That sweet spot they speak of. And take revenge on the dog, tie it to the bike and putt around the block at about 30 MPH.....hehehe. (JUST KIDDING, PEOPLE) -

Diane, it will come, sure as a spring rain in Texas. Joy, my DW, just had her 6th or 7th fill. She's about as tight as a gnat's ass stretched over a rain barrel. The only thing getting thru there right now is liquid. After a fill or two you'll start to see the weight dropping off. In the mean time (after the fragging rain clears out) lets hear some screaming ! ! ! Lets ride ! ! ! -
Whosyadaddy, I see a scooter. Where's the motorcycle??? (sorry, I had to say it. hehehe) Nice putt putt! However, I did notice the SNOW still on the ground. We've got flowers blooming around here ! ! ! And all the trees are leafing out. I believe it is suppose to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 degrees today . . .

Dianne, we had a little group here in Fairfield but we sort of " broke up". Now it is just me. In that picture I was riding with Run For The Wall back in 2005. I'm standing in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. -

Karey, if I may, coming from a man who is looking forward and seeing himself paying for some TT, Lipo, boobs, butts and whatever.... OH MY GAWD! ! ! YOU LOOK. . . FANTASTIC! ! ! -
Sandy, welcome to LBT! Here's hoping your insurance person knows what they are talking about. I believe we have all had our issues with insurance companies. As for the long rides, Carol (RidinMyHDDream) rode her 1200 Sporty up to Sturgis, from San Antonio, TX just a few short weeks after her banding. She is a "Wonder Woman"... I would venture to say that it depends on how YOU feel. And that is probably what the doctor is going to tell you, too. Unless, of course, he is one of those jerks that refer to bike riders as donors and ain't never even been on one in his (or her) fargin' life... oh wait.... I'm getting up on my soap box. *grin* BTW, where do you hail from? I'm in Texas *smile*
